Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

there is no standard. just like real buildings range from 8ft to 10ft or so. you can't say there is a when there isnt considering the pattern of release vs retired, i think it is a corner since brick bank is gone we typically get 2 straight modulars, followed by a corner. and were due for a corner

im hoping it is art deco. these can still be found in New York City. they have apartments above. but beyond that, art deco looks great on certain building types

all it says is CREATOR GARAGE but my assumption is a mechanics garage, with a door similar to firehall modular. i have no picture of the set, yet.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I think he answered this question before, and someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think he said no. I would pay for instructions for this gorgeous design.
  8. Can someone re-upload the LXF file for the 6973 Deep Freeze Defender that was posted here? the link is dead. :(
  9. You are correct. There would be too much friction from the lopsided car dragging on one end. I want to know if it will affect the coaster negatively or not if I increase the train size to 5 cars per train.
  10. the odd size is contributed by the overhang on the top left of the coaster. if you notice, the coaster has a decent overhang from the base. the main base looks like its 96 studs or 6 16x16 plates wide. The ferriswheel also has an overhang on both sides also, Legonerd54321, nice catch, you must have eyes of a hawk, I can't even see the image that clearly.
  11. why don't we have a Like button? Thanks for the info!! I am so excited and I already know the price. $384.99 is what the euro price translates to. No piece count but I am guessing between 3,000-3,500 pieces. I am getting this set on VIP Early Release, I don't care what my credit balance is at LOL
  12. For everyone saying the background of the coaster image is a hint. It’s not. Its the same background they have used for the box art since the first fairground set, the Fairground Mixer. There is a possibility of a free fall ride or a tilt-a-whirl could be next. But also I noticed that this set is definitely going to cost more than the Jokers Mansion set. And they are likely releasing the 3-in-1 version for kids while this one will likely be aimed at 16+ and priced much higher. There is a track pack coming but its all grey tracks but it does include a coaster train of 3 cars for €20. It’s available now at Legoland Billund. Also if people are wondering about size. Put two ferris wheel sets together side by side and there is your size.
  13. Already have one. Legoland Billund released it for €19.99. Its all grey track though. 4 straight rails, 8 curves. And 3 coaster train cars. Doesn’t have any drop rails though. I think they released it early though. Too early likely.
  14. Leaked photos including the ones that leaked for the Ferris wheel before release made it look bad. Official images come out a few days later (usually a Friday) when they showed them, I changed my mind about not getting it. I hope this Rollercoaster is not deeper than the ferriswheel. If it is the same depth, it will fit nicely on my display shelf. I cannot wait! Lego is really eating my wallet this year. And after this Rollercoaster we still have Voltron coming, another pricey set. Coaster is estimated to be $350 USD and €320

    2018 Lego Trains

It's not snot. I even made this to prove it. https://www.flickr.com/photos/78612483@N04/38856785585/sizes/o/ as far as the person asking about a station. I find it odd that they don't have one listed in the set list that was leaked. so the rumor about a modular train station seems more likely then, which means next year. Notice the box art does not look at anything like that. it has the same shape and design as the bottom of the current PF battery box (the AAA box) the box above is NOT compatible with that design. The edges do not have the same design so they are not compatible. The box shows a brand new battery box with built in wireless and what looks like knobs or something on top. This finally will eliminate the annoying sounding IR receivers. They sounded so annoying. If you made the train go slow, the IR receiver made a stupid noise, but if you made the speed faster, the noise would not be made. WeDo 2.0 is not what will be used for the trains. if they did they would have to make new train motors that are compatible with it. the connectors are not at all the same, they are plugs, not brick connectors.

From what I see the battery box and the controller is built into one big piece with what looks like knobs on the top almost look like domes but too flat to be domes. I think it’s a Bluetooth powered box.

    2018 Lego Trains

The snot description is wrong. There are no snot techniques in this set. The original design had an inverted windshield to make it look like a French engine. That leak has proven to be inaccurate. The green freight engine is also based on American engine with a dual cab that was built for Europe. However it uses a Southern railway color scheme we used here on our F7 diesels. Of which this engine is based. The new mold for the passenger engine is not a new mold at all. It’s an existing piece but it’s painted partially to make it look like it has a window. It’s an existing windshield piece found on bricklink/brickowl.

    2018 Lego Trains

I don't think it's anyone inside Lego. I think that since they produce parts and sets in China, that is how they get access to those designs and molds. When you see manufacturers have things made in China, they are duplicated without the logos for Chinese marketplace because of the laws there. You cannot sell Lego in China that is why there are so many knock off brands. The counterfeit sets skyrocketed when they opened a factory in China and started to have molds made in China.

I forgot to change that back to Europe, sue me. Also, I noticed most of your posts either start out with "Sorry" or "I don't mean to be" so no, you are not sorry. You are a pessimist that only trolls posts that have errors and then you get off with correcting them. and to answer someone elses question about the nose on the new passenger engine, it's using this part but its looking like they either printed on it, or it will have a big sticker similar to that of the last passenger train. https://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-windscreen-12-x-6-x-6-curved-with-pin-holes-41881

    2018 Lego Trains

I just found the leaked images of the engines for those sets. The passenger train is similar to last years train, but its less pleasant looking... it kinda resembles the Eurostar bullet train the Diesel for the cargo train is an old diesel from Europe (dual cab = front and back) but we saw the engine being sold by MEmodels for a pretty penny. Lego's version is pretty plain from the looks of it. I think also they will be discontinuing the Flex track, the info given on this thread along with set numbers seems to point that direction. here is what the Passenger train will be based on (same colors): and the diesel for the Cargo train will be colored teal, and be based on this:

2018 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Do we know if that track pack is for the trains or the roller coaster? If Lego introduces new curves and straight pieces for the trains, my head will explode, especially if they introduce new radii. I had a feeling 2018 we would get new trains. Yay! I hope they aren't disappointing though. Do we know if Lego is going to be the NYC Toy Fair again this year? they showed off the new trains there back in 2014

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I have to say something, especially since this is inspired by American culture. The Diner is of a 1950s style called “Art Deco”. It was a very popular style in the 1940-60s. Even our trains and cars began to use the styling. The Diner itself is very similar to a diner called Mel’s Diner in the West coast. (Minus the apartment building above) The bright colors are supposed to mimick the neon lights that were used at the time for signage and decoration. I love this modular, I plan to buy 2 and merge them into 1 big XL modular like I did with my brick bank. And for the the guy that said the designer doesn’t know about the history of the modulars, I think they did that on purpose as a teaser. The video was heavily edited, I doubt they would have left that in there if it was a mistake. The fact he said “we don’t have a hotel, we need a hotel”. Even the music changed during that comment like it was an intentional tease. To me the design of the Cafe Corner is a Cafe not a Hotel. It says Hotel but the main focus is on the Cafe. Just like the Detective Office is the main focus and not the apartments above. The Brick Bank is the main focus, not the laundrymat. He was likely referring to a full on Hotel focused modular. You guys really rush to judgement when you really don’t know for sure if that is the case. Stuff like this is what makes me hate AFOLs. They are so stuck up and think they know it all.

    [MOC] Modular Train station

I don't normally like all white buildings in LEGO but your station is an exception. Well done! Nice small footprint, great detail, and the size is a great match for the modular style. Well Done! Bravo!! I hope to see more of your work! Have you thought of selling instructions for your build? or the digital file so others can build it? Thanks for sharing this!
  25. I hope its an entirely new set like they did with the Ferris Wheel.
