I declined the opportunity to get a MISB monorail accessory track from a tiny Toy Shop in Wales about 10 years ago, At the time I did not have a monorail, so did not see the point, it's probably still sitting there, if only I could remember where it was! Also I guess for not picking up 4 or 5 Cafe Corners for resale, it could have funded my LEGO addiction for the next 2/3 years! Also for not buying a few more of those Technic Cars with the Power Puller tyres, they were in the Discount Tent for £40 each at Legoland Windsor.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
paul_delahaye replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Shame they did not opt for 9 Raindeer, a must buy none the less -
Pleased with the winner, it was my top choice. I'm sorry but I did not even recall seeing the second place entry! lol, So what is the reason for the Specialised Mountain Bike being discontinued? It looked amazing.

My Minifigure came sealed in a bag?!
paul_delahaye replied to PikaManiac's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've definately had bricks from sellers packed in this way, it's never concerned me, actually it probably is cheaper for them to pack them this way rather than buying loads of seal seal poly bags. -
adding lights to the cargo train will not be an easy task, :-(

I quietly sit and hope they might bring out some supplement sets to go with this years trains as well as a creator expert train

Which Themes Deserve a Reboot?
paul_delahaye replied to Lancethecat's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think Classic Space and Divers, I have a sneaky feeling they are testing the water for a Classic Space reboot with the Benny's spaceship and the promo giveaway at shop at home for the first week of July!- 438 replies

Looks like you have a few parts from the technic backhoe 8862, front and rear bucket, front wheel, pneumatic cylinder, but there definitely does not look enough to build the entire set.

lol, the lengths Lego will go to to ensure it's difficult for collectors of an entire sub-theme to call their collection complete

I agree, the exhibition was over in New York when I was over visiting at Christmas, so we went along, whilst his scupltures are no doubt impressive, (especially the TREX), I too found myself trying to make the visit last longer than it did. Maybe as a AFOL, I struggle to see my hobby as art, maybe this is the issue? To me they are a construction tool/toy. I go along to steam and pay £10, and can make that last 2 - 3 hours or more easily, I personally prefer to see all the AFOL built models. This was not for me. Paul

This is quite interesting, I gave negative feedback following a recent Lego Store purchase and it ended in a couple of emails back and forth with the lego store manager when I made the purchase, I commented that the pick a brick was poor and a bit of variety rather than 2 x 4's would be nice, and they replied saying that the reason for all the 2 x 4's is because all the lowest pick a brick holes have to contain large bricks so that any small child who visits the store and is not being supervised by their parents, cannot pick up a small usefull lego brick and try and swallow it! that's the reason apparently for every pick a brick wall containing loads of 2x4's. A worker at Legoland Windsor once told me they sandblast the models which removes a thin layer of plastic, making them look brighter again, but they can only do this 2 / 3 times per model otherwise the bricks would disappear. Not sure how true it is as the last time I visited Legoland Windsor, most of miniland looked quite tired. Shame as this is my favourite part of the park

I agree, I had a 1 x 6 white tile missing from the fairground mixer set and now the instruction manual from my Ecto 1 set has fallen apart during the initial built, only about 20 pages in, and that was with me being careful as I'd read i can fall apart. Not impressed, it's not like we are buying cheap and cheerful Megablocks here, we have all chosen to pay a premium for a premium product. Paul

Why is the Series 1 Zombie so expensive?
paul_delahaye replied to Transparency for Effect's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Why is the Series 1 Zombie so expensive? I've always put it down to it being because it's the 1 minifigure (except Mr Gold) which I had but have somehow mislaid!- 43 replies

LEGO Ideas: 21110 Research Institute/Female Minifigure Set
paul_delahaye replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Town
In my mind, this set would have been cooler if the dinosaur skeleton was made from glow in the dark elements -
I guess this could technically be considered the most expensive train ever released by Lego

My disappointment is that the instruction manual by the time we got to about page 30 fell apart, not seen such a poorly bound instruction manual in Lego history, If everyones is like this, I think we could be looking at a free replacement being sent to all Ghostbusters owners. Such a shame as so much effort went into the quality of the manual Paul
