LEGO Creator 2021 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Thank you all very much for the information! The Ferris Wheel looks quite nice. But for someone who already has the CE one, this one can of course not compete with it. Nevertheless the ferris wheel itself is built very well and the balloon cart is great. I also like the swingboats and take into consideration to buy the set in order to built these. In contrast, the bumper cars are too simple - it's only a facade and the cars. The Medieval Castle is a pure beauty! Supposably it's even better if we got a castle in a regular Castle line. It's great that Lego chose a realistic, non-fantasy style castle with a lot of details and many play functions and even two nice alternate builds - so with three sets you'll get an amazing castle! Nevertheless I'm really disappointed about the fact that we don't get any Townhouse like in the previous year!

    [MOC] SEASIDE MEMORIES

Very nicely done, @Bricked1980! The minifigs must be very happy at this seaside ...

    RES-Q sets reimagined

I can well imagine this. Do you plan to add some civilian aspects to the remaining sets, too? Such as a small hut, a canyon with a rope brige, a pier with a motor boat, ...? This would be really nice.

    RES-Q sets reimagined

Wow, that's really excellent work, @marv! If these were official sets, I'd buy them at once! Do you plan to do a digital reimagination of the Res-Q HQ, the lifeguard stand, the helicopter and the hovercraft, too? That would be really cool!

Fairground Sets - Rumours and Discussion

According to Promobricks, 10291 will be this year's Fairground set and it shall cost only 100 Euros. Since - apart from this new information - we haven't seen or heard anything of this set yet, I bet it will firstly be released in July, perhaps with a VIP early access in late June. I'm very surprised about this price - if it was correct, this would be the cheapest CE / 18+ Fairground set ever! So what could it include? Imo a big ride is for this price excluded. You remember the abandonned Food Stands on Ideas? They didn't show up in the Bricklink Ideas Program. So maybe Lego gives us some sort of fairground accessory pack with a food stand, a drinks stand, a shootings gallery and a candy stand? What do you think?

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

Thank you very much for the new, @ChrisW! That's really bad news! This set would have been that perfect - since the first time in City we would have gotten a decent sized crook's hideout. Plus I so well could have used this building as a laboratory. And the police car (and helicopter) would have added some more diversity to police vehicles. I really do not understand TLG's decision: (What we can judge from the one picture we've seen) There was nothing (more) very cruel or rowdyish in this set (than in any other City set with crooks). And if it was because of the giant brick-built dynamite: 1. TLG could easily have removed it. 2. In nearly every City set the crooks use dynamite. Does this now mean that we'll never see any (decent sized) crook's hideout (anymore)?! I started a new topic - We want the amazing 60278 Crook's Hideout Raid! - who is disappointed by 60278 got cancelled and wants to see this set get real, please join in there - thanks!

LEGO IDEAS - The Medieval Blacksmith

Without doubts the house looks nice. Plus mainly the carriage, the minifigures and the new colored horse are brilliant. But, like I already feared, this set is not of interest for me: over-detailed exterior looks more like BlueBrixx or Cobi than like Lego closed back and even no hinge mechanism to have two houses with open backs (like e. g. in 10193) because of these the set doesn't fit together with 10193 and the Kingdoms sets 150 Euros for only a 2,5 floors big building is usury

Wow, so far this looks amazing!

    [MOC] The Village Post Office

That's a stunning MOC! It has so many realistic and lovely details outside as well as inside plus has an open back which would make it go perfectly with City sets - I'd buy this as an Ideas set and therefore voted for it.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

I agree that some Australian animals would be great, too (esp. the kangaroo you mentioned) - plus of course animals from all over the world, on land, in water and in the sky. But since TLG needs to work profitable, I can't imagine the Wildlife theme taking part in different regions of the world since this would require too many new moulds which then are only used in one set each. So I bet that theme is based on safari / savannah since this is what is likely the most known and popular wildlife and even the subtheme under wildlife we have been demanding the last year the most. I count on one recolored animal (e. g. zebra), an animal using an alrealdy existing body part and only a new part for the head (e. g. male lion) and two completely new animal moulds (e. g. giraffe and suricate). Plus of course some already existing birds, snakes and spiders - maybe even in new colors. Well, we'll see.

LEGO Creator 2021 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

The only thing I'm really disappointed about is that there isn't going to be a single townhouse in the vain of 31097 Townhouse Pet Shop & Café (imo the best Creator 3 in 1 set ever) or 31105 Townhouse Toy Store this year! The last years these always have been the Creator (3 in 1) sets I really have been looking for and mostly have bought them, too, because they have gone perfectly with City houses. In contrast, this year's safari tree hut and surfer beach house sadly have closed backwalls. Yes, the beach house has that hinge mechanism - but (like the pictures show) when you move it in the position that the back of the hut is open to see its interior and then display it this way, the house looks really weird. So I hope that this summer TLG then will release at least a D2C Creator set like 40305 Lego Brand Store (but this time please not again a Lego Store but a different store)!

    Seasonal 2021

According to stonewars there's going to be another (likely) GWP: 40502 The Brick Moulding Machine - GWP (with 85 or 150 Euros - depending on its size) ? - April / May / June ? (Stonewars thinks that it already may be released in March, but with the other GWPs above I can't imagine that.) Btw: Thanks for the picture of the Easter Bunny, @JintaiZ! Imo it looks very nice and has a completely new style while sitting on all four pads.

    LEGO 10294 Titanic Discussion

Thank you very much for the news! A Titanic could indeed be great. But what always has been fascinating me about the Titanic is less the outside of the ship but more its amazing interior. So I hope that the Lego version of it either will have one side closed and one side open to look at the interior (imo the unlikelier version) or to be closed all around but have some sections to put out to see some of the most popular interior sections like the bis stairs with the clock, the bridge, the carport, the sports room, an indoor swimming-pool, an engine room and a room of the first, second and third class - due to the size of the ship everything of course needed supposably to be built in microfigure (not minifigure) size. Would you like some interior, too?

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

60300-60302 will be the regular sold Wildlife sets. Since 60300 Wildlife Operations is rumored to be already 100 Euros, I bet it'll be the flagship set of this subtheme. So I guess that 60307 Wildlife Camp with its rumored 120 Euros is going to be this year's summer D2C set (like the rocket assembly and launch in 2019). Since within the Stunts and Wildlife subthemes there are already some big sets, I'd count on the Police set to be not a big but a medium sized set. Earlier some here supposed that it will be a big mobile command unit (which may well be since last year there was "only" a small one). Or - since there doesn't seem to be a single civilian set / house in summer - I could imagine a police mission at a museum break-in or jewelry break-in. PS: When looking at pictures of safari, they often show that classic sunset with giraffes and these typical savannah trees. So I really hope that both elements will be included in the Wildlife sets! Plus I must say that the Stunt Show Arena will - if anyway - only be interesting for me if it included a big grandstand and a TV team.

    Friends 2021 - Rumours & Discussion

Yes, you're absolutely right: 1. Indeed this year the style of the Friends houses increases much. 2. I, too, combine City with Creator 3 in 1 houses and even some Friends houses mainly we til now haven't gotten in City so far (beach hut, juice bar, ...). 3. I bet that it'll be an elementary school, too.

    Future Castle Sets?

I completely agree with you - that's what I meant. "Non-fantasy" in Lego's themes of course doesn't mean hundred percent historic accurateness, but the absence of fantasy creatures (like in Castle 2007-2009) and no video game look (like in Castle 2013). So the last "non-fantasy" Castle theme was Kingdoms (2010-12) - imo the best Castle theme ever.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

I completely agree with you! There are enough AFOLs like you and me which aren't that glad with many regular City sets but which don't want modular builings. In between there's a big gap: City style houses with open backs but more depth, more floors and more civilian oriented (shops, apartments and offices) and specialized vehicles (e. g. commuter train, fire fighting train, pleasure cruiser, big container ship). But I think we should discuss this better in the "Ideas for new City sets" topic - otherwise we're getting too much off-topic. ?

LEGO Creator 2021 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Oh no! ? I hope you get it built up soon again. Unluckily we have to count with brick built animals ... I sadly see no moulded animals in a Creator 3 in 1 set. But I hope that I'm wrong. For sure it will have two building alternates. I agree in the village square as alternate build. But I don't see a windmill - perhaps there could be a blacksmith shop or farm instead.

    Future Castle Sets?

I disliked the 2013 Castle theme: The minifigs looked to colorful and cartoonish and the castle looked like a license from a vieo game. Imo Kingdoms was the til now most historical accurate and nicest looking Castle theme of this century with even some great civilian sets. And the Medieval Market Village was of course stunning, too. See below. Since the set name is "Medieval Castle", I'd das it's obvious that the set will be a non-fantasy castle looking like in the Middle Age.

LEGO Creator 2021 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

I completely agree with you which concerns the UFO carousel, @RichardGoring. But I personally fear that the Ferris Wheel will look strange and too small - esp. next to the Creator Expert one. Nevertheless I count on a very nice alternate fairground ride as the second and / or third building possibility. Btw: Because of Friends getting a whole fairground subtheme and here in Creator 3 in 1 being a ferris wheel, I hope that there'll be a fairground set in the 18+ series nevertheless, too - only not if it would be done as bad as the "Haunted House" last year (which I didn't buy).

Latest news about Lego animal moulds

Yes, I completely agree to you. Because of last year's Safari Offroad Truck with the lioness in City and because safari / savannah is very popular, I'd count on savannah animals such as you listed. But of course the setting can be completely anywhere else or there could be different settings and types of animals such as @Robert8 suggested. Mayybe TLG reprints the deer as a gazelle and / or the horse as a zebra.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

Ok ... I didn't think of that possibility, but yes, it could be. The only thing which speaks against it is that TLG tries to include new moulds in more sets than only one - think of the hammerhead shark or the stingray last year. On the other side there was the piranha and the new printed big shark which each were in only one set. So, let's see. Yes, one set could be like the Ski Resort which was available regular but was announced already very shortly before its release. I completely agree with the overpriced sets! If only TLG kept all these road plates out of the sets, the sets would be cheaper - but again the big sets too expensive and the bikes anyway.

    Friends 2021 - Rumours & Discussion

Thanks for the information, @Gobias1234! Although they seem to be only re-designs, 41679 Forest House, 41682 HLC School and 41684 HLC Grand Hotel could be interesting. I hope that TLG will design them in a completely different way, e. g. the Forest House as a big hut and the HLC School and Grand Hotel as modern buildings with flat roofs. Well, we'll see ...

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

Ah thanks, ok - so let's hope so. (I mean: Let's hope that they will be regular sold civilian sets. The road plates can willingly kept out since I dislike them - but of course TLG will include them.)

    Future Castle Sets?

There's good news for us Castle fans: Promobricks posted that in summer there's going to be 31120 Creator 3 in 1 Medieval Castle. I bet that it will be similar in price, size and build-up like last year's Creator 3 in 1 Pirates Ship. Do you think that the Medieval Castle will include the new Black Falcon torsos from the Ideas Blacksmith Shop?
