  1. Welcome aboard, carnegeddon.
  2. One of my LUG member's motto is "go big or go home". I don't think LEGO releasing larger and larger sets is a problem for me. If the set doesn't fit my requirements, then I don't buy it. Nothing personal, just business.
  3. Very nice. That is an interesting way connect all those 1x1 bricks.
  4. Nice find, I bought that camper and boat, 8 and 7 years ago.
  5. Welcome to Eurobricks, Pepijn.
  6. Would it be possible to mold the wheels in two colours? Silver or light gray for the parts that touch the rails and the rest in another colour?
  7. Not sure yet. Robot arm, GBC, slot machine? I bought an extra EV3 large motor for double VIP points week (June 30th to July 6th).
  8. Nice. Look forward to seeing them in action.
  9. TLG didn't motorize the Monster Fighter Ghost Train either. This set is similar to Ghost Train. No tracks were provided and it wasn't intended to run on tracks. But still people did their own thing and motorized Ghost Train for track running.
  10. There is something satisfying about kitbashing versus buying ready-to-run.
  11. The new real world is Bureauracy of the Brick Seas.
  12. Mindstorm EV3
  13. You may not be able to charge for the documents themselves but you can probably charge for the service provided of finding them and gathering them so that the customer paying didn't have to do all that work.
  14. I like Technic and Friends. Bucket Wheel Excavator GBC by dr_spock_888, on Flickr It is good that recent Friends sets provide functions like ski lifts, working garage door with Technic pieces.
  15. Aren't there 48x48 transclear base plates that are not generally available to the public? Polycarbonate has low shrink when cooling compared to ABS. The PC part would be larger than the ABS part if made from the same mold. The difference would be proportional to the size of the part. For big part, it can be enough that they won't fit together within LEGO tolerances.
  16. My style hasn't changed all that much as I didn't have Technic as kid. I think my style has become more friendly. My builds are what parts I have in stock at the time. I never got the Bricklink addiction. I still like showing some studs. 2010 Trailer by dr_spock_888, on Flickr 2016 Bucket Wheel Excavator GBC by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  17. I had the power level of the motor set to 50% so that it had ample time to detect the color tiles on the tracks. If I set it too fast and it missed the color tile detection, it would go over the edge of my table. That could make a more interesting video. My daughter had to use Arduino for group project. None of her team members programmed before. They struggled through it. Thanks. Maybe you can turn it into a Cat Boost Train. I didn't notice the PowerUp train app requesting location services turned on. But then again I didn't have the new train set to connect to. So it is better to use your mistress's smartphone if you're going over to play Boost with your other children? Maybe Debbie Macomber could put that in her romance novels.
  18. Welcome aboard, Johannes. You have some nice creations.
  19. Nicely done. It is kind of like that last century's VW Golf model with the multi-color panels.
  20. A fellow LUG member loaned me a LEGO Boost motor hub, motor and color sensor to play around for a few days. I thought I do something silly and make a train with it. I programmed it to play train pong. I prefer my Arduino Power Function version. Unlike the Boost App, it doesn't need location services turned on or else it won't work. Why is that?
  21. Writing your own apps may be the better way to go in some situations.
  22. Great job on the bow. They are dressed for success. If you're not totally pure, a bit of metal wire inside the flex tube can help shape them.
  23. For Technic sets, be sure the pieces needed to build the B model are included. Some times, there are "extra" pieces not used in the A model.
