  1. Great creative achievement. Keep going. I'm following this one.
  2. Didumos69,

I wrote this on March 23rd. Maybe you didn't get it.

The files are now uploaded to Bricksafe. https://bricksafe.com/pages/1963maniac/

    1.Didu'69 Micro stepper - Motorized

2.Didumos Compact 90 degree stepper with separate limiter

    3. Didumos69 90° shifter w rear output

    4. Didumos69 Reliable two-way 90° stepper

    5. Didumos Simple sequential 4-speed gearbox with single rotary catch

I don't consider these done because the white rubber bands are not modeled properly. I'm working on that now.

I'm currently working on a small project for Attika, for which I also have to model those pesky flexible parts.

I am offering to help with any building instructions you have. 1963maniac  dkkampf@gmail.com

  3. Where do you get those "parts from "Cada"? Change the gearing between motor and model to get it moving. Like most of us you have learned the hard way. Only after all that designing and building do you find out it's too heavy. It can be very frustrating, but now you know.
  4. Sorry, I'm late to the party. Are these wheels available to get from somewhere? Thanks anyway. Found them!!
  5. I usually buy big sets, so I don't always visualize what every mechanical system is doing til the end. Sometimes it helps to visualize when you have a digital file. I very much appreciate when a digital file is available on a MOC. Sometimes I build slow and sometimes I build a lot faster. On MOCs, I don't always have all the correct parts, so I have to improvise.
  6. Pardon me but, why wouldn't you just use rechargeable Lego 9v batteries? This seems like a lot of extra work!
  7. Hey Doug72, Found your topic today. On page 19 you mention the need for TLG to make a 24t clutch gear. They kind of have one already. It's part of the 16t/24t differential gear. I've been naughty and cut away the 24t end of the gear off. It makes for a real easy solution. And, it works great.
  8. Tribute Model 8880 Evo https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/134570-tribute-model-8880-evo-building-instructions-added/&page=3 https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-20224/1963maniac/attikas-8880-evo-tribute/#comments
  9. I'm not familiar with that part so, my idea may not work for your application. I have used "liquid electrical tape" on Legos before when I have needed more traction. It stays on pretty well and peals off easily enough when necessary. In the US it comes in a 4 oz.can with a brush applicator in the lid. It's quite easy to use.
  10. Personally, I wouldn't want to try to download 7 different files. And then you have to put them together later, somehow? Do you guys really have that much trouble downloading PDFs? One file is all I would want to organize. I just did one with 1600+ parts. Put it on Bricksafe and post the link. No problem. Only takes a few minutes to download.
  11. Hey Didumos69! I've been thinking about your transmission tunnel lately. I was wondering why not add reverse in the 2 speed gearbox, using a third clutch gear? Can that be done?
  12. In configurations , both the PLI and the BOM can be sorted by color. That would at least get your colors organised. Once your BI is printed you could circle them and make notations for the colors. I don't think fading or highlighting parts would be very helpful in a grayscale image. I mean write on your printed BI.
  13. Yes, the first Legos were made of wood and they were not bricks at all. They were wooden car & trucks, etc.
  14. On rendering in Stud.io, have you tried a very small model? Maybe your PC just needs more time. My old PC used to take almost an hour to render one step with LPUB. I thought it crashed but it just needed more time. It didn't have enough RAM and GPU wasn't fast enough. Blakbird (many years ago) used to have to leave his renders to process overnight. Try a a small model, 10-20 pieces, see how long it takes. I've noticed POV Ray is a little faster than Photo Real.
  15. Thank you, Philo! I was looking for JC Jchang stuff but didn't find it. I was feeling a little underwhelmed by the help I found before this. Now?, not so much!! THANKS!!
  16. Thanks for your help Philo. Is there any tutorial or help files for LDPartEditor or more for MLCAD? The Holly wood it parts authoring content seems to be quite brief.
  17. I would like to author a part that does not exist (just for my own use). I do not understand how the following is accomplished in MLCAD. How do you get to the LDRAW\parts\directory? from http://www.holly-wood.it/ldraw/authoring-en.html There is a portion that says: "The final code will look like this: 0 Brick 1 x 2 0 Name: 3004.dat 0 // Bottom rim 4 16 20 24 10 16 24 6 -16 24 6 -20 24 10 4 16 -20 24 10 -16 24 6 -16 24 -6 -20 24 -10 4 16 -20 24 -10 -16 24 -6 16 24 -6 20 24 -10 4 16 20 24 -10 16 24 -6 16 24 6 20 24 10 0 // Inner box 1 16 0 24 0 16 0 0 0 -20 0 0 0 6 box5.dat 0 // Outer box 1 16 0 24 0 20 0 0 0 -24 0 0 0 10 box5.dat 0 // Inner Stud 1 16 0 4 0 1 0 0 0 -5 0 0 0 1 stud3.dat 0 // Top Studs 1 16 10 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 stud.dat 1 16 -10 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 stud.dat0Opening the official 3004.dat file in the LDraw\parts\ directory with MLCad or a text editor will show the same content differing only in the sequence of the code lines."
  18. I was trying to use these wheels, part # 32197, on the Lego Technic wheel hubs, part # 92909 . I discovered they are made to fit on three 1/2 pins or the axle hole. So, they fit very sloppy. Has anyone figured a way to get them seated more strongly on the wheel hubs?
  19. In MLCAD go to "file", "save parts list", will show how many parts you have.
  20. I used to have this problem before my current PC. I found a way to get my BOM, which may not have been the way others would do it. Here's what I did. First create another file of your MOC, by renaming it. Second remove all LPUB formatting and save it. Third, open the new file in LPUB and create a BOM, This will take a while with 3,000 parts. Fourth, export that page/pages as a "PNG". Now you can add the BOM as a picture into your original LPUB formatted file. These png pictures you created may need to be cropped a bit to properly fit on an LPUB page.
  21. This is a great feat of engineering and creativity!!!
  22. Merry Christmas to all on EB. I do enjoy this website and especilly the Technic topics, but most of all the sharing that goes on here at EB!!! So thanks and Happy New Year to all of you.
