@Simon: I know that building this thing was the main effort, what I was gonna say though is that it is exactly this well caculated and limited usage of foiliage pieces that makes the castle stand out so much, instead of drowning it in a sea of green!

exactly! -
I really love the castle all the way, angles, walls, cobble stones ... all superb - however, what really does it for me is the effective usage of foiliage in this build. Well done Sir!

At least the procrastinating seems to be something we all have in common. 10 term papers to be corrected over the weekend? - the heck, gotta have to get more bricks today ... -

Actually your idea isn't too far from mine, except that I'd say the coast does have a warm current, just like in Europe or Alaska, that's just the physics of climate. For example, in Skagway Alaska you still have a somewhat "mild" climate that actually supports a temperate rainforest. Once you cross the coastal range just a few miles form there (Chilkoot Pass) into the Yukon territory and you have it as continental as in Sweden or Finland. I was really fascinated by the area when I hiked it a few years ago and so actually you could say that Thorshaven could be compareable to Skagway. -

a more titled axis would make the far south pretty cool too! So why don't we just say that Historica is one! continent on a planet with more than one continent. As for Mitgardia, I've always considered it to resemble Scandinavia, so basicly we do have a summer, even if it's a shorter one than in Avalonia and I always considered Mitgardia's West coast under the influence of a warm ocean current, so basicly think Norway -

Which leads us back to the problem of seasons in Historica ... who determines them and who says it's the freezing American and not the non existant German/Dutch/Belgian winter? -

No need to rush the ship done, we (Ska and I) have something else up the sleeve! -
@Bonaparte: only two entries so far and I'm trailing behind too. Do you think there could be a deadline extension for this rather compilcated project?

Really nice vig, especially the fireplace looks extremely tasteful. The pic was a little too big, but I fixed that for you

This looks like a really nice boat! I'm actually having a hard time making good use of those Dragon boat stern/bow piece, but I think you did an excellent job!

Very nice phase I entry! Great snow effects, nice tree all very lovely indeed! I've actually used it in several of my landscape mocs before, but only have three of those leaves so I always end up doing a broken tree ...

Thorshaven, Mitgardia: located in southwestern Mitgardia, close to the Avalonian border, Thorhaven used to be nothing more than a tiny fishing hamlet. However, after the destruction of Stoneroda, Helgestorp and other Western Mitgardian settlements Thorshaven was chosen as Mitgardia's new trade hub. Craftspeople from all over Mitgardia sought refuge here and helped to build this fairly new city. Well, that one only goes for the North American Mitgardians, for the central European ones there actually wasn't any winter at all. So plenty of time to harvest timber!
