  1. I was looking through some of yours for inspiration this morning, awesome builds! I think I'll keep it simple myself haha
  2. Hey guys! I'm going to try something I haven't so far - a WIP thread for my new tatra 6x6 truck. I'd love to hear all the advice you guys have along the way! The idea is to make a pretty small truck with servo steering and two L-motors, one powering each side to eliminate the need for differentials. Each half axle will be suspended by its own spring. I've already come up with a front axle that I'm happy with. It's solid, good ground clearance, good steering precision despite smaller steering radius, and it's just the right side. If it's not too tall, which I'll have to figure out, the plan is to stick the servo motor vertically right onto the 8-tooth gear, which will give it excellent precision. Another gearing, if I put the servo on its side, would multiply play in the steering system. What do you guys think? The 8x8 blueprint I will use for the front view scaling, which I couldn't find for a 6x6
  3. You're right rm8. Hopefully someday. My next build is going to be a slower, indoor type of car though so I should be ok for now By the way I love your super fast baja, it was an inspiration for this build!
  4. Thanks! You're very right. I tried out a couple different roof designs, but decided I was starting to make it too detailed and loaded, as I have a tendency to do, which would reduce performance due to added weight. Haha yes I got them when I was a kid with the Supersonic RC.
  5. Pretty well! It drifts nicely. I was actually surprised but it never fell off, there's no torque on it so that helps, it just has to turn the wheel. Thanks! I only found a blueprint for the side view, so I had to approximate the width. These cars are pretty wide for stability. 68050-1332394005-gtaiv-2012-03-22-09-22-23-43 by Teo's Technic, on Flickr That's the original I was modelling. What do you think?
  6. Hey guys! It's been a little while since the last build, but I've got a new model. This time it's a class 1 offroad racing buggy like the one in the DIRT2 video game. It has servo steering and two RC motors powering it. Suspension on the front is double wishbone, and rear is trailing arm. My main goal was to make it fast, sturdy, and look good, and I feel like I got a pretty good balance. The only drawbacks are that the steering isn't very precise, and the IR receivers don't get as much reception as I would like outside in the sun. Still, it was a lot of fun to film, hope you guys like the video. Enjoy!
  7. Awesome! Funny how we came to the some of the same solutions for making the front of a truck 2Final by Teo's Technic, on Flickr
  8. You guys are right the proportions aren't exactly on, but it was the closest I could do due to the size of the axles. Also the back is non-Technic because it was getting too heavy, and already the truck is much slower than the chassis alone.
  9. I used a different model: model by Teo's Technic, on Flickr Thanks a lot! Your models are amazing, so your opinion really counts!
  10. Hey everyone, Here it is, after about half a year of on and off work, my new MOC, a working model of a MAN TGS Dakar Truck. A video showing all the functions: The chassis is entirely LEGO, and has: -Servo steering -4x4 transmission -2x buggy motor drive -live axles on front and back -opening doors -working lights It also has custom stickers, as well as a box for the rear, made of styrofoam board, acrylic stickers, glue, plastic sheets, and regular stickers, which took a while to perfect, but turned out pretty well in the end. Hope you guys like it!
  11. What do you think? should I make the bumper all white or all red?
  12. DSC03169 by Teo's Technic, on Flickr Here's some more front bodywork. All the lights are gonna be like the one sticking out, but I'll have to buy some more parts for that, so for now just imagine it.
  13. It's going to be powered by two RC's, and all red with a white stripe along the bottom. I'll use the wheels from the new container truck.
  14. Here's the beginning guys, after a long break a new MOC, the famous group B Audi Quattro rally car. All I've got so far is a front. IMG_3652 by Teo's Technic, on Flickr I'm thinking to make the bottom part of the bumper white, and also fenders and a line along the bottom all around the car white as well.
  15. I love the front! It looks exactly like a japanese drift car, and the bumper has a nice geometric shape.
  16. I think you should try going through the instructions of something like the 8258 crane truck, or the 8070 for inspiration. Also, for mudguards, it's best to use the curved liftarms or curved connectors
  17. This really tops the list of the finest compact TECHNIC cars!
  18. By using the servo directly in the axle, with a big mechanical advantage from the long arm, the steering turned out quite strong and precise. The down side is that it still needs a lot of space I didn't unblock it myself because I added music-connected effects which look strange if I changed the song.
  19. They broke at the middle piece: the outside pieces snapped out of the centre hub.
  20. Very nice little MOC! Great detial for that scale

  22. Hands down, ZBLJ, one of the finest Technic trucks ever! A 3 kg beast that goes that fast is something pretty amazing.
