[SR] Wu Shoot Gang of Charlatan Bay
dr_spock replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yup, one can't judge a book by its cover. Thanks. They could be practitoners of stoicism. Perhaps they are secret Star Trekkie Vulcans. -
The leaders of the faction you joined can help you with the details and stuf. So which faction are you joining?

MINI CHALLENGE - Gangs of Charlatan Bay (WINNER ANNOUNCED)
dr_spock replied to Kwatchi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The Wu Shoot Gang -
Build for the Mini-Challenge. This is the Wu Shoot gang of Charlatan Bay. They specialize in the fine art of assassination, kidnapping, extortion and general mischief. They also run the Wu Shoot school. The leader and founder of the gang is Master Wu. He is a 20th dan master of Wu Shoot. Sensei Li is his right hand man. Li is a 10th dan student of Master Wu. He has a special way to encourage people talk with his Persuader. Pistol Pete is the youngest member of gang. He is skilled in pick pocketing and the double pistol technique. The Double Arrow Twins are really twins. They have eyes like a hawk and are just as deadly accurate. There are rumours that they moonlight in Double Spearmint gum newspaper ads.

Sounds like "Does LEGO make female minifigures too sexy?" should be the topic. You can use Brasso to remove the printing or make your own custom figs if LEGO's representation doesn't suit your needs or personal values.

Long Term Sail Storage (advice, tips, and tricks?)
dr_spock replied to Lord Valgor's topic in LEGO Pirates
I stored my QAR sails flat in a cardboard box for a over a year before I found a use for them. If you live in a rainy area or by the sea or store in a damp basement, it would be worthwhile to protect them from moisture and prevent mold spores from landing on the sail surface. Mold needs moisture to grow along with temperature above freezing and a food source like cotton fabric, wood, paper, etc. QAR sails feel like coated fabric. -
Been out of the loop, what have I missed.

It's more Technic style I think. Here is the linky: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/139035-tc10-classic-locomotive/ -
Tight clearance is fine. It is like that in real life with old tunnels. Just be sure your dispatcher doesn't send an oversize load through it.

Lovely layout. How long does it take your LUG to set up on location? Does it take longer every year?

Welcome back. You just missed a Technic Pneumatic contest over in our Technic Forum. Someone else built a pneumatic train engine. -
You could get some more tracks or train station for the passengers. LEGO currently sells extra tracks in a switch track set and a straight track plus flex track set. 60051 is a good crash train. Mostly one piece nose means less looking for small parts when rebuilding.

Nice render. It has a spooky feel.

[SR-FB1] - Oct '616 - Improving Prospects
dr_spock replied to Kwatchi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice build. Interesting rock technique. Congrats on finding gold. Liza and her family will be happy. -
Nice work. A bunch of them together could make a good viaduct. Bley might be better a term to use in the train forum for the light blue grey colour. LBG is too close to LGB.

I am not much of a set collector any more. I do like that 2015 has bluecoats to complement the redcoats I bought in 2009. Now I am properly equiped for a Tournament of Retribution. So when is the next ToR? If LEGO release some greencoats, it would be good for the Brethen of the Brick Seas.
