I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

If lego gives you the prizes, they would possibly make a message board.

If the new contest is about scale modeling or model team rather than technic then ...

I simply don't have any LEGO system parts. And shipping them to me usually takes like a month or so and since I don't build much that kind of investment is mostly unpractical. But hey! TC12!!!

Pull-back contest idea again

Name: Pulling back your vehicle!

Rule

You need build 2 vehicle and it's combine model which using pull back motor.

One one-road vehicle(like F1 or leman racer), One off-road vehicle(like buggy car or monster truck).(like lego's offical pullback model)

Max tire size is 56. Not allowed if over 56.(56x26=ok, 56x28=ok. 62.4x20=no)

Each model must use less than 200 parts.

Not allowed other actuator.(like linear, pneumatic, any electronic...)

Can use only 1 pull-back motor each vehicle.(combine model allow 2)

Can using gear but less than 3 in one vehicle.(combine model allow 6)

Walking vehicle and catapiller is not allowed. Only using tire and wheel.

Uhh, that has been mentioned many times before, and by many people before. I think if it was to happen, it will eventually.

I also disagree with the restrictions.

I would say:

  • 2 models, unrestricted genre.
  • Combined model.
  • Under 400 combined.
  • Max 56mm tire
  • No size limit.
  • Video of speed.

Good description of why you chose your car.

IMO:

size limits are silly (but I understand why you have them)

Limitations on what is inside the model is silly

One pull-back motor is what is similar between all of the contestants (I understand that)

Why 2 vehicles?  Are you trying to go for something like the LEGO sets where the pullbacks to combine?

I don't know about a contest like this.  I mean how many people here have a pullback motor?

I like the idea of a pullback motor contest, but I think the rules suggested above are too strict. Here's what I would suggest:

Pullback Motor contest - make a MOC powered by pullback motors!

  • No size limit.
  • Can be any type of vehicle.
  • No other power sources allowed. (pneumatic, electronic, manually powered)
  • Only original Lego pullback motors - no rubber bands or springs.

I have pretty lot of pullback motors ... so I'm in. Pullback sets also are pretty cheap, so I don't see big problem here.

I would welcome more serious contest for change - we had two contest with quite similar mood, to build something not represented in real world/crazy/wacky etc. Please not another crazy "Pullback" contest. I'm all in for something like TC9? "Build a crane".

I personally don't vote because the voting thing is complicated. What i want is just a poll with the contestants names in and i'll simply pick the one i like the most.
The whole distribution of numbers gets too confusing to learn.

I am absolutely in favor of doing something with GBC, but I am not sure it should be a contest.

There will be a pullback contest somewhere a long the line. But it will not be the next contest.

GBC is like Mindstorms....a niche audience here on EB.

Following the Whacky Wheels Contest, we can have a Whacky Wings Contest, in which contestants are required to build an aircraft with a wacky function.

And maybe Whacky Watercraft Contest also.
