Yeah, I tried for about an hour to come up with different ways of having a "seat" or something else, but nothing fit. I actually had a totally different cockpit in mind for it, but I just don't seem to have the right parts for it. So this was Plan B.

One thing that came up in some internal discussions about the 14 day week is that DP would likely also double to compensate. So on a 2-14 scale if you include DP bonus for land vehicle and DP bonus for space ship and DP bonus for Dom for Dummies you could have one builder putting down 16-20 DP (5-7 score on current scale). Meaning 2 builders could theoretically dominate a planet. That seems ... absurd. So then you say that we need to up the DP required to take a planet but what other impact does that have. Before you know it we need to re-evaluate the entire game and the rules. Or if we keep the DP the same and just up the time allowed you likely cull people at the lower end. I'm not sure I want to spend 2 weeks and get a 3. That would be pretty discouraging.

Challenge 2: Cat A // PERSONAL DIARY // Dr. Long sent me a message that there is some "disturbance" located coreward in the galaxy. All personnel are being asked to get fighters and other space vehicles in order to be prepared. I was assigned the OF-98 Mosquito, a small lightly armed and armored fighter. It was designed as a very fast and agile fighter, but in a stand up against heavier fighters it wouldn't fare well. I wasn't too worried though, despite being a decent pilot I'd only had the minimum Octan Corp space combat training and had zero real combat experience. I'd rather have something fast to escape with than try to stand and fight it out. I'm sure Dr. Long took that into consideration when assigning me the Mosquito. Landing Mode: Flight Mode: Rear View: Bottom View (both of the ship and my minifig -- and yes I HAVE been working out!): Top View:

[Challenge 2][Cat A] - Hornet Class Gunship

Very nice build and good story, which seems to be a hallmark of Mantis builders. Welcome to AG!- 11 replies

Please transfer my 43 credits to Bob. Thanks!

There is no weekly build requirement for AG. It is all optional. I would really hate to base AG's schedule around another RBG because not everyone will be a member of that other RBG. We have people in here who do SoNE and AG but not GoH. And some that do GoH and AG but not SoNE. Trying to accommodate everyone's schedule will make things pretty challenging. I think the game just moves on and when you are able to participate you can.

The overhead crane is superb. The tank and trike are really cool too!

It is a great build with a lot of very nice design to it. My only complaint, which sadly is a Mantis issue mostly, is the lack of contrast. Hard to really focus on things when it is all so black.

I like the cave, but the RAT steals the show. Looks perfectly suited for exploring with all the various parts on the outside to make maintenance/repair easier. I like that the back "trunk" opens too!

Great action sequence, especially with the launching missile. I love the cargo ship, even the underside looks amazing.

I really like the design on that Kawa ship. Nice solution for that front using the coffee cup!

Funny story as always. I like how you made the mushrooms and put snow on top of everything. The sagging tarp with snow is very nicely done. No helmet could hope to contain that glorious beard!

At least I wear clothes! I really like the holoscreen build. Looks very sci-fi / big ship. That last picture looking up at her is really cool, very intimidating!

Nice looking greenhouse. I like the water barrels and the plants in various stages of growth. Great that Mantis has armed guards and turrets on even their greenhouses. -
Nice truck, the shaping of the parts is well done. A couple minor critiques are that 1x1 rounds for the rollover bar supports instead of the square pieces would have likely looked better and I'm not really a fan of the mixed reds. But the truck looks the part of an off-road vehicle!

That ship is great. I like how expressive you make the minifigs via different faces, and the story continues to be excellent!- 15 replies

Wow, what a shape! Incredible... just incredible.

I like all the angles and perspectives in your pics. Great rock work and cave too. Was a surprise when there was a cave under the surface!

Fantastic underwater scene! Jealous of your sub too. Another incredible build.

Nice continuation of the story! I like the logo and the little ship too.

[O - F02] Last Mission Aboard the O.C.S. Axle
Kodan Black replied to goatman461's topic in AG1 Archive
Great hanger with the arrow design. My symmetry OCD is bothered by the green tile with stud but the opposite sides red tile is flat. I like that compact little droid too, great smoothness. The little ship is cool and I like the little wing at the back. The two visible studs next to the cockpit stick out a bit since they are the only visible ones. I like that it has a cockpit able to actually seat figs. -
Glad someone finally picked up on it!

The Equalizer has a kind of WWII sub feel to it. I like the robot bartender, definitely some creative parts usage on that guy.

Location: Quantus III Tags: Science, Octan, Civil // PERSONAL DIARY // Well, I think I managed to get back on Dr. Long's good side. I returned from Lesser Drigo to the Axle and was helping her on her research when we got an emergency call. Apparently a young maverick pilot by the name of Pete Mitchell had done a supply run onto Forring and was eating an Octan Corp Nutrition Bar which he accidentally dropped. He picked it back up and continued eating it without realizing all the bacteria and pathogens he was ingesting. Shortly after he returned to the ship he became very ill. He became weak, dizzy and very pale. His skin took on a weird color and he was breathing rapidly and shallow. In addition to the medical team Dr. Long wanted a scientist there to monitor the situation and see that if the most unfortunate were to happen to the poor pilot, that we might be able to gather knowledge from the incident. I rushed to Medical Containment and began my assessment. ED-208 appeared a few minutes later and told me that Dr. Long had sent him to "observe for any anomalies", but the weird part was that he brought twin plasma flamethrowers. I think something must be screwed up with his systems, as those won't help him observe at all! Given Pilot Mitchell's sickly color and profuse perspiration I didn't give him a very good chance at survival, he was definitely in the danger zone. It was an unknown plant species and given another recent incident, we weren't entirely sure what to expect. He was quite lucid though and aside from the anticipated anxiety was relatively level-headed. We tried some drugs to simply stabilize his breathing and heartbeat which helped him some with the symptoms. I extracted a few vials of blood for further research and then we put him on dialysis. Through pure chance I stumbled upon a solution. I accidentally exposed one of the vials to some UV light I had been using to help grow some flowers as a nice thank you to Dr. Long for being such a fantastic example to me. The UV light managed to kill off most of the bacteria and we surmised his immune system would likely be able to handle the rest. I returned to the containment lab where we used UV lights on Pilot Mitchell and placed him under observation. In a few hours he was much better and we kept him under observation for a further 48 hours. His normal skin tone returned and there were no symptoms that lingered. He couldn't identify the plant exactly, but we noted in the medical database and Explorer's Guide the usefulness of UV light treatment. I made an initial report to Dr. Long and she was glad I'd extracted the blood for study. She didn't ask but I volunteered that the pilot was going to make a full recovery which she acknowledged. I'm sure her main concern was for the safety of everyone on the ship. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful, smart, and dedicated head scientist. Extra Pics:
