  1. As dampers, I would imagine.
  2. Can you imagine the static electricity that might generate?!
  3. Loving the drifting in the video! I really need to get my rc motors built into something. Oh, and some nice smooth wooden floors ... I doubt that carpet would help with drifting
  4. Pity you missed the deadline, I have a feeling this may have been popular in the vote; especially given the use of parts from a single set
  5. Looks great. As many have already said ... impressive to get so much in such a compact package, and get the look spot on. Love the vid as well
  6. I believe that they are only allowed if they were available from Lego
  7. The decision regarding eligibility for the contest doesn't detract from the quality of the MOC. It's one of my favourite models to have built from the last year
  8. Really nice proportions, and some great details. I tried something similar last year but, mine crashed and burned on the proportions front, before I got to working on the details. I might have to revisit the subject, using some of your ideas as inspiration
  9. Looks cool Not sure how it'd ride though
  10. Great mini Power Puller. By coincidence, I was actually looking at my 8457 set yesterday, contemplating building it again for display. I may well do that now, after seeing your great mini version
  11. Looking at rebrickable, the most common part (ignoring colour) appears to be the friction pin. The 1x1 looks to be coming in around 5th place
  12. I had to double take on that first photo, to make sure I was looking at the Lego model!
  13. Do I spy a crack in one of the components, in the final picture?
  14. Not as embarrassed as I did, when my girlfriend had to point it out to me
  15. I think this makes the perfect case for the inclusion of digital entries in such an event
  16. I feel I've had an educational introduction to the EB community. It's been an eye opening few weeks, watching the entries evolve and to see the skill and imagination that has been on show. I've said it before ... its stirs a mix of inspiration and intimidation
  17. Congratulations to all the entrants, and especially to the top three. I'm sure there will be a few debates to follow, regarding the results ... inevitable given so many great entries and such a diverse approach to the subject. Thanks Jim for getting all this reviewed and published so quickly!
  18. I love the way people spot these things
  19. I thought I had this problem too, when there appeared to be bricks missing for the doors ... a bit of investigating revealed that I'd used 6 of the 1x1 bricks at the front of the car, instead of 1 1x4 and 2 1x1 bricks. I am assuming you may have a spare 1x4 with side studs?
  20. This was discussed in the topic for the bike, before the entries closed. I think I mentioned that the bike had been seen before (I'd built version of it from youtube footage last year). Having seen the subject discussed in the thread and then the bike entry going forward, I had assumed that a judgement had been made that it was still eligible. My apologies for not checking further before the voting started. I may have been able to prevent some inconvenience.
  21. What an awesome MOC. The attention to detail is stunning. This is the kind of model I dream of building
  22. Definitely looks better without the fins.
  23. Like most of us need an excuse to buy a new set
  24. Based on this, I fear I may have serious brain issues
