  1. I'm usually not a warwonger, wanting to keep away from the eyes of big politics, but turncoat is an accusation that questions your loyalty. Which side you are on does not matter as long as your personal integrity is good. Values are universal, while regimes comes and goes. The color of ones flag should never go against what you stand for. *Chanting* "fightfightfightfightfight!" Great story
  2. Neat build. I like the lines and overall look of the clock tower. The rock works with mixed hues, as well as the yellow spots on the beach.
  3. I can't help trying to figure out how the roof would look if it is turned 90 degrees, with the ornaments above the door side. Nice touch with the barrel tables. Lively scene. Looks like there are a lot of connections being made *Bada-boom-tsch*
  4. I am having problems containing my excitement for the results as well, but they have to gather information (roll a lot of dices), to find out what happened (make the stories to go with the results). Then making paper, printing, and distribution throughout the Brick seas. I wish someone could come up with a more efficient system. Pigeons? Klacks? Oracles?Although I am eager to know how it went, I prefer to read a quality paper. I'll be sitting at the docks, hoping every new ship carries news. Also, an update on the chart showing wealth and income. I wonder if they got the monopoly bonuses right this time. My calculations should give me 29 monthly income from properties (15dbs factory (with bonus), 4dbs residents, 5dbs commerce, 5dbs artisan).
  5. As an old bartender I love it when people know their drinkopedia. The story from another world goes: Tonic contained quinine, which were used in medicine against malaria. And by the brits logic the best way to get your amount of quinine, you should drink as much tonic as possible. And tonic was better with ice, gin and a slice of lime or lemon. This led to "the gin epidemic", which coined slogans such as: "Drunk for a penny, dead drunk for tuppence!". Good luck with the social implications that follow. Not advocating alcohol here, I am warning about it's dangers, just for the record.
  6. Bardo is struggling with food shortage, and therefore much malnutritional conditions at the moment. And the textile factory takes its fair toll in human suffering. So, You are most welcome. Bring your doctor bag :) Leeches is a great idea. I am looking forward to moc'ing the surgeon. Old medical practices, this should be fun :) Nice build! I really like the White Glove ornament! I approve! I think I will try to make a good interior for this one. I was particularly satisfied with the ornament and the roof, so it is fun someone noticed those. I'll try with some different coloumns, and make some other improvements when making the interior. I see the potential to make this into a hospital in time, with upgrades to the MOC and licence. I am loosely making the blueprint in my mind now :)
  7. The stern is very nice. And good lame joke. I would not know it was a snow unless you told it, because I don't know ships that well. So I learned something, and it is a good example of a snow as far as I can tell. I like it, and I approve.
  8. Surgeons Office, Bardo
  9. This is my 3rd Free Build. Approvals will be accepted with gratitude, and critique met with an open mind ;) Colonel Oystridge was greeted by Victor Servadac, as soon as he arrived on An Toli. "Colonel, it's an honor to meet you. I have been hard at work, getting others to work, and the surgeons office is ready to move in. Only needs some furniture. And, ah, well... a surgeon." Victor explained to the Colonel. "Good, good. I have contacted my old army surgeon. A most effective man. Soon no one have to fear for their life working in Bardo. The odds for survival will be here. We'll use cloth from the factory, and we need a wagon from Wilfredo's" "This calls for a celebration. Cigar?", offered the colonel. "Yes, please. I've heard it's good for your health.", Victor accepted. The White Glove Order ornament turned out alright, I think. Inside needs a little more work, but the need for a surgeons office was dire, so it will have to do until the surgeon arrives (last day to submit february fb's). What category would this be? Artisan does not feel quite right, but commerce doesn't either. I guess artisan will be the closest?
  10. I prefer a little freedom here. Depending of your setup, it will be hard to match the sizes precisely for everything. I plan on making a setup with elevation with a lot of narrow streets and some odd angles. Building things in several versions just to register with exact measures feels like a hassle. As long as people manage to portrait what it is intended as, within reason, I would say drawing a line somewhere between the sizes suggested would be ok.Example 32x32/1024 studs could be anything between 512 and 1536, From midway between 16x16 (256) and 32x32, and maximum x1,5 of 32x32. That allows creative freedom. Smaller builds need more detail, bigger ones can get away with less.
  11. Some windows or window slits would improve this a lot. Or add something more on the brick wall that faces the street. Ivy, arch, different texture to break it up a little. I like the basement.
  12. Lovely scene, and great connection to the lighthouse.
  13. Nice piratey mood. Looks bigger than it is with good play access.
  14. Very nice, especially the intertwined logs in the wall.
  15. What?! A Sea Rat that cries out for justice? Strange days. Your logic is sound, however, and I have to agree with your point. Because, even though they don't have to pay the licencing fee, the Sea Rats have to buy their own forts, and can expect limited help from their faction leadership. So I support your views, even if it can be said that it may be hard to sell stolen goods for full retail price. 2.4 on a 2.5 cost building is also an exorbitant ROI. Maybe a compromise, to maintain game balance, would be in order.
  16. Wow. She is marvellous! Exquisite! I like the red sails and the color scheme.
  17. Nah, seems legit (not exactly legit where I come from). What you need is mostly there. Vats to dissolve the sugars, fermentation and destillation. No filtration though, so it would be closer to cachaca than rum tastewise. Muddle with lime and sugar, and add crushed ice, and you have something quite drinkable.
  18. I have not heard of altbricks before. Thanks for the tip Ayrlego :) Cap Wolf: The wagon is superb. The road could easily be improved with adding some small rocks (1x1 round and square flat in different shades of grey). It is logical as well, if they cleared the cotton fields for rocks. I don't know if cotton fields needs clearing the land, but in agriculture I know about this is one of the ways excess rocks can be used, along with foundation for stone walls and buildings.
  19. I like the way you are building Quinnsville, showing step by step. The deserted beach growing into a hamlet. I also thought the beach was a little bare at first (in this and your other builds showing the beach), but considering it is only temporarily, and you did not have to build it at all, you certainly deserve cred for making your story richer, and for how you manage to make buildings representative with basic bricks. (I don't know what I touched to get the bulletpoint, and it won't go away, so you'll have to live with it. :p
  20. Dock Storage, Bardo Commercial Building, not licenced yet.
  21. Officers Quarter, Weelond Not licenced.
  22. I am looking forward to see the endeavors of another architect that have traveled the world for information inspiration
  23. Welcome Fuzzy Macfuzz You're in for a treat. You could try to send a personal message to you faction leader to ask for an extension. Your sigfig registration counts, the introduction build earns you 25 dbs when you post it.
