I like the way they turned out. A little shiny, looks as if it has just finished raining. Matt lamination might work for that. Love the little city and the critter crossing.

Looks like a great build. Could you re-post the last step of the instructions though? Picture no longer seems to be available.

Thanks for responding. I can't wait to try this out.

That is a great road but too parts intensive for me. Really love your layout though. To Tkatt, did you print the roads at 100% scale and do they fit the standard 4 wide city car and 6 wide trucks well enough?

Does anyone play brickwars?
legoguy1984 replied to Durins Bane's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
My brothers and I have been developing our own fantasy based game borrowing from other games things we like. Lego being the medium for figures and the like obviously on a printed board we are designing. More co-op and turn based. -
Medieval Village 10193 - still worth it?

One of the best sets ever. If you are a castle fan this is a must have. I was lucky enough to get one but really want another. -
Where to buy or how to make a LEGO logo wall decal
legoguy1984 replied to Kim72's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Get the largest image you can find using the search tools in Google or recreate it by downloading the fonts. Then find a print shop that prints onto vynil and the job is done. You might even think of wallpaper, some shops can print on that too. -
Island project: how to create water and reefs
legoguy1984 replied to Captain Hannibal Joost's topic in Pirate MOCs
I've seen some builds where the "water" was empty space and the sides were clear to see in. Unfortunately I can't remember any of the names but this way will give you a above and below view. -

What were you treated too for Christmas?
legoguy1984 replied to Peasantseverywhere's topic in Community
Some really sweet hauls this year. My wife and I purchased the Doctor Who set together and she gave me the minifigure encyclopedia and Minifigures year by year books. On a side note why is Christmas not celebrated in the Netherlands so much? -
Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

Friends is also great for this. New hair (if you don't like the minidolls) the grass pieces and RED apples make the sunshine harvest a good choice and there are lots of accessories and parts that is useful in plenty other sets. -

Are Clone Lego Brands bad for LEGO?
legoguy1984 replied to The Steward's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In our area where I stay, most of the people there are in a lower income group and therefore don't have lots of extra money to spend on luxury items such as Lego. The local Reggies (part of the Toys R Us group) sent all lego stock to their other branches as sales were bad. Now they stock Benboa, Megablocks and other cheaper competitive brands. I don't think this has hurt Lego as a company. As other Reggies stores in other areas will continue to sell Lego but it does make it harder for me when I need my fix. Maybe Lego could learn from these other companies or they might end up pricing themselves out of the mainstream markets.- 70 replies

Welcome. Nice to see a fellow South African here.

Thanks for fixing. Looks really good.

Or a light brick and a trans orange minifigure for Merlock. It might be too expensive though.

What got you into collecting Lego as an Adult?
legoguy1984 replied to badchriss's topic in Community
Pretty much the usual story for me. Entered my dark ages in high school and stayed away from Lego for a long time. Had no interest for me whatsoever. Then my then girlfriend (and now lovely wife) bought me a castle set knowing I like fantasy and medieval history as well as building things with my hands so Lego seemed logical. I was immediately hooked and haven't looked back since, though she might have regretted getting me started ;). -
I'm liking this quite a bit. I share a lot of sentiments with the Castle guys but looking at this theme from a non-castle perspective and it is really good. Loving Clays Blade Cruiser, the Kings Mech and those horse-bikes. Face prints for the knights look great and the bad guys are totally bad-megablocks. Can't wait to see what the ultimate sets look like.

As a kid I wanted female figs too but didn't want to get a "girly" set to get them it seems to make sense how they are marketing things now but would prefer to have them more mixed. Elves does seem to be a great theme but the minidolls don't work for me. On a seperate note I did see an oven toy in store that had a boy "baking" on the box. So some companies aren't scared to try something new.
