That is one sweet looking gate Gideon. Hope you find some time to also put together a ship though! -

True, but why would the Mitgardian oak bother whether a boar rubs its back against its trunk? -
nah, it's all cool, I just didn't know that dark tan arches even existed, cool thing they do, might have to get some of my own ...

making sails is actually rather easy. You take an old t-shirt or a cotton grocery bag, dye it in coffee and cut a sail from it, as I did with the sails of my flagship: -
Sebeus' and kabel's entry - The Hunt for the Maya Treasure
-
[pid][/pid] 247B Rumor has it, that somewhere along the coast of the Yucatan peninsula there's a beach that hosts an old Maya treasure hidden in a cave only accessible through an underwater tunnel. It's said Spanish conquistadors hid the gold there some 150 years ago. So our pirate crew undertakes quite an effort to find the entrance to this secret place. However, finding the right cave along the coast of Yucatan is like finding a needle in a haystack. So do you have what it takes to find the treasure? Module Sebeus: Module kabel: Explore the coast with its amazing underwater world: fight off annoying sharks: and find the entrance to a cave: you may also try to fight your way through the dense jungle vegetation: to finally encounter a way to enter the "Cenote Verde", the secret underwater Maya cave: Sebeus' connecting side: kabel's connecting side: Doing this was a lot of fun and an excellent way to get to know each other better. Hope we can do something like this for the Antwerpen Brickmania convention in November. On a side not, we are sorry Sebeus' pics lack a little, but those are his preliminary pcitures. He eventually broke his arm and didn't get to retake them. We also see that the connecting sides lack a little, but we figured that those side would be hidden once connected anyway.

My ships are called "Rose of Asgard" (Asgard is the Nordic paradise) and "Arandela Negra" (Black Swallow), so no HMS, USS, SMS or whatever, medieval ships often had rather private names, my first cog was called "Lady Emma of Valholl" other typical names were Wappen von Lübeck (Sigil of Lübeck) or Santa whatever, hope this helps -
Oh well, that's what I'm here for ...

No that's not it. Mitgardia and Kaliphlin and our central capital are in between, if you study the map close enough!

I like this, the tower reminds me of a tower I've build before and the story is interesting. The only flaw (a common one though): there is no border between Avalonia and Nocturnus!

Yes kiddo, I did say Poop Deck! If I were you, I'd make sure people in an AFOL forum do not nessecarily notice that I was below the age EB says you should have in order to participate here! @Hammerhand: I changed the topic for you. You just say when you are done for good, and I'll remove the WIP again. Keep up the good work!

True, but but we shouldn't leave the ship building process to the pirate forum -

Hull pieces are totally fine! -
Looking pretty good already. But you might want to keep this a wip so you can work in some improvements. So for a carrack, you would have to increase the lenght of the poopdeck to almost the mainmast. The shape would be alright for a cog, but then you would have to remove the other two masts. One more thing abou the main mast, it's usually as tall as the ship's overall lenght.

ah, nice one! At first I thought that the house didn't really look that exciting, but the celler really looks amazing. But the colors you are using there aren't real, right? @Gideon: check out this vineyard

Self made sails and strings are allowed, I'm always using them too. As for historical accuracy, I said think Game of Thrones. Their ships aren't really that accurate either, but they look like they could have been realistic! -

small, but really nice. I especially like the cross cut. So are you also going to put together a larger settlement?

first question was wether this was going to be put to the rest of the village, but you answered that one, second question: the technique for connecting the modules, there are actually several ways to achieve this, and I was wondering which you were going to use as half technic pins tend to be a little tricky
