  1. hey you two, just for reference, this aint no chat! If you want to talk to each other use the PM system, which would also be the way to approach Z!
  2. I know I've said this before, but your photography is so excellent it's hard to say whether it's real or LDD. Just perfect! PS: Since when do greenhorns hand out UoP credits?
  3. Pretty nice for a Phase I entry! Now hurry up to finish the next two so you can enter the HoM!
  4. Once again a very beautiful creation of you. The texturing, the colors, the photography, everything looks great!
  5. Rather nice for a ship this size! Are you going to give it a stern castle?
  6. Actually, Ecclesiastes is the leader of Mitgardia. I'm just the clown who's trying to get people (preferably Mitgardians) to (free) build during the challenges!
  7. I too am a little worried about this project taking away builders from GoH. So it needs to work somewhat different. In the end though, it all comes down to one's personal collection. Me just having participated in the team challenge showed me that I could do both just as several GoH builders participate in the Eurbricka project. So I've just started on a colonial ketch, but also am finishing a caravel for GoH.
  8. Cool, if Ska is in, I'm in too, in an opposing faction of course Anyway, considering that the number of pirate builders is lower than the number of castle builders, I'd suggest to limit this to no more than three factions.
  9. @Gideon: it sure consumes a hell lot of pieces but it's worth it! I just keep on adding which my Kids love big time. Every second weekend I have to put it together so they can play with it. And, best of all: my wife really loves it too and has agreed that I need to buy more bricks every now and then so I can expand. I also infested some of my colleagues who now keep asking me for ever more pics, especially the art teachers of my school ...
  10. I'm sort of split in my opion. To begin with, it was actually GoH that lured me away from the pirates into the history forum. Up to that point (November 2012) I had mostly posted and build for this forum. When GoH came, I really lost interest in the pirates forum and also shifted my interest in ship building from the 18th to the 15th century. What I liked especially about GoH, was the immidiate feedback you'd recieve for your mocs there, which hasn't always been the case here. I think it wasn't only me though who shifted his attention then, I think the same goes for DC, Z and a bunch of others. So on the one hand, the whole team building contest started my interest in pirates again and just yesterday, I ordered pieces so I can make an attempt at building another 18th century vessel. On the other hand though, I'd fear that if the pirate guild thing was too close to GoH, we'd start to loose members there, which is something I wouldn't like, now that I've become history reg. and am currently trying to get some more naval action started in that project.
  11. I'm actually referring to the legendary tutorial by Capt. Green Hair and modify it for two midsections. Here's a wip shot of the technique (I'm also using different hinges):
  12. Nice way to trick you're wife mate, and a nice build too. I always claim that I build my stuff for the kids too so my lady consents. However, taking things apart has become increasingly difficult this way ...
  13. That is a really cool scene and I'd say its the best you've pu together so far. Love all the action and story telling too, you're the master of story telling around here!
  14. the stern and bow castle look really nice! Ecellent shape and interesting design. As for the mast, I'd stay with two by two round bricks. The four by four seem way too thick for a mast. You can actually stabilize the mast if you include a technic axle in it, like you can see here in my current wip:
  15. Really nice build Jakon! The modularity of that thing is definetely a very cool thing!
  16. guys, if you post you phase III baracks, stable or archery range entries, please make sure that you post a link to the topic in the HoM thread. It keeps things simpler!
  17. First class techniques, very unique yet totally Soccerkid - I love it! Best thing about this have got to be the gables and the window frames though. So congrats on another amazing creation!
  18. Bad timing, I would have like to come, but BMA is the weekend before. And I have more ties to Belug than to any German LUGs.
  19. Ha Gideon, I hadn't noticed yet, congrats on getting THE tag!
  20. This is extremely nice! The way you build these roofs is just some of the best roof building I've ever seen. And, it's good to see there is more to this part of the History Forum than LOTR!
  21. I actually really like this project as I am currently looking into doing something similar. Great inspiration, but I guess mine will be less refined.
  22. @DM: great to hear from you anyway, hope you can shovel out some time for the BMA though!
  23. 32x32 is fine for a phase III entry!
  24. Congrats you two. Glad the best entry won.
  25. I normally don't comment on LDD ships but this one is spectacular. Really love the bow, it looks perfect!
