Took a long look at Madoca's Pickup, with a view to some colour changes to personalize it a little more.

And they say Lego is having a negative influence on imagination!

[TC6] Tow Truck

That was insanely fast as a build! It'd take me most of that time to just find the pieces -
Sketching out some ideas for an MOC, and doing a bit of research to back up the ideas.

Kids Tricycle

Great representation of the subject trike. Yet again, the restriction on part count leads to a really creative design -

And another vote for the WIP updates. And I love Blakbird's idea for recording the conversion process. Jim ... do you ever regret opening things up to a wider audience? -
Building a Supercar MOC

I look forward to hearing how it goes I'll have to dismantle Madoca's Pickup before I can start anything. I'm loath to do that, as its such a good MOC. -
Building a Supercar MOC

Hey Jim, How's the build going? I'm still gathering the pieces (red flex axles may be a sticking point ) but, I am tempted to start before I have everything. -
Favorite Technic Sets
Boulderer replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Interesting that the majority are selecting the bigger sets. From this, you may be forgiven for concluding that the smaller, and even the mid-size, sets are not worthy. There is also an overwhelming dominance by the studless era, which is interesting too. -

I don't expect anyone else to agree with the following list but, this is a personal preference after all. So, in numerical order: 854 (this would probably be first on the list anyway) 8051 8070 8416 8854 These may not be the "best" sets, for any number of reasons, but they are my favourites and likely the last I would ever part with. -
Crane, excavator, wheel loader, crane, excavator, wheel loader ... repeat, with the odd car, truck or motorbike interspersed. One could argue that ideas are not as limitless as we'd like to think

Fantastic! Many thanks for your efforts Appie. I just need to find some time to sit and recreate the build. Thanks again -

Building a Supercar MOC

I'm working on getting all the parts together for the Ferrari 458. But, my flex axle collection is not as extensive as yours Jim -

I too would love to see the section photos, to get a better understanding of construction. I really like models on this small scale. -
Thats a good thing to see ... lots of great entries with appeal to many different tastes

[MOC] Off Road Pickup
Boulderer replied to Madoca 1977's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That advice was spot on! Many thanks. I do now have that slight feeling of embarrassment at not checking this before asking the question I've even had to do similar on previous builds of my own -
[MOC] Off Road Pickup
Boulderer replied to Madoca 1977's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Finally got round to building Madoca's Pickup. The build was really enjoyable, and the finished truck looks great. I have a few cosmetic alterations I want to try but, these will just be personalisations, not meant to rectify faults. I do have one issue with the truck and that is related to the 24t gears, either side of the center differential. The two gears are catching on the LBG frames to the outer sides of the chassis. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Found a solution?
