It's ok, but I still seriously question the relevance of this set 18 months after it was in the news, and current?

A few pictures of some of these new pieces from the 2014 sets, they might not be new to everyone, but they are new to me. The most useful piece I think will be this new 2 x 2 round tile with a hole in it.

I read there are now more mini figs in the world than humans, so over 7.2 billion

All the great vehicles sets available in TRU in Times Square, although I always was led to believe the USA got it's lego cheaper than us Brits, but I think the balance in fx is being leveled slowly.

You won't be disappointed, it's a great build, but it will make you want 2 of them!

I guess you have some way to prevent you from putting 12v through those 9v motors?

Got my invite this morning for the Westfield store, west London, but strangely it's for a lego store in the UK which I've never visited? seems a little odd, I would have though they'd have tied it to a store I'd at least shopped in. It must be based on my closest store as the crow flies and not my preferred store unless this means not all stores are taking part in the Promo? or whether they think I should pay that store a visit, trouble is not enough notice and I've already planned something for next Saturday, shame as could have been interesting. I must say the card did not give much away about discount or anything, not even an option to RSVP online, only by phone, very strange. My preference would have been a late evening rather than an early morning.! Be interesting to see what everyone gets free, hope I'm not disappointed! The card did mention a £5k spending limit!

How do you wash your LEGO... Seriously?
paul_delahaye replied to DrJB's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have a small ultrasonic bath, which I use for most of the small technic pieces, although the results are very hit or miss. A good scrubbing brush and water, cleaning brick by brick is the only real option without damaging the bricks, it also allows you to rebuild the set afterwards. -
New Lego stores opening in 2013
paul_delahaye replied to rubberninja's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In the last 10 years, Yes, certainly, in the UK, originally there were 5 Lego Shops Milton Keynes, Brighton, Bluewater, Bull Ring in Birmingham and Kingston. They closed the Kingston and Birminham stores. It makes me wonder if these stores are franchises? I also have a memory from my childhood of a store inside the Friary centre in Guildford Town centre, but I have no way to prove this, -
mmm, another cuusoo project I won't be buying, does not rock my boat, I'd really hoped those shops would have got through, but I guess Lego don't want to pay the royalties Roll on the next review, Go Ghostbusters :-)

What is the value of this signed box?
paul_delahaye replied to Henrik Ludvigsen's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Ultimately, the set is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I guess it depends, some might see that as a damaged box, others will see the worth of the signatures, but I suspect for it to be worth real value, you will need to store it away in the attic for about 20 - 30 years and then re-ask the question on the forums. You don't often see Lego sets signed by designers and owners of Lego, so I'm sure in the right market place, it will be desirable, -
Just curious, has Horizon Express been successful?
paul_delahaye replied to FlyerNut's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I have 2 copies, as everyone says, it's a clever ploy by Lego as nearly all AFOL collectors were always going to want a complete looking train -
I think Cuusoo is floored when it comes to new parts. Although the 10'000 supporter limit seems about right for a complete set, I think it should be nearer 1000 or 2500 supporters for a new eliment. I've seen several great ideas which on Cuusoo for parts which should be made tomorrow, but I fear they will unfortunately never make it through the current 10k supporters process. I support you and wish you all the best with this one. I hope it becomes a reality. Paul

yes, but it's much smaller so I'd hope so

I went today and I too felt there were about 5 good sized displays less than last year which is a real shame, and parking was a lot easier this year! The public numbers were apparently down this year, they had a record attendance in 2012 with over 10'000 people. Saturday's numbers were circa 4'000 this year and one of the traders I spoke with said it was quieter today than yesterday, although in reality, I bet the numbers were still around 3'000 today. As normal though, too many kids pushing in to be able to fully appreciate the models, they should maybe have 2 hours extra on the Saturday evening where it's adults only so they can talk with the exhibitors and be able to view the models in all their glory. As r74 mentions, the castle build was very impressive, I can't believe it was built by a single person, I'm only guessing it was a single builder based on the description card by the display, I did not confirm this with anyone. The Trent Rolls-Royce engine was also impressive. Here are a couple of my favourite pictures from the day. I honestly think this may just have taken the lead as the best modular......Ever! The level of details on all three levels is just superb. I lover the layout of the stairs going up to the different levels.
