Truck Trial Courses
JM1971 replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm still gatering stuff for a , got the wood and glue, just need thin foam and black vinyl, god I'm lazy but will get there in the end. -
Thats a good idea, I've seen these salt water cars around on amazon but I think they make hydrogen, lol. Attach a valve from a bicycle inner tube to a pop bottle top, pump it up, connect the bike pump attachment to the lego pipes and then onto the valve, similar to a bottle rocket but with no water... http://www.bbc.co.uk...lerockets.shtml

I can see piter making a dry ice fighting robot in the future. I just rememberd the sodastream fizzy drinks maker, the empty co2 canisters you can take to supermarkets and swap for a full one for a small fee, I think you can make dry ice with these. http://www.amazon.co.uk/SodaStream-Spare-Litre-Gas-Cylinder/dp/B005ERICB8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395831493&sr=8-1&keywords=soda+stream+canister

Post POV Ray decal / sticker adding
JM1971 replied to garethjellis's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I would also like to know this, the warp function of photoshop could do this but it would look a lot better if it was part of the render. At a guess when using ldd2pov check 'Declare Each Brick Separatley' in the scene tab, find the brick you want to add texture to in the .pov file and add the texture. -
Night it is, do you think it needs a moon?

[Software] LDD2PovRay
JM1971 replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Try contacting the guy that made LDD2POV... http://ldd2povray.lddtools.com/index.php?p=1_10_Contact He's quite helpful. -
For the rendering section one picture is allowed and one only, I can't decide which one though.

Batteryless Power Functions
JM1971 replied to Captainowie's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Controllers need far too many batteries, there should be connectors so when you attach more than one together they all run off one unit or a psu.- 21 replies

I wonder if 4 actuators connected to 4 m-motors from set 8043 could do the job, will have to find out. -

9398 - New Body
JM1971 replied to haiout's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The 9398 and 51999 are a tad too heavy for the suspension and both lean slightly to one side, this lighter design appears not to lean at all, I like the headlights, rear light and overall shape, that competition was such a learning experience.
