Smooth rounding of the stern. Nice touch with the scroll, and adorable little vessel. Fearsome, I meant fearsome.

One person!?! Who could that person be....Do we not need licences to go on the MCRA? Not having the encounter/distance charts, it is not wasy to know how the distance modifier works. But it is more exiting, and I think it is better to let us discover it through MCRA. But the balance of the game must be adressed (which you do now). I think umphing up the % of the hulls would be the most fair way to do it, but we have to watch out for inflation. So in the long run, a refund (possibility to move the free licence, combined with some adjustment of the prices may be the way to go. Given this new information (it must be the distance modifier that makes the difference in favor of fast ships), the one person that have licenced a ship is considering to post his/her cutter and move the free licence...

The Empire of Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion

That's a cool background inspiration. Looking forward to your stories. But go easy on the kind, honest and peace loving Esolandians ;)- 897 replies

I am impressed by how textured and great looking you all make it look with relatively few pieces. Whenever I want to make things less flat, I end up using a ton of bricks and unnecessary amount of snotting. May your gods favor you, and may the winds carry you to MCTC settlements. You are more than welcome. Bring your trade and/or doubloons

Yes! Give us action. We don't need another hero. I agree with the lighting being a bit bad, but I know how hard that can be.

Nice details with the keg, cannon balls, maps and such. Thank you for the picture of the cannon. And you got to use some windows. When I finally got some windows for my 1920 style city, BoBs came and altered my plan. Now I don't find a place for them anywhere, without them looking too modern.

I completely agree. I see it more clearly now. I will try to fit a bowsprit and jib (had to google it), fit some sails and take new pictures. I have my eyes on a defect canvas window screen, but the wife does not agree that it is broken ...yet. I hope the wind takes up and someone "forget" to close the window... Thank you, I found it in a used bulk I bought. I don't think I'll ever find out where all the parts belong, but I have always been the one to pick apart sets and create something new. It's Lego after all. I see what you mean, but I dont think the size comes across correctly in the pictures. She is about 9,5-12 studs wide and almost 32 studs long. I think part of it is because of the angling of my camera, and also the big wheel. I will try to replace the wheel with a smaller one before taking new shots, and also get a proper shot of the deck. I missed the bow deck details that I was quite satisfied with. Thanks for all the feedback. It sure helps me see things clearer, and hopefully find better solutions.

Impressive how much you are able to squeeze into that small plate. I would approve, if I weren't Eslandolanianerian.

I want to register my factory as my free licensed small factory +25 db for upgrade to medium factory. How should I submit it? As 2 small factories with the same link? One as free license and the other at 25 db? I don't know how automated the process is, so I want to make sure I don't end up with negative numbers, or that it doesn't get registered at the end of the month.

Thank you I was inspired by this: https://www.flickr.c...m09/1234934826/, but I did not have my PC close when building, so I see that it is almost just the colors that I got right. I had it busy with getting the shots, and didn't notice that I had no residents before posting. Well spotted. I am not happy with the red roof, however, I am sure Servadac will have some buildings partly rebuilt until it looks like a proper tropical city. About the real world issues, while looking at the inspiration again, I realize that I need something to build proper fences out of

"The weft and weave of fate guides the life and action of all sides, and through the tides of time they paint the hands of sinners and of saints." - The Kindred (Probably, I found this poem on twitter) This is my 3rd freebuild, so if you are not Eslandian, feel free to approve if you like what you see. Victor wobbled his way in a hurry, after getting words that the first test shipment had arrived. He had worked hard and long to put everything together, and finally it was time to see the result of his effort. The building was half constructed when the WGO got their gloved hands on it. How it went about he had no clue, but it was a good thing they got it because it was the only building in Bardo that fitted his needs. The window of opportunity was wide open. Long and with lots of windows, it was perfect for taking advantage of Bardos long exposure to the sun. A couple of traders where delivering a crate of the shipment as he arrived the pearly gates. He heard a lot of hustling and bustling from inside. "This is the finest fabric I've ever touched. Servadac will surely be pleased with this test run. The exquisite quality of the Fontanajo cotton makes all the difference in the world", a worker was saying as Victor entered the factory entrance. "Ah, yes it fits, it runs, it Works!!", Victor exclaimed when he saw the machine in action. The attic had room for storing raw cotton, and the finished product was going straight to the docks. The WGO had aquired the prototype of a device named "Spinning Penny" from a Corrington engineer. The setup enables the work of at least 10 spinners to be carried out by a few. There is a slight risk of injuries, but the machine does not require much skills, and workers are easily replacable. As long as there is doubloons to be made, they will come in masses begging to be a part making Fontanajo quality fabric. My photographic ligh conditions opportunity was very brief. Especially the outside shots was a bit dark. I adjusted the brightness of the interior shot to see anything, so the colors are a bit off. Smog have covered my area for weeks, but today I got 15-20 minutes. I had to photograph a residence, my vessel and the factory, so it was hectic. I am very satisfied with this build, but I have not used much advanced techniques, except for the Spinning Jenny (or Penny as I called her). Comments and constructive critique is most welcome :) Edit: And of course I have to give a big thank you to the Cotton King, Román Esteban Fontonajo (Elostirion), for letting the WGO process and make his familys cotton available to the general public.

Bardo has a diverse geology and fauna. The climate is mostly warm, and wet, but there have been periods of drought. No known notes have been kept to foresee how often this happens. The northeast is somewhat dry and windy, so the growth does not get very high, but cotton grows well here as well as crops that does not need a lot of water. The middle of the island is surrounded by several mountains, that catches a lot of low rainclouds, making the forest dense and humid. The lakes in Bardine Creek and in the mountain flows toward Bardo. Those are the main source of freshwater on the island. To the north of Bardo river lies is the land where the sugar canes thrives the most. No mountains to cover for the sun here, ensuring a long growth season. Bardo Rhum, characterized by its natural, clean flavours. Only the best parts of the sugar canes are used for rhum production, the rest is used to make sugar for other products. There are a variety of fruits growing wild on the island, the rivers are full of fish and the occasional crocodile. A selection of game roam the island. If you feel for exploring the jungle make sure to stock up machetes, and antivenom if you plan on venturing far from the riverbanks. There are also a fair amount of birds on the island. Bardo itself sits by the river mouth that flows into a basin that forms a natural harbor, sheltered for the many storms that this part of the seas are known for. The Bardo Delta is split into several small islands by the river. This makes it well suited for all manner of production, since the river takes care of waste disposal. Bardo are best known for their spicy cuisine, such as Hot Chilli Bunì's and Stail Ale. The amount of Hot Chilli Bunì's consumed during the first ever MCTC Musicians Talent Fair, that were held in Bardo in March 616, showed that there is a market for spices. Colt's Island: Coming. *Hot Chilli Bunì's: The latest fad in Bardolan cuisine. Organic (duh) chillies locally sourced from a trial plantation just outside Bardo. Bunnies. Cooked Warmed over charcoal. Charcoal made from rare trees harvested in the forest on Eslandolas newly discovered island, Torracha. Chopped by grown men and dragged over half a mile shore before it could be loaded and transported across the Sea of Storms. The crowds that had taken the journey to see what this festival thing was all about, were overwhelming, so chef Mercredi (and the rest of the staff and supply line on the newly opened restaurant Mercredi's) could barely keep up with demand. They had opened a small stall in the town plaza for the occasion. They served from the stall, but prepared the food in the restaurant and the back streets of Bardo. *Stail Ale: The local beer, brewed by adult siblings Jenny and Jeremy Stail. An Toli has two (2) large forts, making it a safe trade port. Troop info: 1 platoon of City Guards helps settle minor occurences in Bardo, and 1 company of soldiers (returned from Fuerte Unido). History: Not much has been written down of An Tolis past, but recently Colonel Oystridge (The Mayor) have taken upon himself of finding out more. You could always rely on The Bright Owl when you had big shipments to make. She was slow, though, and only fitted with two small cannons. But she was clean enough, and easy to sail, even for unexperienced sailors. She is classified as a 2T trading vessel (Is it a cog?). The seas are calm today, so it is a good time to enjoy the salty sea air for Ludwig Saxchsenhauser, on his first run as captain. A social fellow, he makes an effort to get to know his crew. They have not been very talkative so far, but he reckon they'll come around as long as he initiates the conversation for a while. Having prioritized food supplies for their big WGO order, they are having fish again. Captain Saxchenhauser grew up on a farm in the innlands, so he doesn't mind (much to the crews dismay). I want to thank Bregir for showing an easy way to build a ship with his Sphinx. It made it possible for me to make an attempt at a ship in time for the first MCRA, without sacrificing building time for my factory (coming soon, stay tuned).

Victor Servadac had been busy after leaving Eslandola. He had revised his plans over and over again. So much that he was in a hurry of getting the WGOs (White Glove Order) premises up and running. The materials he was promised had not arrived as promised (BL), so he had to start with what was already available on Bardo. He had managed to get hold of a compound to produce sharp blue paint from a local merchant, and together with the bright orange sandstone he managed to get the right tropical color mix. As the sun was setting he glanced up on the start of his legacy... The fast growing vegetation was going to be an issue. Hardly a month had gone by, and the ivy was already kissing the balcony. At least he had a place to stay while he focused on his main project. He just hoped some cabinetmakers were going to be attracted to the island. The sooner the better. He couldn't stand sleeping on the floor much longer.

I have a question about upgrading the free licence build, by paying 25db extra. I am making a medium factory. How do I proceed to do that? Should I register the build as my free licence and register a new small building with the same link? I hope to get a bit of daylight by tuesday and post my january builds by midweek.
