    LDD Truck

This is the product of me tooling around in my computer after taking a break from building my Cafe Corner (freaking awesome set btw) Notes: -While it's supposed to be scaled with most 6-wide LEGO CITY trucks the cabin of this one goes up to 7 and 8 studs wide. Counting side-mirrors most '6-wide' LEGO trucks are 8-wide anyway -Borrowed the color scheme of Model Team 5571... that and LDD doesn't offer any other choices anyway (only red doors) -Also guessed and attempted to copy the opening hood/bonnet of 7686 -I can't seem, for the life of me, to put a minifig to sit on the seats. But I'm sure in real life it would fit two minifigs, trust me! hehe -It's a whopping $70USD if I order it using Design-by-me, horrible. Cheaper if I buy the parts individually from LEGO.com, even more so when I do it from Bricklink (provided I can find a store that carries all the parts) Comments? Criticisms? Thanks!
  2. Love the interior, love the pool. Suggestion: That this is a beach house, I expected more glass windows viewing the beach.
  3. Wha? Merged topics? Ok, I vote Green Grocer again! Also, I just got Cafe Corner. Thus it's probably my second favorite
  4. Wow, that is quite something! It's nice that you also found just the right PaB elements!
  5. I really hope the current police sets go the distance. We don't need newly revamped police sets every 2-3 years. From what I understand, the current police car used to be a last-gen police set integrated to the current police set (black police markings to blue) so that's good.
  6. Guy who just walked in has a more "A-HA!" face, I think. This is funny stuff
  7. About Market Street: One of its best features is the price. You get Cafe Corner style scale, detail and intricacy for a lower price point. Though aside from the FACTORY boxart, I don't feel it belongs to the exclusives on the poll, as they seem to have only one each year: CC on 07, GG on 08 and Fire Brigade 09. who knows, next year we might get an exclusive Police Station to end all LEGO Police Stations (at least for me; Fire Brigade ended all fire stations, even the new 2010 one, except for the fire trucks)
  8. Good for you (and LEGO, not for your wallet) I just placed an order for CC as well (I was going to have it as a b-day present for myself, but that plan is accelerated due to the posts in this thread )
  9. Let's see: -Cafe Corner is probably the most iconic of the three, and is one of the most inspiring sets LEGO has ever released, probably changing the way people customized their creations into a whole new level -Green Grocer took everything good from CC and improved upon it, with better interior and back with details -Fire Brigade isn't much of a technical upgrade from GG but it's definitely an awesome looking set as well. ... I vote for Green Grocer. CC is inspiring and innovative, I'll give it that, but GG has about 300 more pieces for only $10 more, and the 1st-floor interior is just flat out amazing. I know all these sets are old-fashioned, but CC and GG can easily integrate into a present-day setting, while FB couldn't with that truck. (The building itself can though) I'll own all 3 though (1/3)
  10. Thanks for the welcome guys, hehe Yeah, been buying 2-3 sets a week, and it's only getting worse, and TRU Bricktober just beckons me Looking at those, but I'm trying to get the smaller fire/police/rescue vehicles first. Construction sets have the biggest vehicles! Ah well. Meanwhile I have the four unopened sets, so that should tide me over for the next week... I hope.
  11. Hello Eurobricks! I've just gotten into a recent shopping spree of LEGO the past month. I've been dormant for the past 10 years (pretty much stopped wanting them since I was 12), although I kept up with LEGO releases. I'd say the Lego Town designs during the late 90s-early 00's turned me off so I refrained from getting them. Things have turned for the better the past few years, and I am digging the 6-wide truck designs, but still never bought anything. Then Cafe Corner and the other modulars came out, and I really loved the design, and still never gave in, since it's too expensive. However, last month or so they dropped Green Grocer for 120 USD AND Free shipping, I snatched it. Needless to say it was a wallet epidemic as I quickly bought a slew of LEGO CITY sets just to have a supporting cast for the Grocer. My old roadplates with 8 studs on each side were simply no match for the size of these huge trucks. Even my old airport building from the 90s look rather small compared to my City Corner Pizza place, and its 4-wide plane looks awkward next to my 6-wide bus. Still, I like the size increase, although I probably won't use my old LEGO sets as they were to put right next to my Green Grocer. Here's what I got, so far (The yellow truck was bought in 07 and it was just an impulse buy for me and never really sparked my interest in LEGO, it's scale is off next to my true 6-wide trucks. Pizza building's scale still way off next to the Grocer cop car and a backup an old bin of bricks I'm using to mod my current sets Tow truck modded with yellow lights; City Corner building gained a few bricks in height. I plan to make it Green-Grocer style in size in the future, and will have closed back. I put Mr. BBQ stand guy's equipment there as well. ...And an old MOC, please pardon the dust. The body of the car is from the Octan Gas Station in the 90s, the spoiler in the back is from some race truck in the 90s, UFO clear pieces, and the wheels and TECHNIC pieces are from an old semi Model Team. As you can see, no (new) roadplates yet, I do have the Garbage Truck, as well as a minifig collection set, a police copter and a free tractor I picked up today (not included)...and they won't be the last. Thanks for looking!
