I was never in Futuron. No special reason. But what an AWESOME set! If I knew it by then, I think things would have been different

Same here: Kingdoms brought me out of my Dark Ages, but most of my MOCs are City related. I even have a City layout, but no Castle/Kingdoms one. I do have a couple of Forestmen sets in a small shelf, but most of my Legoing is City related. That's curious!

"Would you like these wrapped up as gifts?" "Nah, no real need to" "How old is the kid getting these Legos?" "About 35" "Oh..."

Tie: Black Falcons/Crusaders. Anything Castle to be quite honest. Followed by Classic Town, then Classic Space. More often than not, I'd mix sets from every theme and have the most amazing adventures! My main character would live in a castle that was all medieval on the outside, but modern on the inside. The castle was just outside the town, where there were cars and motorbikes and the like. Forestmen lived in the outskirts. There was usually a mission to space for a reason or another, but the main reason was usually to find adventure. I used to play with my neighbours, and we would just bring our Lego and everybody sort of had this same storyline in theirs heads, where the town was for houses and motorvehicles, the outskirts for castles and forts and horses and the other rooms in the house were space, the final frontier. It was quite fun. Good times.

Hello & asking for set recommendations
Artifex replied to Davidbarrena's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don't live in a country with Pick a Brick, so, if you do, go for it. If you want the sets, I'll give you the same advice a Lego employee gave me when I came out of my Dark Ages: if you want to build medieval MOCs, buy medieval sets. If you want to build town MOCs, then go for City sets, and so on. Bricklink and ebay are nice places for buying, but my experience is that most people on ebay hardly know what a "complete" set is -- especially in the case of old Castle sets with helm feathers. If you want advice on sets, go for Kingdoms Joust. Get like 4. You won't regret. It's a great set available right now, it's gorgeous and it's also an excellent parts pack. Medieval Market Village is another great set, whatever faction you are into. More on factions and sets: Go for the old sets you love. It's well worth it. But if you want to MOC, it's usually better to have newer bricks. -
Wow. Just. Wow. I'm truly out of words. So I'll just put on my armor, get my gun and wait for the mission. Can't wait to ride in those AWESOME vehicles!!!

My question is: Do you think this format for Creator houses is better than the previous ones? Compare the new set with Appletree house, Log Cabin, Family Home, Mountain Hut... I think there's some progress and, to be quite honest, I like it that the Creator houses are becoming more and more lively, with minifigs, cars and even interiors. But I don't like it that they are becoming smaller than the older ones. EDITED for spelling. Tablets virtual keyboards are... Tricky, to remain civil. Grrr.

I came by this Lego City Playmat. It looks really nice, but I'm sort of biased because I always loved these things when I was a kid. Speaking as an adult, how cool are the Lego playmats? I saw a couple of pics on the internet, and they look nice, but my real concern is: how useful are they in a Lego city? Can you mix them with roadplates? And if so, do they look nice? How do they look in a Lego city, among modular buildings? This is the link http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/LEGO-City-Playmat-850929;jsessionid=2n7B2+8p2eWh-FnBRgbCLg**.lego-ps-3-1

Wow! Looking great, LT! As always! Question: do you keep a display at home?

I guess you guys have already seen this, but here it goes, anyway: The new -- and working -- drawbridge of the Tower of London. The Tower hasn't had one since the 1970s.

Most impressive! Awesome work!

Hello! Is there a review or could someone please review 850929 City Playmat?

All those sets (MOCs, I know!) look nice. I wish we had more add-on sets like these.

Wow, it looks awesome! Truly a beauty!

I'm a big fan of GI Joe, and when Kre-o announced there was going to be a Kre-O GI Joe line, they got me interested. I read all the reviews around and I even asked here at Eurobricks if there was a good compatibility between the two brands. And then I bought my first Kre-O set. Overall, I'm really glad about it, but mostly because it's GI Joe, and because the sets are Kre-O replicas of real GI Joe sets (although some sets are entirely new) that I can add to my Lego Town. I like the boxes too, and the Kreons (the Kre-O minifigures) are differente and interesting (they have chins and their legs move sideways). The boxes are useful like the OP said, and the building manuals are just like Lego's. But I don't think the plastic is as good as Lego's. It's got a different feel to it. And a different shine. It looks a little cheap in comparison, although it's got a good grip. Actually, I feel the plastic is a little harder than Lego's, but I'm not sure that's better -- I felt more than once that a brick was going to break while I was connecting to others. But I have nothing bad to say about the Kre-O GI Joe sets. The ones I bought are already part of my Lego town. I have mixed the bricks of the two brands to see what happened, and it's just like kissing a cousin -- it feels good, but it also feels wrong. Just kidding; kissing a cousin feels great!
