  1. A great little boat and a simply immense build. The various experiments are really cool. Stunned by the water on parts count alone!
  2. That drill machine is amazing. Consistently one of the best storytellers in AG! I always seek out your build threads.
  3. Yeah, that sub is really great. Good to see some more underwater builds.
  4. I like the little ship and the story!
  5. Great boat and vibe from the little island. Reminds me of some Caribbean vacations I've taken!
  6. I like it, a very compact design. Cool that the wings and landing gear fold out. Good dialogue too!
  7. Location: E02 Jurin II Tags: Science, Octan, Civil, Vehicle // PERSONAL DIARY // After my recent successes I was back on the Axle. It was good getting to work with Dr. Long and see her genius at work in person. It was also a great opportunity to tell her about all my great ideas and suggestions. I had so many. I told her about them whenever we got to work together. Eventually she suggested that we concentrate on our work so that we could maintain focus and not make errors. She is so precise! It was a good point and so from then on I would make sure to follow her to lunch so we could talk over my ideas there. But after a couple days she said she was too busy for lunch and she would just keep working in the lab. What dedication! So I started sending her all my ideas electronically. The next day she found me and said that Octan Corp needed data from Jurin II and that we needed a scientist to oversee the work. I wasn't sure what data she needed exactly so I asked her and she said: "We need all kinds of data. Jurin II needs science-ing! We need the data. Immediately! So you have to go ... NOW!" It was clearly urgent and I was so happy Dr. Long trusted me with such a vital Octan Corp mission. I wasn't even aware "science-ing" was a word, but if Dr. Long used it then it must be. She is so smart. And even though I found out she uses the free shampoo they provide in the showers instead of the stuff you buy in the ship's store her hair doesn't even really smell that much like soap! So I quickly got on a tanker and made my way to Jurin II to collect the data she needed. On my way there I worked with an engineer to repurpose a maintenance craft to carry my needed equipment for analyzing the air and soil for composition and to see if there was any sign of microscopic life. The scanners would also help pinpoint the major veins of Awesomnium. I wouldn't let Dr. Long down! She definitely picked the right man for the job! And I couldn’t wait to discuss my findings in person. Extra MOC proving there are no social boundaries my character isn’t willing to obliviously cross: Apologies for the photo quality, the light went away quickly and I ended up using indoor lights primarily.
  8. Thanks everyone, glad my parts supply has grown enough to allow me to pull off bigger builds that are more complete.
  9. Nice aliens and clever use of those wheels on the trees. Surprising restraint from a Mantis member to capture the alien!
  10. I like the boardroom feel and the little flags in front of each alien. Though I think we from Octan would love to exploit help the aliens also!
  11. Holy moly that is a lot of foliage! Love your stories, they have such a Spaceman Spiff quality. Great parts usage on the blaster's bolts.
  12. Whoa that jungle island build! I like the little spaceship too! Can't believe you are so fresh back into building with creations like this.
  13. Great story! You may well be the king of the laundry room. Nice beach build and that walker (plus pilot) have a lot of personality!
  14. Liked the story, but loved the ship. The outside shape is awesome.
  15. Love the retro future spacecraft, the low grav minifig pose and the depth of field background. Another impressive build!
  16. I love the jet packing off into the sky with his head turned, very Hollywood! Great trees too!
  17. Great SNoT build and I like how you just have the head sticking out. As Yoda would say: Size matters not.
  18. I can't believe you are relaxing when Dr. Long needs us all to be working to get her the info she needs! Love the waves and that mech certainly was doing a good job hiding. I like the grumpy wife behind him!
  19. I dunno about that hair... but I like the vehicle and the cave/rockwork!
  20. I like the Kawa ship and the Octan "dragonfly"... it seems a bit odd the Octan guy with the gun would walk up to you. Clearly we need better firearms training.
  21. Last freebuild before the next episode is up: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=111269 I forgot to change the title of my thread again. Can a mod please change it to "Sad Elephant"? Sorry!
  22. A few days after returning to the ship from Nar Eurbrikka I was summoned to Commander Ninkovich's office again. Imperial Intelligence had identified a building on Nar Eurbrikka believed to be a Rebel asset. The following day an assault was going to happen and he wanted me to pilot one of the craft they were going to use. It was a pretty straightforward plan, Stormtroopers would surround the building on the ground and keep out of sight. I'd fly in the initial craft with Stormtroopers to the roof and once that team secured the roof more craft would bring in reinforcements. Then the ground force moves in and we have the building from the top and bottom. It wasn't like the Empire was suddenly short on pilots though, so this was clearly a test for me. I'd be piloting one of the newer atmospheric transport craft, it had earned the nickname "Sad Elephant". It was small, unarmed and lacked any armor. The pilot was out front with loads of visibility but nothing to keep them safe. On the plus side it was essentially a frame with a big engine, so it was fast and agile. I'd flown them a few times before to move cargo planetside during a resupply run. It wasn't an assault craft and it would be shredded flying into a firefight; but speed and maneuverability meant it could appear suddenly and offload quickly. The following day I met the Stormtroopers who would be riding with me. They seemed pretty nervous when they learned I was a TIE pilot, but once I confidently walked them through my plan they seemed more at ease. They figured out I wasn't some fighter jock slumming it, but that I actually knew what I was doing. I flew high with the rest of the traffic to appear harmless, then dropped down to ground level 3 kilometers out from the building. From there we went lights out and full throttle. Normally in my TIE I'd go vertical at the last second and pop up, but the guys out back meant that wasn't an option. I kept to about a 30 degree climb and flared sideways on final approach to bleed off speed and allow the troopers a chance to survey the situation on the roof and fire if needed. Dropoff is always the toughest part. The possibility of mines or other explosives could bring the mission to a quick end. You also had to mind what was nearby on descent, a lesson that had been reinforced 2 weeks ago. A pilot I knew was flying a Sad Elephant on a supply run and hadn't seen a cable running out to a communications array. He caught his rear skid on it and when he took off the cable wrenched the skid into his starboard engine. With the port engine suddenly the only source of thrust he had gone into snap rotation and without altitude to set things right he'd spun in. A sad end for such a simple oversight. Plus you hang there motionless while your guys rush out. It takes seconds but feels like hours. You are stuck in one spot, a giant pinata just waiting for someone to pick up a stick. Once the troopers were on the roof I went full throttle and fought to gain altitude and distance. Alert Rebels could take that chance to fire something off and without speed you are an easy mark. Crashing in a city is especially dicey. Normally you trade speed and altitude for time to find a good landing spot but with buildings all around you that option is limited. You do what you can and hopefully find a nice wide, long street to set down on instead of eating a building. We had been lucky and there were only 3 very surprised sentries. They hadn't even managed to get their weapons into firing position before we had taken them down. They were just trying to do their job, but I'd done mine better and that had been the difference. Once inside the orders were to take prisoners when possible, but those unlucky few had been on guard duty. They were combatants and flying the Sad Elephant meant we couldn't risk errant shots. Once I had dropped off my team I returned to base to grab a medic team and supplies then headed back out to loiter nearby the target so we could handle any casualties. Hopefully we wouldn't be needed. There is always the grim reality that little resistance likely means the target is wrong or not very valuable. Usually there is correlation between casualty rates and value of what you capture. You hope the cost paid is worth it. Please judge and critique! Extra pics:
  23. That is a very substantial build! The "roof" landing pad with hatch is very cool. The morgue/lab is really well done also; the various tools and bodies is a nice touch. Can't believe you did all that for a weekly build! I'm impressed!
  24. Yay, I'm glad the story continues! Wow, I can't believe how amazing the size of the builds are. And that escape pod is fantastic also. The pictures help bring the story to life!
  25. I would say after last weeks builds on A06 and many comments from the other two esteemed corporations, we felt like it would only make sense to inform everyone of who they should seek out should they wish to talk to the Octan corporation.
