Modular truck
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Using the right gears almost every motor is enough , anyway I have room for a XL motor if I need it. You right and that is why I want to use a clutch in the drivetrain and cause my children will break the gears without it, I do not think the weight will be a problem I do not usually do heavy MOCs. -
Modular truck
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I do not think so, maybe a little but not enough to worry about . Twin ackerman steer -
I had the idea of trying to do modular parts to create different trucks. My first goal was to do something simple and strong and I did this, but then I thought if I want something simple maybe I would have to remove the ackermam steering... it is hard to try to build simple... Anyway I got a low RC chassis with a lot of room above to use for different truck types and taking away the ackerman system it would be simplier... While I take a break of the 959´s bodywork I will try to do modular axles, lately the thing I like more of technic is optimization much more than complexity.

AWD 1:10 scale car
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I will try to do a 959 because I like it even more than the F40 and I know it none done yet, also the base would be very similar for any 911. It would have to be easier to do than the F40 but we will see because I have to confess that I have been rebuilding my F40 but I ended up frustrated... even keeping the main parts intact, almost all bodywork, I didn´t like it enough... -

AWD 1:10 scale car
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It had 4 clutch selector rings with a 7 speed and reverse manual gearbox, it had to be operated by a gear shift level like most of my cars, always using the system I saw in Tyler Reid cars. I think the same, I do not like too much overcharged panels cars... -
I can finally do an AWD 1:10 scale car with a realistic width between wheels, less than 24 studs, thank to the land rover wheels. I always wanted to do these cars but it was impossible to achieve the right width without use the old 8880 system, now I have a few cars to build that I had discarded, let´s see what I am able to do, of course with the old style bodywork, flex axles and only a few panels. Many years ago using the 8880 system. Now using new wheels.

Lego is getting worse and worse, bigger motors and sets with fewer functions... fortunately I am drawing again and on top it is quite less expensive so lets park Lego for a while.
