  1. Thanks all! Here's one more set of shots: A Suite. Now, I don't think I'm gonna make 8-10x copies of these at the moment, but enjoy the pics of the sample floor. See you there, come by and say hi! Thanks! My Barnes and Noble gave me a sampling of what I can do with hinges and curves! Nice! Should make a good cluster. I'm LDD'ing the second tower adjacent to this already. Thanks!
  2. Thanks again, all! Here's the 1st floor/lobby. Made up of the check-in front desk and a piano bar. Thanks! Hope you appreciate the inside of the first floor also! I will display it alongside my Barnes and Noble Building and Avenue Residences, which dwarf Green Grocer and Grand Emporium, which dwarf Brick bank and Detective's Office Thanks! It's definitely a change from what one would consider a typical LEGO modular building (apart from size); tried to make the design clean without making it look boring.Hope you guys enjoy the latest images!
  3. Thanks all! Here's some more photos of the 2nd floor: 5-Star Restaurant. Thanks! The plan is to -not- do all floors, but do all -unique floors. Being a hotel, I see about 10 floors that in theory should look identical, and I don't have the further finances to do something like that. Thanks! Haha I started off that way. Like I said above, I'll do all the unique floors (top floor, lobby, restaurant, gym etc etc) and have one sample suite. Thanks! It's no doubt the crown jewel of my LEGO 'career'!Tomorrow I'll get photographs of the lobby! Check my flickr account ( wooootles ) and my instagram account ( wooootles ) to see some more of my works!
  4. I like them! Dark red and tellow is my favorite. You should consider building a 6561 style shop!
  5. Here's my latest creation, something I've always wanted to do since I was... 8 years old? I'm getting it ready right for Brickworld 2016. With 18 stories, measuring over 6 feet tall and more than 9,000 bricks, this is by far my largest creation. Since it's an absolute hassle to move around, the interior shots will come in later (though you might have seen a few already in my WIP thread). But for now, enjoy the exterior shots. Stay tuned for the interior shots! And this won't be the last skyscraper in the Wasabi District; I'm already planning a second tower adjacent to the One Azure!
  6. Thanks! Trying to finalize road designs right now while waiting on final interior pieces (skyscraper is almost done!). Here's the main road: 6/01/16 A bit of a SoCal vibe going on, I suppose that's how Wasabi District would feel like.
  7. Thanks for the comments guys! Here's another update, the restaurant. Supposed to be some 5-star fancy chop house deal. This is the 2nd floor of my hotel/suites skyscraper. Main lobby is still WIP, and roads are also still WIP. I'm about 2 weeks away from completing this skyscraper. I also update on Instagram (follow 'wooootles'!)
  8. 5/16/2016 - I've done some work on the kitchen/dining and bedroom area of my big hotel MOC. Kitchen/dining Bedroom Lobby/restaurant area is WIP, so my MOC can't stand as it is, but I'm trying to haul it! While I wait for pieces, my next update will probably be the roads again.
  9. ============================================= Hello, all, This is a new Wasabi District Thread, since my layout concepts have changed quite a bit since I last posted anything about Wasabi District. I decided to post up a new one since I have decided at the last second to actually bring a layout to Brickworld 2016! So, I have already put a couple of pics on Flickr the past few days, but from here on out I will also update this thread. To start: Here are the Cars of Wasabi District, most of which I will be bringing to the show, And the Trucks of Wasabi District, some of which I will also bring. And here are the WIP stuff: The trees. I want to put a more temperate, vibe. The roads. Instead of having parallel parking space in the main road, I have instead substituted a dedicated bike lane in green, and the pedestrian crosswalk in brick/dark red. And my big skyscraper building progress. This will be the hotel's top floor, a sky lounge that includes a bar and an observatory. So there's what I got for now! I am building a few floors concurrently, as well as completing the road system. I will update this thread with Brickworld progress, and then also add more updates on my layout in general. I have about 4 weeks left, so I am rushing! Hope I get it ready in time for Brickworld. Post your comments and suggestions! Thanks for looking.
  10. That gas station looks a little odd for not having a 32x32 plate. I might pick up at least 2 of those park sets!
  11. Very nice! It's a good mod on the base set. The interior is very nice! My suggestion, if permanently lining up with the $150+ Expert sets, is to bump up the roof height of the 1st floor by about 4 brick heights.
  12. Nice to see more American-style architecture in modular form. It's very nice!
  13. 7641, 8404, 60026. All retired, though.
  14. Agreed, but a clinic/drug store combo might work. Has there been a drug store in LEGO form lately?
  15. ^Nice! Honored! Grateful to see some love with my MOC as it nearly hits its 1st anniversary of posting it up!
  16. I've always thought that CITY is due for a big hospital (the level of the $100USD Fire/Police sets) but recently I think the Friends line is more likely to pick up that line. Let's be honest, the January sets will be something like an obscure Fire/Police line (like the swamp sets)
  17. Impressive layout! Meanwhile I'm struggling to come up with a single 32x32 square myself
  18. Aside from the few key elements like wheels, chassis, windshields etc... and the wing assembly it's pretty much a brand new build.
  19. I use 6-wide mostly for everything in terms of chassis width (i.e. not including things like fenders and side mirrors), with some 4-5 wide cars (Like Emmet's City Car), though I'm tempted to bump my bigger trucks to 7 or 8 wide, but that just means I have to widen my roads and make my big buildings even bigger to scale. I'm not too thrilled with changing all that
  20. Thanks for looking! As far as headlights, that's actually not connected to the flat 1x2 tile below; there's a 87087 1x1 snot brick to which it's connected to. (the only stud you see in the front hood of the car!) And of course, 1-2/3 brick height is equal to 2 studs in length, hence it sits flush.
  21. This is the first batch in a LONG time... that CITY, in my opinion, beats Friends! The Gas Station is a little bit small, but IMO easily expandable. But the minifigure set is all kinds of victory. CITY could use more plain civilians and less workers/government types/race car drivers.
  22. Gas Station!!! With CITY being a line full of vehicles and occasionally a building or two, this one is sorely needed. Also, I wonder what Fun in the Park involves? A playground of some sort?
  23. Nothing can be more American
  24. Haha, The Z06 finally shows up! I gotta say it's the best looking car out of that entire line, full stop. There's no question that's a Corvette. I'll be biased and say I still like my version better , but hey, I might mix-and-match. It's cool that aside from the usual Speed Champion elements some design cues from it and my version are the same. At least, more similar than my R8 vs TLG's R8.
  25. Haven't posted in this thread in a while, but If they can give us those 3-story glass building Police and Fire buildings all the time, I wouldn't mind a $120 Hospital set. I'm fine with accepting the fact that the Supermarkets and specialty stores are relegated to Friends, but I would prefer a CITY Hospital over a potential Heartlake variant.
