  1. Thank you all for the tips. I ended up buying Helm's Deep and Uruk-hai Army (on the side: John Lewis is THE place to buy Lego in London! It's got the BEST prices!). I just finished building Helm's Deep and it looks absolutely FANTASTIC! It's not only one of the best parts pack there is, but it's also a great set in and on itself. Adding the Uruk-hai Army set just makes it even better. And Uruk-hai Army is a great set on itself too!
  2. Nice little addition. If there's a blacksmith set coming in this line (and there probably will be), I hope it looks like your MOC.
  3. Thanks a lot, CM4S! I tried many combinations and I couldn't get a single one to work in Bricklink!
  4. I've been looking for this shield and I can't just find it outside a full Tower Bridge set! http://www.brickset.com/parts/?part=6023467 http://www.brickset.com/ajax/getParts.aspx?Design=90228&aid=hsi90228 If anybody got one to sell, please PM me so we can negotiate. P.S.: I can only pay via PayPal.
  5. Can anyone please post some pics of 7946 King's Castle and 70404 King's Castle side-by-side for comparison? Size, towers, keep and the like... Thanks in advance.
  6. Wonderful!
  7. On the one hand I love 7946 -- it was the one set that got me out of my Lego Dark Ages back in 2010. And from then on I fell in love with the whole Kingdoms theme. So much so that it really hurts when I see that Lego has moved forward and released a new Castle theme. On the other hand, the 70404 has a very nice design. I'm not fond of the j-u-n-i-o-r-i-z-e-d heraldry of the new Castle theme, but I've been giving some serious thought on getting at least the new castle and gatehouse. They do look good. But then, there's the almighty Kingdoms Joust... One of the best Castle-theme sets ever! If you want ONE castle, and you do want a CASTLE, I'd say to go for the 7946. The design is great and so is the heraldry. But if you want a castle-like area for your town, then go for the Kingdoms Joust. It will be more than enough. Here's the catch: whatever choice you make, try getting 2 or 3 of the same set if you got the coin to spare. It's really worth it and there's nothing like a big castle! On the side: can anyone please post comparison pics (or just a regular pic, whatever) of 7946 and 70404 side by side?
  8. Thanks for the feedback, guys! I think Helm's Deep is indeed the best of the two sets for parts. As for the figs, I guess it all comes down to what you like. The LotR ones are awesome. I do like the colours of the new Lion Knights, although I think the heraldry is just too j-u-n-i-o-r-i-z-e-d for my taste (while the previous was just perfect!). Did anyone get the Kingdoms Joust for parts and pieces? I guess the joust's battlepack is the Kingdoms chess set ;)
  9. Title pretty much says it all. Also, throw in Uruk-hai Army and Gatehouse Raid/Forest Ambush as side/complimentary and parts/army building sets (imagine you are buying Uruk-hai Army along Helm`s Deep, for example).
  10. Kingdoms Joust, Mill Village Raid... Some strong competitors to the place of the MMV. I think we are yet to see the "official" MMV successor. It was D2C, yes, but I don't think it was as linked to a theme as the Kingdoms Joust, for example. The Joust just screams "LKingdos Lion Knights!". I know there were soldiers in the MMV, but no "faction buildings". I don't know... Maybe it's just wishful thinking of my part. Oh, wel... *sigh*
  11. While writing my post, I thought about that. But I'm not sure. It doesn't scream CIVILIAN the same way the MMV did.
  12. Now that the MMV is retired, what set do you think should replace it? A mix of civilizan houses and shops? An inn and a blacksmith? What's your guess? What's your bet? I'm really out of ideas right now... But a big set with at least two buildings and lots of minifigures (especially civilians!) should be the way to go. in a way, the winter village seems to be going in the right direction with "civilian buildings" for the City theme. Well, who knows... I hope it will be something at least as espectacular as the MMV. What's your guess?
  13. I'll be deeply disapointed if we don't get an Edoras set and a Minas Tirith one. A Gondor soldier battle pack is a must too. Later this year The Lord of the Rings Online MMORPG will release an expansion that will bring Edoras and the Golden Hall of Meduseld. I'd love if Lego would jump in and released that set for Christmas. For some reason, it makes me think of the dinner hall in the last Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle.
  14. Oh, no. I hope I can get the Ewok Village next year, then.
  15. I'm new to Lego Star Wars. I love the Old Trilogy and the recent sets look great. I was thinking to buy Jabba's Palace and Jabba's Sail Barge (along with 1 or 2 Desert Skiffs), but then the Ewok Village came along and I guess I'll skip the other sets for the village. Do you guys think I'll be able to get Jabba's Palace, the Sail Barge and the skiffs next year? Do you think they will be around much longer? I read/heard somewhere (in The Brick Show, I guess) that Jabba's Palace is being discontinued next year... Could that be true?
  16. I hope in the near future TLG releases am Imperial minifigures pack as well!
  17. Do you guys think Lego will release any OT sets in 2014?
  18. Hi there! Do you guys know of a physical shop/store in London where you can buy the Google Nexus 10 tablet? I can't buy it online from Google or from other parties -- like Amazon -- because they won't ship to my country (Brazil)...
  19. That's what I thought. If not 2014, then 2015, i guess. I guess the 7965 is the best version so far; each new set seems to top the previous one, although the minifigures in this set are impressive! Now that made me check my wallet.
  20. I'll wait to get it along the Kristen Stewart Wonder Woman. The way this is going, who can tell...
  21. This year I decided not to buy fire stations. I was going to pick the 7208 because it was the one available, but then 60004 came out. To be honest, I was not a fan of either, but my town was in need of a fire station. As I was going to get the Fire Brigade anyway, I decided to skip the City fire stations for the modular one. I'm quite happy I did that. Although I did buy the 7498 Police Station (I think it's great!), I'm still waiting for a modular police station to be the "official" police headquarters in my town. I hope we'll get one soon.
  22. Hi there! I've been thinking about getting a 7965, but I just realized it's a 2011 set -- and Lego usually releases a new iteraction of a former set every 3-4 years. So I'm not sure if I should get the latest Falcon or wait for the new one. What do you guys think? Any thoughts?
  23. Well, there are 2 more movies coming out -- 2013 and 2014. I think it's safe to say we'll be seeing new LotR sets at least till 2015.
  24. Oh, thanks a lot! I thought I'd have to give up on this! Thanks-thanks-thanks!!!
  25. Hi there! We had this toy in Brazil called Gulliverlândia (Gulliverland; lândia = land in Portuguese). It was released by Gulliver, a Brazilian toy company that sometimes released foreign toys too. It was a really lovely toy, with small houses that looked like telephones, mixers and the like. The characters were anthropomorphic animals and you could change legs, torsos and heads among them. Thing is: I've been trying to find out if gulliverlândia was an original Brazilian toy or if it was a foreign toy released in Brazil. But I can't find anything related to it! I have no idea what the name could be, if Gulliverlândia was in fact a foreign toy, so here I am looking for your help. The link below is to Google Images, where you can see a few pics of what Gulliverlândia looked like. If you know anything about it, can you please post it in here or PM me? Please, please, pretty please with sugar on top. Gulliverlândia is a very hard to find toy these days, and I've tried many name combinations -- all of them guesses -- in ebay and Google, but I can't seem to find anything about it in the "non-Brazilian world".
