Before we go into too many directions and systems for keeping track of things. We should decide on what information we want to see and collect. Currently all ship license submission goes into a Google Form that feeds into a backend spreadsheet. I don't think you can attached files directly into Google Forms. Maybe some Google App Script Kung Fu can have a popup to allow submitters to put a ship photo onto a Google Drive. Submitters wouldn't need a Google account. Additional columns could be added to the spreadsheet to track status and new owners, etc. Those columns could be manually maintained by our BoBS Accountant when he updates people's account after the MRCA results or a transaction form submission. The spreadsheet could then be used as the accurate data source to autogenerate Maxim's topic content or Elostirion website.

Oh, that would be the air conditioning ceiling vents blowing down on them. Actually, I pointed them way so that there is more free space around the fishes and map and dart board.. Also to have balance and harmony like a BoBS piratey version of Chinese Feng Shui.

I finally got a chance to order some Power Functions on the new site. It's colorful. Clicking around I eventually found the Power Functions under Extras section. Not too bad, just have to get used to where things got moved around to. On ordering, it was not clear that the faded square outline next to the agreement to the T&C had to be checked before the Submit button is active. Took a couple minutes to figure that one out. I found an error in the order description with the shipped confirmation email. VAT should be HST or GST or PST + GST depending on your province of residence. Update: Yay, my back ordered Power Functions train motors and AAA battery boxes have shipped.

Staff views on knock-off discussion and promotion

Fair enough. Discussion of their products is not allowed. Would discussion of lawsuits against them by LEGO be a permitted topic? -
Staff views on knock-off discussion and promotion

Would it be possible for EB staff to provide and maintain a list of no-discuss companies so that anyone can look up and know which ones not to discuss? LEPIN is one. What are the other ones? -
Very nice. You did a great job on the "U boat" I like that the cab can fit in an engineer. The old coupler magnets can be ordered from Bricklink. Be careful not to swallow two or more of them or one with steel/iron parts. If they pinched your intestines, it can cause serious internal damage and require surgery to fix.

I don't know off the top of my head. You can try their contact email address, lego@viclug.ca, to inquire.

Welcome aboard fellow Canuck. I think your closest LUG is VICLUG? They are based in Victoria.

Ships bought from another player are subject to the cost multiplier. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/118542-by-sea-ships-and-the-monthly-raiding-and-commerce-action-in-the-egs/ It would be like selling it to him/her for $0 or he captured the ship from you. He/she may be charged the cost multiplier if that ship bring his/her ship total above 3. For the 4th ship, it is 50% of the ship's class license fee.

It is not black and white. Legally, there are shades of grey technicalities. Copyright, patent, IP laws are country specific. Court ruling in one country may not have any legal enforcement in another country if the other country didn't sign an international treaty or trade agreement to abide by similar IP laws or the IP wasn't copyrighted or patented in that other country. Best a country can do sometimes is to block the other country's bootleg products from entering into their country by having their customs search and seize at ports of entry.

ESL's deal looks nicer than MAR's 100 DB for warships and keeping the captured ship for 15% of value. Does full possession include the cargo on the captured ship?

Crashing trains is fine as long as it is not my trains. You have some bad track buckling. Send out your MOW crew. Or were they meant to be hidden jump ramps?

LEGO Aquarium
dr_spock replied to MajorAlvega's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Neat. Steel nuts work but they can rust over time if you don't protect them. I had Megablok Halo builds in an aquarium with live fishes. It didn't take long before things started growing on them. Since it was MB, I didn't care too much.- 7 replies

[COR - Octoberfest] The art of swordfighting
dr_spock replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice. Fenced fencing. Swinging a sword is still useful for boarding ships in the BoBS era and fighting in tight quarters aboard a ship. Not that much for the shield if you are holding a pistol in the other hand. -
3/4 Versus 1/2 Pins
dr_spock replied to nerdsforprez's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Interesting, I never thought of using 1/2 pins to connect liftarms together. Learn something new. I use 1/2 pins mainly to connect standard system pieces to lift arms and technic bricks and various SNOT things. I find the 3/4 provides a much stronger connection to the thin lift arms. They work great too for connecting thin liftarms to large train wheel drivers if you MOC steam trains. -
Welcome aboard, Selina. The spouse can be a challenge sometimes.

It was discussed over in the Lepin topic over in the Community Forum -> http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/140382-lepin-brings-out-monster-fighters-haunted-house-16007/&do=findComment&comment=2671812 No need to duplicate it here.

There is probably a market for MOC kits. It's more convenient than buying instructions and then trying to find and buy all the pieces on Blicklink or other sources and deal with multiple orders and shipping charges. Maybe if somebody took the time to follow along and made an LDD file. It may not be worth a company's time to pay someone to do that. But if a fan of your work did and posted it online, then it could be grabbed.

Don't make instructions or LDD files available would be the easiest way. Not having too many detailed pictures online would also make it harder to reverse engineer a complex MOC.
