Hi all, Here's a couple of vehicle MOCs that I have finished---my interpretation of a typical American muscle car. This MOC was done with my 6-wide chassis/5-wide body style/1-seater that I have used a few times already. Idea was born when I was modifying the yellow covertible in LEGO 8404... But when I decided I need two versions of this thing, I tried to water down the yellow car on gimmicks and make a new car (white/black accents) with all the aero/go-fast gimmicks. This is the rest of the set in this LINK = MOC: Pony Car! Let me know what you guys think!

What else can I say that hasn't been said? This piece is superb in many many ways. Big fan of the brick work. The most attractive thing in that MOC is that gas price, though

Woot, I bit the bullet and booked Westin I plan to bring town buildings, and once that MOC is finished and arranged for, the next step would be the 9-hour drive from Memphis TN some months from now -
Very nice. You just can't beat wood tiling
-
Like the garage, will definitely buy it. It will fit into the modular line with some beefing up.
-
This is an amazing modular, a great addition. -Price is justified, because it is noticeably larger than the rest of the series, as well as that 2700 piece count. -With price/piece ratio out of the way, I would say $200 is still justified because it's the modular line, one of the few 'extreme/super high end' LEGO sets tailored at an older audience. Not like $150 is cheap, either. It's like worried that the price of the new Lamborghini is now $400k instead of the $300k last time around. -It's less flashy in terms of architectural detail that the rest of the line. It's ok to me, IMO, because it's huge anyway, it doesn't need the extra attention it would get -Green Grocer is still the best. That set may as well be the modular line's ATG (all time great) -Astrid

Heck, I'd sleep in under one of the MOC tables fo' free if I was allowed to But since I'm traveling alone I suppose it doesn't hurt to pay a bit of premium on a meh customer service hotel, in exchange of being literally closer to the action and the LEGO people. I might try this hotel. The worst that could happen is me cancelling if I decide Westin wasn't worth it, right? -

Question for out-of-towners who have been to this convention before: Does the hotel typically get fully reserved the time of convention? Right now, I'm still trying to figure out whether to say a few bucks by going to a cheaper hotel and just driving a few miles to the convention everyday... OR: Just go with the convenience of staying right where the convention is. Still thinking about the options right now, but I don't want to wait until the hotel is fully booked and force me to stay somewhere else as the only option... -
Green Grocer is superior to all of the other modular buildings. I won't argue its subjective looks, which, while awesome, there's also Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium which have stunning architectural styles. I'll argue GG is technically the best, as it has arguably the most detailed rear (fire escape), so far the best price/piece ratio, and still the only modular building that has a fully tiled and decorated floor and interior on the first floor (only 1 of pet shop's buildings is fully tiled)
-
It's very cool, but mysterious, even spooky. It's like a sci-fi monolith something you'd see in the Matrix...
-
no no, that looks typical, actually; taco trailers in LA look like that lol I do think the not-so-clean image fits the MOC nicely.

Hey guys and gals, I registered for Brickworld for the first time. Gonna be a long nine-hour drive, but I'm sure it'll be worth it. I plan to bring a building MOC and maybe a few smaller ones :D -

I have to say it looks great, though if a bit predictable. Those dark flesh/orange/whatever will be of interest for MOCers. Definitely didn't expect it to see so early this year. Good addition - better than 10218 because I think this will have the size going for it... Probably the tallest modular, too.
-
More pieces is more awesome. I, for one, prematurely welcome Town Hall with its 2766 piece count. Because I love my LEGO piece count high
-
Yeah I suppose I can understand those 1x1 SNOT bricks and 2x4 tiles are still rare and expensive...
-
Aww, I thought this posted example (the pillar) was just about the perfect example to flex one's SNOT muscle
-
LEGO has been amazingly airtight concerning these big modular sets: Aside from very very few members here in EB, no one else saw Grand Emporium and Pet Shop until LEGO officially unveiled them to the public.

Thanks :D Looks like the color is beginning to be more favorable than I thought :D Thanks, I might try that

Thanks for the comments everyone. I can maybe make an underground racing scene as I make more sporty cars like these

Digging the fire SUV. but then I'm biased on the current CITY scale vehicles...

My latest MOC: Sports Coupe! Sports Coupe by wooootles, on Flickr All five pictures are on this flickr page: Right here! Again, I have a huge MOC under construction but this car is somewhat a product of me taking breaks from that. Comments? Thanks for looking!
-
Sure. Point is, the wheels won't lock up with that design, but yeah, I think you and I have spare 2x4 plates that we could wedge into the chassis for that tall "truck-like" feeling.
-
Yes, nothing to worry about there. The current "small cars" which use those tires and arches leave that much space and can still turn freely. In fact I have my car MOCs with that clearance. http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8402-1 <- example.
