  1. Nice, it's a rather robust building for a "classic" scale... Are more floors in the works? If not, any "sky-scraper-like" plan in the works? And yeah, that photocopier rocks!
  2. MOC: Green Public Bus I wanted to follow up my Charter Bus with a different type of bus. What the Charter Bus is to the 8404 bus, this bus is to the 7641/60026 Bus. Same door mechanics as my Charter Bus. Same waterslide decal solutions as my Barnes and Noble MOC. Wasabi District's Public Bus - Green in more ways than one. Electric powered and uses solar panels for clean energy! Oh, and, uhhh, that website is real. Official announcement on my Wasabi District thread soon!
  3. Very awesome, like a modular-sized version of the most recent set. Take one for the CITY/Town team and may you get best individual layout in BW'13!
  4. That's turned out to be a massive rescue center! Looks like your eventual layout's minifgs will be much safer with this impressive piece. By the way, here in the USA doctor's cars look like Porsche Turbos And with those HVAC units, my district just got some tax revenue! /roleplay
  5. Hi---unfortunately I have changed that file... though I'm prepared in the next week or so to show a preview in LDD. I have been converting it from a 48x32 corner into many different sizes, eventually settling in for a 32-wide non-corner. It's almost useless to describe further, so all I can say is please stay tuned
  6. What kind of 'feel' do you want for your little district? Rural? (houses, lots of greens, barns and machinery dealers) Industrial? (not as much greens, big buildings, offices) Commercial? (Shops, shops, maybe a park, modern-style apartments)
  7. This is insane, awesome, and somewhat unfair It's darn near scale-model like in detail. The scaffolding, pipeline, brickwork is all excellent!
  8. Sure it's there to be shared
  9. bump Finally finished a reverse-built LDD version. 99% accurate (some of the Jamie-style 'cheating' can't be done in LDD) I just opened a Brickshelf account, so here's the LXF file if anyone wants to poke around with it. Almost 4600 pieces LOL, I guess I underestimated it vastly.
  10. Very nice! Now that's a worthy and original police station. Realistic drab colors---the buildings themselves dont need to be painted like the cars lol
  11. ^I have a full stud width center console between my minifig seats on top of secure jumper plates. I basically crammed a 5-wide interior in a 6-wide chassis
  12. How interesting! Anyways, I just tried what you said but it's a really tight fit for the arms on the door sides; being only half a stud closer to the edge (though in my images the arms are raised too high)... But yeah, I don't mind it much though
  13. Very nice. It's a nice unique roof solution there, and the SNOT techniques makes it a smooth looking build. Love buses in general, and I think it's awesome there's a but of a bus fest this weekend
  14. Thanks all! Glad you guys like it. I remember seeing the mechanism somewhere else, so it's not completely original But it's pretty much similar to what you'd see in real charter buses. Hah, nice. Must be the minifigs urging a ride to their spring break destination
  15. MOC: Charter Bus The very first "MOC" in LDD was a bus. Always wanted to make one, but 7641 and 8402 happened around the time I was rediscovering LEGO, so I put the bus plans in the shelf. Eventually, I became confident that I can make a new bus that's better looking This started as a mod to the 8404 bus, which was more "coach" like than the public transport 7641. While windows, arches and other pieces are common, this is built different from that 8404 bus. I hope you guys like it Please offer suggestions too. I hope to keep this thread going (like the Wasabi District thread) with new Vehicle MOCs.
  16. The side "paint scheme" is nice. It's a monstrous size--I think you can get away 10-wide-ing that!
  17. Some of you guys are too harsh on the 60026, and I don't understand... I still think it's one of the best CITY sets to have been released in a while, granted we've gotten a lot more fire and police lately. Maybe because it was first thought to be the second coming of 10184 or something...
  18. ^Looks like we already got that as a third of the Public Transport Set.
  19. I like it---It reminds me of an old building in downtown that got refurbished when a new tenant had moved in.
  20. Town Square is the most anticipated CITY set in quite some time! The public bus definitely looks better than the City Corner version (I don't compare the Public Trans. bus since that looks more like a coach/tour bus). They've come up with more buses in the last 4 years than they ever had! Also, the bike shop. It's nice, but what's more interesting is just I know... I KNOW... talents in here and in flickr are already drawing up ideas to give their 32x32 corner modular version of the bike shop. The interpretations will be interesting! All in all, I like all the other releases too, like Cargo, Coast Guard and motorsports. Hopefully TLG should note, now that Friends have sucked up some of the CITY/Town essentials, that there are more ways to give CITY more "action" than just endless Fire/Police rehashes! These releases are still something that boys, IMO, should like!
  21. I like the tall building! Quite an energetic little layout you got there.
  22. It's a super nice (and pricey!) layout; unique city infrastructure and layout may as well be considered custom. do you have still images of your overall layout floating around on the net somewhere?
  23. Not counting Market Street... there may be a pattern. 2007 - corner, business - Cafe Corner 2008 - retail, residential - Green Grocer 2009 - government building - Fire Brigade 2010 - corner, business - Grand Emporium 2011 - retail, residential - Pet Shop 2012 - government building - Town Hall 2013 - corner, business - Palace Cinema 2014 - ??? retail, residential ??? Maybe we'll see something that finally rivals the Green Grocer? I thought Pet Shop had the theme to do that, but IMO one great big building > 2 smaller good buildings.
  24. Thank you all for you support, here in EB, or over on Flickr and CUUSOO. Here's me playing around with my 3 largest MOCs. After putting the Midtown Condo up (biggest one facing backwards) I accidentally dropped the first floor and smashed half of it. After some angst and focus, I was able to rebuild it. But uncomfortably, I had a couple of pieces left over and I can't remember where it was supposed to be, though it looked alright Hopefully it wasn't of structural significance But here's my actual planned layout, updated for 2014. It's super ambitious, stretching up to 100 inches (10 x 7 of 32x32 baseplates) and possibly won't be realized until I move and get a bigger room for them 1. Midtown Condominiums 2. Avenue Residences 3. Barnes & Noble /Starbucks 4. Cheesecake Factory (or a steakhouse; I haven't decided what it would be yet but I am already building it/deciding what color it should be). WIP. 5. Tech Store (Apple? Windows?) Proposed 6. LEGO Store. Proposed 7. Hardware / Furniture Store? (Something like a home improvement store? Shouls be around the size of the bookstore), Proposed 8. Flagship Hotel/Apartment (I think it's actually happening, I've already accumulated lots of window pieces and white bricks and dark bluish grey plates, and have done facade prototypes, yet I only have 25-30% of the pieces I'd need as an estimate. But it's happening.) WIP. 9. Park (It's happening too, though I haven't started it)
  25. Thanks for the support, all! And thanks for the advice! I wasn't going to put an actual lxf download file on Cuusoo, though I was to show a screenshot of a digital version. But maybe I won't put it there upon further review---my Cafe Corner-style arches on the corner entrance, AFAIK, is already "illegal". I have to think about it. It's sitting at 62/10,000 supporters right now and amidst an impressive and innovative group of ideas, so it's nothing I'm too worried about right now (though I will say again appreciate the support!), at worst they may visit my flickr page and/or boost my view rating/ego
