We're working on this, just be a little more patient trl is sometimes stranger than fiction! -
(Trashtalk is a necessary evil within the Guilds of Historica project. It keeps things spicy and always leads to even more builds - nice little build) Funny how those stuck up Kaliphlins always confuse the scarves of our females with beards. Seems like all that sun and sand is destroying their retinas!

glad to hear that

Really great ship, love everything about it and can't help to stare at it for hours. I will also add this to my ship index if you allow. However, there is one thing I really don't get, why does everything end up on cuusoo when we all know that the best things are usually turned down anyway?

At least we can still wipe our butts ourselves, unlike our Kaliphlin friends who need a butler for even the most basic tasks. Oh well, I've always felt that Kaliphlin stood at the edge of decadence. Now I know! -
All really nice, snot floor, stained windows etc but one big question remains: Why has Sir Glorfindel turend fleshy all of the sudden?

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

True, but that does not mean that there hadn't been people thinking about more freedom. And Thomas Moore's "Utopia" is based on the reflections of the medieval world. At the same time, the old Norse also had Things (assembleys) in which each citizend had a say, which is what I'm trying to refer to. Although I am aware of the fact, that Vikings too had slaves as well as rulers. But hey, this is the romaticised version of the middle ages and our clan land people also wear horned helmets, despite the fact that this too is pure fiction. And what's even more, I am playing a role as a certain political leader here, which is why I've started put what I mean to say as a real person into brackets. -

Right, that's what the slave masters of the old South used to say too when they sold the children/brothers/sisters/spouses etc. of their slaves "down the river" ... -
Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I'm glad we can agree on that, Mitgardia is actually way more egalitarian than the rest In Avalonia they have dozens of dukes and earls and stuff like that, in Kaliphlin they have slaves and in Nocturnus they have monsters who don't really care about human rights of whatever sort. In the North we may be a little more rough than in the other parts of Historica, but here each citizen (male or female) has its own individual worth! -

In contrast to Avalonia, we have actually never really claimed full territories and instead build villages and towns of places we imagine our characters to originate from. I kinda liked it that way and wonder if we really have to follow the example of Avalonia. However, I do have a pretty clear idea of where I think Thorshaven is located. -
Nice one as always. Actually I think this whole series would have made a nice addition to the MCB ...

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Our guild carthographer actually left fairly early in the game. This means that the map hasn't been updated for eons ... I think the council has to think about how to handle this issue, but if there was someone tackling the job, I'm sure we wouldn't object to it ... -
Now that is the Mitgardian spirit, I doubt any Kaliphlin would survive this game a mere 5 minutes. Way to go Janatale!

Providing Mitgardians with heating oil: Masa's prank
kabel replied to Mike S's topic in Guilds of Historica
I doubt those Kaliphlins had such a hard time to dress up like pirates, their privateers look like that all the time! (I really like the bigger ship, it looks very Kalphlin indeed!) -
Hey direlda, you should Host your pics on flickr or brickshelf and deeplink the Images from there. Currently loading your page takes forever

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

@rogue: sure, slaughterhouse in a town makes sense, a vegetable garden would too I assume. All in all this really supplies me with a lot of ideas of how what else I could be adding to Thorshaven so that it passes as port! As for administration: maybe a townhall in a town + courthouse in a city? -
AoM Archery Phase 2 - Shooting at 500 paces
kabel replied to nivremis's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice idea and good photo editing. But for a phase II maybe not enough. However, a forced perspective landscape build would make a really nice addition to this! -
As Garmadon said, you only need to post your phase III entry here. However, in order to get to phase three you need to have done AoM phases I and II before attempting the third!

I always enjoy how you create really cool scenes with just a limited amount of bricks. So this one is no exception! I do wonder though, would amazing things you would do if you started to put together more bicks than this ...

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

So I'm allowed to enter my town into this challenge although building it started before this challenge? All in all a really great idea, although there is one thing that, from a scientific point of view, doesn't make a lot of sense. What actually differetiates urban settlements (town, city) from rural ones (hamlet, village) it the absence of agricultural production. So I think the requirements of town/city should include some sort of administrative buildings instead. -
thanks guys! @gideon: the orange and brown is my favourite too, that's why I had posted it before. I also love the green color combo though. @yooha: I havn't been to Amsterdam yet, but my inspiration for this is everything Hanseatic (which I've always seen as the basis for Mitgardia). So you can actually find these kind of buildings all across the North and Baltic Seas from Gent to Riga, although my personal inspiration are actually Gdansk in Poland and Stralsund in a part of Germany that once belonged to Sweden.
