  1. Great personality and very inventive design to give the wings an organic, flowing aesthetic. It looks pretty poseable. How poseable is it?
  2. Love this. Reminds me of the rat-mole cross that the bounty hunter lady, June, rides in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
  3. I like the fig a lot. Great rockwork, of course.
  4. I somewhat agree. I'd like them to be a bit more subtle, I guess. So we're not Wheel of Ice and Truth, etc.
  5. Great beastie. One of my favorites.
  6. Sweet deal. I love the choice of shield for it too. Thanks Ecc and Kabel!
  7. Magnificent beastie. I like how stocky it is. Sets it apart from the more sinewy dragons we've seen so far. Also you'd think that all the white would wash out the details but it doesn't.
  8. Great work on this. I love seeing CHIMA in GOH. Also I haven't seen that style of hammer before either but it is so obvious once you do!
  9. I don't know what the "Moonbase Standard" is. Where can I find out more about all this stuff?
  10. The problem is that I doubt Ecc and Nivremis, good as they are, took into consideration the proportion changes "talling up" the dwarves would necessitate in their builds to make them still proportionate. Looking at this fortress build here, there's nothing distinctively "dwarvish" about it. This means the "talling up" is purely cosmetic or due to a dislike of the short leg pieces (which fair enough) but it seems to me that proportions must change across the board if we're doing a "zoomed" in build. This is just a discussion of aesthetics, though. No one should be overly concerned about this but we do want to make sure GoH has appropriate precedents otherwise there's no discernible reason to differentiate between categories like human or dwarf. As good as Nivremis's build is, and it is, it's not distinctively "dwarvish" architecturally either. I think if you're going to call your human-sized figs dwarves, a happy medium for consistency's sake would be to make sure the architecture says "dwarves built this" and this build does not do that IMO. A note about Tolkien's dwarves and thus the dwarves in general Western fantasy which are pretty well received from Tolkien (who received them from Norse and Celtic myths): Dwarves are not "short humans" or humans with the dwarfism condition as we know it. We can all agree on that. In fantasy, dwarves are proportionately (stature, as some have said already) different than humans. As a fictional/mythological creation, there is infinite room for interpretation of "dwarves" and there's not a lot of right or wrong there, it's just what you're trying to evoke. In GoH, we normally go for a classic fantasy (Tolkien) style (especially in Mitgardia). Those dwarves are pretty well established in terms of elements like culture, appearance, etc and we all can agree they're generally shorter and stouter than humans. But some dwarves are extra tall, just as some hobbits have been. They run a height range, just like humans and elves and everything else. But the norm is 4-5' tall in most lore. Beyond that, it's important to remember that TLG has exactly two mainstream height choices in figs. Dwarves are expressed, like children and hobbits, with the short legs for good reason: to differentiate them from the human-sized figs so, with the big old beards and all, we can recognize at a glance that "oh this, is a fantasy dwarf". If you want to do a new spin on dwarves where they are tall or something, that's fair, but you need a compelling reason to still classify the creation as a "dwarf". To be fair, Ecc and Nivremis aren't doing that. They're just doing "zoomed in" builds where relative proportions are set to "dwarf". Anyway that's just my two cents.
  11. A couple of GoHers don't like the difficulty of posing "short leg" figs so they make their dwarves tall. I don't like it either. :P
  12. This is in Mitgardia? I like the idea of an ostrich-powered machine.
  13. Another unique build, Gunman. You're the Guilds of Historica auteur, no doubt. My favorite thing besides everything is how you hitched the cart to the horse. I love small things like that even more than I love axe heads for wheels.
  14. There's some good incentive to complete all of them, but mostly it's a really fun challenge that is just linear and progression-oriented enough to suck you in and just free-form enough to be inspiring. I'd like to see the other Guilds mimic Age of Mitgardia, actually.
  15. Cool beans. I'll say Hataman is on his deathbed and may do a build for him to pass on his rank to one of the surviving warriors. What does Paulos look like? He's on Dugal's side? I may include him and portray his offer in sweet, sweet Lego. I'll also have to look into Queenscross because I'm pretty sure the Yukar will agree to Paulos's terms.
  16. So cool. I totally agree with you about mixing the toys. People around here occasionally get uptight about categorization and labels the same way we nerds tend to do about anything. My advice is to ignore it.
  17. Very cool. Love the old school chubby look to it too, reminds me of classic Godzilla of all things.
  18. What is this "Chrono" badge? I know about LCC and LoR and GoH but this is new to me.
  19. Poor Hataman! He had such high hopes for his people so I have a few questions that need settling before I can build Yukar again: 1. Are all the Yukar fighters at the battle dead? 2. Did Hatman's pet drake die? 3. What is the fallout of the battle for the Yukar? Specifically: are they just another bunch who fought/died or did they win some prestige? IIRC they fought for Dugal so will he be granting the Yukar some territory as they hoped? Thanks Ska and Scarst. What a riveting ride.
  20. Good work on the build and my what an army. I don't like the tall dwarves craze sweeping Historica right now. :P
  21. The loom is awesome. Holy crap. I may copy the design or mess with it when I do my AoM shops (planning a textiles theme). The chimney and house overall are nice. I like the way you handled the shutter-holding staves as well.
  22. Well done. One of the better microbiomes I've seen!
