You could get mostly orange balls and throw in a couple printed basketballs and soccer balls to the mix. That might help with the ball costs. Also people can follow a ball through the modules. LEGO balls are consistent in size and weight. 3rd party balls can vary slightly in size and weight which could be problematic if your module functions depend on an exact size and/or weight of the ball.

Epic first photo. The waves and ship look great. You captured the impending darkness well.

Oh so close. Does black cat means bad luck? Nice build. That guy with the hands up looks like Kai NRG's Guy K. Wyndzon character. Maybe it's the hair.

Maybe it was the right ship after all and it was so over laden with gold that the water line was dangerously low.

I can still read my LEGO instruction booklets from the 1980s. Wish I can say the same for my Beta video tapes and 8" floppy disks. Who knows what's going to happen to PDF format and devices that can still read them 30 years from now? Some are smart enough now to keep track of who is printing and how many pages so that cost can be charged back to your department. Not good if your manager scrutinize all your costs.

There is no complete of all the special tags. Some of them are explained here in this topic: Best to ask about the ones you want to know about.

Thank you all. Thanks. There is saying, dead parrots tell no tales or was it tell no location of the ESL Treasure Fleet? Thanks. It is more why it is taking them so long to respond with which islands they have selected.

Excellent ships and presentation of a sea battle. You can feel the damage from chain-shots on the masts and rigging. Grapeshots are nasty on the folks at the receiving end. Poor pirates.

Great monkey statue. Good story with a touch of Beatles. Not sure about the friendliness of the islanders. Those banana suit guys look impaled.

[ESL - FB5 - KMA] He's a Lumberjack and he's okay
dr_spock replied to Legostone's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great little vignette. The organ is cool. If you ever come to Canada, I have a dead tree branch at ~12 meters up that needs to be pruned. -
The syntax has changed. It think this could work: Replace the &st=50#entry with &do=findComment&comment= www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=133743&do=findComment&comment=2579365 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=133743&do=findComment&comment=2579365

Welcome to Eurobricks, Nick.

This is my build for SHIPtember 2016. It was very much a build as I go. I had no formal plans, no drawings, no budget to buy parts. I had some LEGO sails and wanted to do something with them. Yo-ho, the Queen Stephanie is a light sail ship. She quietly sails in the darkness of space in search of booty to plunder and pillage. She is armed with 12 dual turbo laser turrets and a single BLW (Big Laser Weapon). She has a fore skull for ramming. The ramming skull has to be raised before the BLW can be fired. Most of her prizes will surrender without the BLW having to fire a single shot which is a wise course of action. And Brickshelf is back.

There is preview button. It is the last icon on the editor menu. It allows you to preview in desktop, tablet or phone.

At 1 meter, is that in scale with the Creator space shuttle from a few years ago? Who will be first to MOC a crawler and lauch platform for it?
-
It seems kind of weird. I can't get to Brickshelf website interface but my deeplinked pictures still shows up here on EB.

EV3 GBC starter module?
dr_spock replied to Huaojozu's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Don't like mixing sets would limit you but it can be done. The Bucket Wheel Excavator is good starting point. It is a set with some minor tweaks will work as a GBC. You would have to build an input for it to scoop up the balls.- 10 replies

How to make good pictures ?
dr_spock replied to Alex Ilea's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Check out the Photography Index in the General section: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/133592-lego-photography-index/ We have also a Technic Photography topic here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=110840 You can post a sample of your pictures for guidance. If your picture is the way you like it out of the camera, then there is no need to edit them. -
I have sold my muffler eating Honda. All I have left are VWs. Since I only have VWs, I thought it would be worthwhile to invest in a VW specific diag tool. I have a generic OBDII reader but it doesn't read manufacturer specific codes like ABS, etc. I found a less expensive alternative to the VAG-COM scan tool called OBDEleven. It is a small dongle that plugs into the OBDII port and communicates via bluetooth with your Android device like phone or tablet. It will read VW and Audi specific codes from various modules. You can also program features in the car if you know which byte/bit and location to change or you can buy little apps for OBDEleven that do the hard work for you. It is a pretty powerful diagnostic tool for $60USD. Given how much a dealer charge for reading a code, it'll pay for itself with one or two uses.

Thank you all for the hard work. I'm liking the new filtering features. The new software provides more granularity on ignoring users. You can block an individual users' -Posts -Messages -Signature -Mentions So if someone has a huge bandwidth eating signature, you can block only his signature and still read his posts and messages. You don't have to block everyone's signature like before.

Welcome aboard, Walter.
