  1. Wow, what a beautiful sight. The sirens have gotten a competitor to their allure.
  2. Oh, the bed and that little stool is very romantic I don't know what Guy's uncle is doing there either. Not a clue whatsoever... Edit:
  3. About the city bank roll. Is it only for raids and determining tje Mayors pay?
  4. Creative headwear and funny story. I've been waiting for amazones.
  5. I like this ship... a lot! Tomsche said it best.
  6. Perhaps using the statistic in the ship list to decide rather than the example boats style is a better way to classify ships. Combined with looking at their design and how it fit with the story. In that case I would say the green one is a class 1T. The blue a 1F, since it easily caught up with the ships in the story. The index is very nice to have, but I feel some of the ships are a bit large for their class. So the creative leeway is good to have.I must admit that I have been a little stuck on my first four ship ever WIP, because they turned out another class than what I want as my first ship according to the examples. But if I look at statistics and what they are designed for to decide class, I can get them done mostly as they are. Selling ship designs is a great idea. Then people with small lego collections can participate with ships, even if they may have the bricks, desire or knowledge to build their own yet.
  7. Would these fit into the class 2 vessels? Like the green a cog, the blue a sloop, and the pirateship an armed sloop? Or the green a cog, the blue a cutter, and the pirateship a sloop/armed sloop?
  8. It could have been calvados they got. ;)
  9. Oh, this is fantastic! Struggling a bit with making my first boats, this helps a lot. These are perfect excamples of boats made by relatively basic bricks, likes of those readily available in most lego collections. They have a great nostalgic aesthetic look :)
  10. I started to warm up to the roof colors. Depends on what feeling you want to convey. It looks less comical now, but much tougher. The like the work on the inside ceiling. And dirty cats all over the place. I approve
  11. The water, roof lid, and chicken coop does it for me.
  12. I kinda liked the darkness in the background for this particular scene. Gives it a nice eerie mood. I like the how you make your story structured and collect them in one thread. Easier to follow.
  13. I agree, nice wave effect. And the dunes are nice as well. The way the vegetation holds the tops together is very realistic. Reminds me of my vacation to the west coast of Denmark some years ago.
  14. Looks good. When you get it done I would love to see it in colors. Like the Russian winter palace or the Catherine palace in st.petersburg. Don't lose your patience. It is very(!) promising.
  15. Sweet roof. Both the underside and the gable. I can't figure out how your distillery works, but I am more than willing to taste your product :)
  16. Nice. Very clean build. I like the color scheme, the half stone wall, oven and smoke.
  17. Having enemies is bad economy.
  18. ;) I tip my hat to you sir, you sure know your references. You may or may not be seeing some builds based on the brilliant adapted animated version from the 70ies.
  19. Spreading the risk. A lot of people have joined MAESTRO, so I joined another to balance things out. To much power is not good in anyone's hands. Unless they are wearing white gloves. ;) Also, I started on the story before MAESTRO got their approval from the king, and chose to stick with it.
  20. Hmm, that's a possibility. I intended it just to be something to riff on, storywise. But if there is interest, I am intrigued by the thought. The White Glove Order does not want to get their hands dirty though, so members have to use diplomatic approaches and remember to wear their white gloves when doing the Orders official business. I also want to rebuild my whole Lego city into a port. As I have understood it, it is possible to move licences and builds later on. So I am thinking after a little while to apply for a charter(?), and if/when, then others would also be welcome to build in other parts of that city. Indeed. That's why most endeavors that requires physical fitness will be carried out by characters in his posse. I fear they will be many, since I have a hard time discarding cool (even if one-dimensional) minifig creations.
  21. Victor Servadac of The White Glove Order. See my intro here: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=119841 “Dear leaders of the openhearted and open minded country of Eslandola, It is my honor to once again set foot in Eslandola after my travels throughout the known world. I have built bonds with many influential people that wants to contribute to the prospering and spreading of Eslandolan values. It is our hope that I and my business partners will find a safe haven where we can trade in peace. Along with building the economy and infrastructure without too much governmental restrictions on personal architectural integrity, nor having to be distracted by massing of chants to other powers than those of the financial market*. A part of our branch have retrieved a ship that have been lost from the Eslandolan fleet for ages, and we intend to take upon ourselves the cost it is to get this in sailing order and represent Eslandolan on the high trading seas of New Terra. As long as she is ours to keep and command*. Our goals of expansion coincides with those of the MCTC, and we would like to offer our gloved hands to hoist the MCTC and Esolanda flag on all new soil we encounter. We look forward to setting up shop*, meeting the people and extend our perception of building techniques in New Terra. *: Written acceptation needed. Signed, sealed and delivered, Victor Servadac of the White Glove Society [Written in character]” This is my official entry into the BoBs. I am not a photographer, but I am picking up on the great tips given in other threads. As I get to know the camera better (and the days are getting brighter up here in the north scandinavia) I hope to get better and less grainier shots. This quality is the best I could do for now.
  22. Main Character: Victor Servadac of the White Glove Order. Victor was a young and promising architect who lost his legs in an accident where one of his buildings collapsed. Defect Building by Stig Ove Bjørnstad, on Flickr It was said that he must have swapped some of the materials with a cheaper quality than what was ordered by the customer. Rubble by Stig Ove Bjørnstad, on Flickr Victor took the fall hard. He had brought shame upon his family name and left the country for many decades. He traveled throughout the continent collecting inspiration and getting to know people. From the Madrice Peninsula through Corrington, to Olean and even further, but everywhere he went the rumors eventually followed. Although his reputation suffered, he still managed to get the odd job from people that had a different view on using cheaper materials. He fancied a glass every know and then at the local taverns, and discovered people confided to him without him saying much. This was noted by certain individuals and because of this he got aquainted and inducted into an old fellowship, known as the White Glove Order. After many years, he has gained enough trust within the Order to lead their initiative in New Terra. Victor see the discovery of new lands across the sea of storms as a possibility to gain a fresh start, and his friends in the WGO see it as a way to gather new influences. Portrett Servadac og co by Stig Ove Bjørnstad, on Flickr Character: Gilroy O’Dougahallahan of the White Glove Order. Gilroy is making sure the books are ajour, so the money comes as it should. And goes where it should. He always carries a case with dueling pistols, but being a renowned pugilist, he does not shy away from fisticuffs if it comes down to it. Character: Alfonso Stabboni of the White Glove Order Stabboni, a man of few words, but when he speaks he does it with his whole face and body. His sceptisism does not earn him many friends, but he reckons he has the friends he needs. Alfonsos main duty is to ensure that the contracts that Servadac make on behalf of the WGO are fulfilled, whatever way he see fit.
  23. I am wondering if it is possible to build in 2 levels. For example a commerce in the first floor, and residence on the second floor, and register both of them, even if it just one build (paying the cost of 25+5 of course)? Is it not 25 to start with (for intro build), + 2x10 for your first two freebuilds? In that case: Build a ship and a building (artisan commerce, factory) that you get free license for. The you have 45 to start with. Build another building for 25 (artisan commerce, factory) Possible earning you doubloons as your 3rd free build. That gives you a balance of 20, not enough to build anything except residences for 5 DB each (Possibly earning you extra DB), or save them for next month. That would give you a yield for 2 establishments of 2x5DB, possible MCRA gain, and 2-8 DB if you build housing (you can afford 4 at most as I see it). You may of course post your builds in a different order, so perhaps the ship is your 3rd build. You counted the 10 DB for the free licence builds and for the first two buildings. That's not right. If you counted the yield from the establishments, bear in mind that the 25 cost buildings gives you 5 DB/month, except residences which gives you 2 DB/month.
  24. That old lady surely has both class and charm. :) I'd take her out for a spin any time. I approve
  25. I would also appreciate that. It is hard to build the first couple of ships, especially when I don't know anything about them (size, sail setup, hull shapes, armament, etc...).
