  1. $10? That's worth it for the minifig, the crab and the dog, IMO. I'm pretty sure that car won't be rolling around my town anytime soon, lol
  2. I have once thought about actually building a town/CITY-Spec version of this bookstore about the size of the 31026 CREATOR set, keeping it detailed but making it smaller and open backed, but I haven't seriously done anything on that front; I'm invested in building my oversized, unfit-for-production modular building MOCs
  3. Haha, I'm somewhat glad that my Barnes and Noble / Starbucks building still gets a little bit of notoriety!!! I guess you guys haven't seen the angry deleted comments on Ideas that I just "copied" Grand Emporium because it too is a 3-story store building with escalators I appreciate thesupports, and would have loved to get more, sure, but the reality is that at 4000+ pieces it's a $300 USD set (at least) if approved... Plus branded stores, it's really tough to get it approved, I think. I wanted to see how high it would have gotten, though Thanks for the supports, all!
  4. Town squares are all the rage nowadays huh? Good job doing the octagonal shape I have 2 cups of dark tan tiles doing nothing, maybe it's calling to be a town square lol
  5. Good job, for some reason you exemplified both less is more (simple modernist exterior) and MORE is more (lots of interior detail, pieces) Will this someday translate to the real thing?
  6. Nice rendition of the real thing. May I suggest using 1x2x2 and/or 1x2x3 white windows instead of clear 1x2 bricks though?
  7. I think you did an awesome job with the limited baseplate space, good job putting enough hustle and bustle in it
  8. Wow, that is quite a square? Imposing size there. It's just ripe for different scenarios! Good job
  9. I like it. Reminds me of the 'big' police/fire/medic buildings' floor plans/baseplate in the '90s, but with the modern 4429 architecture.
  10. The only complaint I have is I end up with a pink box and pay almost $0.20 USD/piece after taxes... Well, $0.20/very good unique pieces, anyways.
  11. Well the trend during that era is how far one can bend the rules---911GT1, CLK-GTR, R390 etc... They were all LMP cars masquerading as 'street legal' cars lol. I don't know if they ever took the real GT-One to the streets, but Wasabi District will definitely have one of the cars prancing around!
  12. Thanks very much, all! I have two more Speed Champions 'challengers' in progress and a Friends 41091 mod. Stay tuned, all
  13. The CARS of WASABI DISTRICT 6/27/17 - JEEP WRANGLER ADDED! Hey all, I'm following up my Octan One LMP Race Car with some more Car MOCs, but I will instead compile them in this thread. These will be the actual cars tooling around my WIP-Wasabi District. First off, my Octan One LMP Car is not street legal, but this one would be (in the loosest of terms): 1.) MOC: Toyota GT-One Road Car (03/02/15) Toyota's entry in LeMans in the late 90's. This car is also one of the fastest and most expensive cars if you've played Sony's earlier Gran Turismo games. It's kinda like an achievement when you finally get this car. (It didn't do so hot in the actual LeMans races, but hey, it looks cool) This one shot with my other MOC And a LDD POV-Ray Render! (about 99% accurate) Link to the real thing A worthy challenger to the Speed Champions? Guys and gals, let me know what you think! Also, I will be updating this thread from time to time with more of my car MOCs, so please check on this thread! Also, Here's my Truck thread
  14. Mine is Wasabi District --- I build relatively oversized minifig-scale buildings and roads so my 'town' won't actually include everything that a town/city needs, just a 'district'
  15. Looks like a throwback---I remember building something like this (but smaller) with my 90s LEGO BASIC sets! I don't think this one fits in my town but I wish I can snag one for nostalgia's sake---too bad the nearest LEGO store is 3 hours away. At least I hope it shows up on S@H soon.
  16. Thanks all! Cool! I'm actually contemplating updating mine using the LaFerrari canopy.
  17. Copying a 4-wide car is very tough, so with that I think you did a good job making it look like an old BMW.
  18. ^Thanks! Hoping to get an update on my town soon Anyways, I suppose I shouldn't talk since I did get juggernauts like the 6597 when I was a kid, but then my parents actually wanted to build the darned thing with me Good chance those parents buying big sets "for their kids" are AFOL's too
  19. Makes me wonder if sets like these are actually being bought for their little children, or if it's closer to being a closet AFOL kit.
  20. I like that you didn't throw bright and loud colors at the exterior, even if it's a candy shop. Seems realistic and the interior its top tier. Good job!
  21. I like this one, a lot. All the lawn mowers and gadgets are great.
  22. Very nice! love how the buildings in the background are actually smaller in scale, but works so well in this photo. Good job
  23. Thanks all! See, I did not know that. Thanks! 1x1 trans-clear tiles are scarce in my inventory at the moment, but when I find 'em I'll change them!
  24. Very nice - love the amount of detail within such a small footprint.
  25. So really the only thing keeping the Grand Hotel from being a CREATOR expert kit is a back wall, and perhaps a few plates in between. That looks like it has an elevator shaft there. It'd be funny and sad at the same time if the Friends line beats the CITY line to a skyscraper condo-style building.
