42040 Fire Plane
Boulderer replied to timtimgo87's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
To be fair, that video doesn't claim that it flies -
Has anyone yet built the B-model? I'm interested to know if cutting the tubes might impact the alternate model.

For me, any anniversary set(s) should pay homage to the years that they celebrate. I like the idea of a set combining the building techniques, and pieces, covering the 40 years of Technic. As one of the fortunates that received the first sets in the year they were released, I would love to see all of them revamped for the anniversary. I'd also like to see a return of the original instructions. Perhaps special editions of the instructions for the Anniversary year sets, in the style of 1977; a direct comparison of how things have changed in the 40 years. Let's face it, it'll only be 20 steps to recreate for the flagship

[TC7] Enforcer - Sea Screamer
Boulderer replied to Chade's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I like that the stabilisers are fully hidden before transformation ... nice air of mystery -
Many thanks for that! Now I just have to figure out why my search for "LEGO in Film" didn't return that thread

Apologies if this is duplicating a previous topic ... I'm sure there has been one before but, I'll be damned if I can find it! I was watching NCIS over the weekend and saw LEGO mentioned several times during the episodes introducing the NCIS: New Orleans spin off characters. This made me think of the thread that I can no longer find, and all the LEGO appearances that had been collated. So, can anyone point me in the right direction? Alternatively, would you care the start the list from scratch?

[HELP] Pushrod Suspension
Boulderer replied to Corvette3's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I had a similar experience, with that same piece cracking and eventually breaking. My set was only ever on display, out of direct sunlight. -
[TC7] Enforcer - Jeeper-Creeper
Boulderer replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I really like this, especially with the updates. These smaller MOC's, and competition entries (I hope!), are great as they are so much more accessible for others to build. Large MOC's with power functions are great but, beyond the resources of many to recreate. -
[MOC] Flatbed Tow Truck
Boulderer replied to KevinMoo's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great presentation ... thank you for taking the time to put so much detail into your post. The truck looks great. The bed height may be a little off by comparison with the real world but, Lego components are what they are and you have to work within the limitations that they impose. As said further up the topic, I wish I could build half as creatively as you are able. -
[HELP] Tracks
Boulderer replied to N-4K0's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Rather than different moulds, this may have something to do with differing shrinkage factors. There may be different polymer blends required to get the various colours. -
Fantastic work to get the lines as well as you have. It's really good to see the London bus getting a bit of the limelight, over the usual heavy machinery :) I've never been a great fan of stickers though so, I'd really like to see what it looks like "naked".

6x6 Offroad Truck "Modular"
Boulderer replied to D3K's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Do you have a link to information on the flashing lights? Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious ... its been a long day -
What a great build! It'd be great to see it in action with a video, if you ever get the chance. Also, what about the truck? It seems that a little of lime light should be cast in it's direction

Isn't this just a Mindcub3r? Where does the ultrasonic sensor come in to the build?- 7 replies

Great to see the X-Wing operational ... May the 4th can now commence in the knowledge that a great MOC is complete
