Wall decoration is unique, I like it when I see something rare and innovative even if we're all using the same bricks A fan of dark grey walls, it balances the other 'bright' buildings adjacent to it---well done!
-
Massive modulars beyond the scope of 32-wide... my kind of jam This is fantastic!!! The colors are perfect for this kind of building---drab but realistic.

You sure know how to grab a headline, I thought you were done with the hobby

My favorite is there's a lot of greenery---something pleasant to balance the greys and stone colors.

It's a good start. More close-ups of the MOCs please?

Nice work and interior details like the tire rack... Will it eventually include a garage?

Well which ones would look the best / most accurate without stickers? For me it's LaFerrari and the 911s. But since 911s arent in a $15 box then 918 gets the nod. the P1 is easily the worst for me IMO, even moreso without stickers.

Just an FYI it's following the same pattern as the Grand Emporium last year (it was gone by fall). They gave me OOS/30 days warning but still got the product within 2 weeks (disclaimer: I live 25 miles away from their main warehouse, everything I order is overnight shipping) Just be thankful it's not like the Town Hall, which just disappeared!

Very nice---I could have done away with the painting but I'm just a tad bit more purist. It's an interesting take on the side view (one I'm struggling with while doing my own LDD thing); one thing I would do differently is add a stud or two for the long tail version.

Here's a few random shots: Also, some other shots --- Now, in my next vacation I will try to revert to my 8-9 year old self and bring LEGO MOC/Speed Champions cars with me.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
wooootles replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
^Friends sets have awesome buildings that can be good subjects for a modular building, though. I'm indifferent about the classic minifig faces, though more females is always better. The absurd popularity of 21110 is reason enough to make more sets (modular or otherwise) with more female minifigs. -
Thanks, guys. I'm going to a LEGO store soon, hope they have some Speed Champs in stock because I ain't paying a TRU tax

Great job on that, esp. the rear. Interesting headlight take. I like it when people tend to the less well-known cars.

You can never really have enough service trucks. I love em and I actually need more of them myself. I mean who's going to tend to that Ferrari that just burst into flames?

Thanks for all the support here and in Flickr, guys, here's my 3rd MOC for this line. 2.) MOC: Audi R8 V10 (03/22/15) My brick interpretation of Audi's everyday supercar. The car holds a special place in my heart since it's the only "supercar" I have actually driven (in a race track no less!) I'll be honest and say I had a bit of problem smoothing out the rear window area. I'm happy at my design right now though. It's #3 for my cars here... And of course an LDD POV-Ray render is included! Link to the real thing Notes: -There are also several Audi R8 MOCs in Flickr that inspired me. The actual car is a unique design and there are different takes on this model in 6-wide, some had smoothness, some had all-out accuracy in expense of minifig seating, some have 2 minifigs able to sit. This is just my take on the Audi. -Yes, the 2nd-gen just bowed out this Geneva Auto show. Right now I still believe the 1st-gen will be the more iconic design, and if I have to interpret the 2nd-gen in bricks, it will largely be the same anyway, with the notable exception of a split "side blade." -I was designing Front-engine supercars, and while interpreting them in brick I can't believe how close they look next to my Z06. Look at this. Doing my Z06 in 6-wide, the front of the other car would look largely similar in bricks! Stay tuned though. Let me know what you guys think! I have 1 more WIP in bricks, then it's off to research what car to do next!

Wow, everything about this is Grade-A fantastic!

Very nice interiors, I might take cues for my next work ---and the building as a whole integrates very well with the official sets If I had to make a suggestion it would be the exterior scheme --- I think the black stripes on white is too strong (It's fine on the front but the back view is too contrasting IMO); I think I would tone it down to a lighter shade (light bley?)

I like it! It's like a different take on Painted Ladies.

Your BMW M3 is spot on, the 4-wideness and the kidney grille captures it perfectly
-
Very nice. I think you've mastered store interiors Also I don't feel so weird buying so many Friends sets; the buildings are just too good

^It's definitely still available on the US version, but if it's anything like the Valentine's set it could go fairly rapidly (I hope not)

I personally think, for the most part, the renditions are fairly accurate. I've building car MOCs too at 6-wide scale lately and like I said there, you still just can't have a perfectly accurately scaled model at 6-wide; it's still to small, but you can get it close. I see/read about a lot of suggestions that the cars look too narrow... I think it's the oversized tire/wheels that are doing it. With those tires, one is tempted to transition it to 8-wide. Making 8-wide will make it look stubby, so you have to lengthen it by 2 studs. At that point, the minifig looks more scaled like a toddler than it already does. And at 8-wide, details are still left out, so a 10-wide would look better, going past the CREATOR car scale. And so on and so forth... I would just be happy that the Speed Champions are here with some new pieces and an inspiration to build cars that are faster/cooler than them ! My favorite look is/are the 911s but unfortunately I have to get the bigger set instead of only splurging $15...

Thanks all 6-wide chassis is still such a small canvas that compromises just have to be made while still maintaining the overall shape and look of the car. Yeah, count me in on the upright seating crew. I can actually sit it one more plate lower but it would be as low as my LMP2 Octan and GT-One, which is about as low as it can go with an upright seating position. I was a little OCD about the relative scale Maybe if I do a C7.R to combat those official Italias and 911s. Not sure. I could have gotten a 4x6 wedge roof piece in yellow so the whole roof area was smooth, but I wanted to have an option of putting in a black (or "carbon fiber")/yellow top like the real Vettes.

Oh I can't believe I missed this----very nice. i can tell by the shaped and curves that it's definitely a GT.

Maybe there won't be much debate on how many of these things we'll see on the road (in real life)... But let me drop some 'Murica in here with my sig fig's car... 2.) MOC: 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (03/08/15) My brick interpretation of the 2015 Corvette Z06 in its trademark yellow, with the Z07/aero package. This is the one American sports car that would give most kinds of European exotic a run for their money, for the fraction of the MSRP. Of course, being 6-wide, it's tough to get every detail correctly, but I think I got most of them down With the GT-One. They were built side-by-side for the most part. Aaaand of course, the LDD POV-Ray render. 99% accurate. Link to the real thing Guys and gals, let me know what you think! I appreciate all the comments and suggestions. I have 2 more in the 6-wide car pipeline coming up!
