Weird use color (I usually use blue for water only) but definetely something really cool. And, despite the Kaliphlin setting, an undeniable SK classic!

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
kabel replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Okay guys, time for you to step up and build more ship, Mitgardian dominance is in danger! -
Will I have a place to sleep somewhere though?

cool, lots of people in Chicago then, don't forget to take some cool pics. So guys, do you think we can replicate this on our side of the Atlantic? (In Antwerpen?)

@soccerkid: back into (brick)beast mode? -
hehe, I really like the second pic, very nice snow slope there. I'm not quite sure what to make of the first one tough. However, great to see more mocs of actually landscapes in Mitgardia!

I guess it's because you too were gone for a while. Good to see you back! -
Definetely a great way to start you GoH experience. Nice tower and story!

Thanks for the encouraging feedback guys. Its actually great building in this era again after an almost 2,5 year break. @Seb: I will try to use the prefab masts, but I wonder if they reach high enough. I shall see. And yes, getting to the stern really proves to be a challenge on the small prefabs. @MrT: I've swapped the 1x8 plate for a black one already, definetely an improvement! As for waterline ships, I'm not quite sure yet, I've just bought new prefab hulls so I might as well use them. And regarding my harbor town, it's actually set in the late medieval/early Renaissance period and this ship will not appear there. @Capt.B: I believe that showing wips usually helps quite a bit to improve things. I hate to take everything apart after I started the rigging. So pics from early on should help to mend out the worst flaws. @DoNe: that's what I really like about this era of ships, they always have such nice colorschemes.

ReBrick "Name the Ship" Contest - and the WINNER IS...
kabel replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Such great news! At least one of my two prefered themes is coming back! -
Oh yes, this is great. Love how you build the walls using plates and thus creating this mulitlayer effect of the plaster peeling off in some parts. Awesome, I have to try that too. BTW, where did you get that elephant, Duplo?
-
So do you guys think I should stick this post? Yes I know, there are too many up there already. But I think it'd be cool if it didn't get lost in bowels of this forum.
-
inspired by the team contest I decided it was time for me to come back to the pirate forum. Seems like I finally have enough bricks to work for two themes. Anyway, here's may latest project, an 18th century top sail schooner, based on the USS Hannah. The deck will envtually be tan, as you can see on the one corner. The half fences are what I'm going to use in order to attach the shrouds. The only think I'm not quite sure about is the masts. Somehow I feel like the brick build ones might look a little too thick on the small prefab hulls. I'll see how it turns out.

Very interesting to see. Actually I too just started a top sail shooner. It'd be cool if we exchanged ideas!

Really great moc. I totally dig how you achieved this log house look. Awesome!

HSS: Aden's Gate, Harbormaster and the Minik Akrebi
kabel replied to Mike S's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very nice building, not very Kaliphlin, but absolutely lovely. Looks like I could take it and add it to Thorshaven this very instant. Are you sure this is Aden's Gate? I also like the boat quite a bit! @Ska: why think about it? Go ahead and build your city, the more we have the better! Although I have to say, it was Eccs who started a modularized city first, not me! -
I think at some point we should delete all the comments and close the thread so to have one clear thread people can use to inform themselves. @kai: good to see you guys came through the earthquake unharmed!
-
Oh man, this is really great. This moc screams Tundra! And, I'm really happy the MCB II gets another swing. Thanks a lot for that!
-
@Gideon: of course, sorry for the mixup
-
Very sweet! Great wall and many nice details. On to an even greater phase III entry, we actually haven't had that many phase III archery entries! (neither stables though)

okay guys, I will try to update the first post regularily, but rough be do so too. For instance, I have no idea about the precise date of the Chicago event.
-
Great stuff as always! What I like most though is how you used the bones for breaking waves. Great effect!

@Eccs: So are you going to make it to Antwerpen this Year? @Saint: didn't know you were here too. Looking foward to seeing you again!
