  1. LD has to say this because CBB said so too. I'm actually really excited about this pirate project and hope it starts soon.
  2. Bricks are actually my favourtite kind of sail ships, so obviously I really like this. Great shape, great colors, great techniques. And I you hadn't admitted the butchering of those lattice windows, I would never have though that these pieces aren't official as the look just perfect!
  3. hey Etzel, this is really nice! Awesome Ice formations. It'd be cool if you added this to our current Mitgardian Community Build, because I think it fits nicely there.
  4. Hi there, this is definetely a nice build and and interesting story. I really like how created those oriental arches. As for background, just get a big sheat of white paper and pose your stuff against it.
  5. could you please add it to the thread I just made?
  6. Wow, this is one massive project you are working on there. I actually really love the colors and the scope of this whole project. However, I do feel like the transition between the single broadside segments should look a little smoother.
  7. i was thinking that it would be cool to see where you guys are planning to take your mocs this year in order to exhibited. So this thread is intended to get know each other better in person on the one hand and on the other hand, to promote GoH at all the events that happen out there in the world. So you please post which event you are going to go to and which members are going to be there too. I will add this first post with all the new information. It'd be nice for you if you too posted where you are planning to attend and possibly whether you are going to dsiplay something from the GoH world. Event: Brickworld Chicago, USA Date: June 14th - 15th Participants: Gideon rogueang - displaying several GoH mocs mpoh98 - possibly displaying something SkaForHire MKJosha Hyler Talliwell Event: Lego Fan Weekend Skærbæk, Denmark Date: 26-28 September 2014 Paticipants: Gideon - displaying: Nordana Caslte, Swamplands Tower, Mitgardian Trade Rolli Event: Brickmania Antwerpen, Belgium Date: 14th-15th November 2014 Participants: kabel - displaying: port of Thorshaven (and so far still needs a place to sleep) DaMaximus? Tomsche Synbiote?
  8. might as well come down to Antwerpen then ...
  9. That is a very sweet design Etzel, I like her a lot. Great brick sail and quite a few very interesting Mitgardian minifig combos. Excellent!
  10. Oh thanks, now I get it! Sorry Seb for misunderstanding you. Replacing the black with brown tiles sounds like a great idea as I actually need the black tiles on my other ship. I only have two or three brown clips left over though.
  11. Thanks mates, The other clip sounds like a great idea, I'll try that! In how far would you say it's not historically accurate? Maybe the colors on the sides are not and maybe she's a tad to chubby in general, but I was more or less trying to follow what some people think the Pinta might have looked like, at least shape wise. Check this out for reference: BTW, my pirate era ship is also starting to take shape, maybe I should start a second wip thread
  12. The front view is really amazing, that dark red/brown combo seems to work really well. Definetely something I'll have to try too. However, I'm not very fond of the purple building, but I guess that's just the female take on Kaliphlin ...
  13. I don't quite understand what made you so mad, as this is a really cool ship!
  14. I said new wip pics, so here they are: so the poop deck is done except for the gap at the stern and the bow castle needs more planking. Other than that I'd say time to start the rigging
  15. Ha, thanks Ska! Actually, I wasn't really bagging for feedback, but was trying to use thread as an example. But now that you've commented on it, I guess I will have to take new wip pics and show the progress I've made. As for the main mast, it's slightly (one or two studs) off the center, just the way it was depicted in the image I use for reference. But, maybe I should move it more towards the center again. However, this is more or less based on Columbus' Pinta, and there is a ton of different reference pics for it all depicting it differently. Too bad you don't like the CGH building style, personally I think it's the best that's out there to be used on the prefab hulls. Brick hulls are too pixly for my taste. Anyway, this ship is actually designed for my current GoH layout but I've just started a shooner of the 18th century ready to sail my pirate era minifigs back into the pirates world again. New Wip pics tomorrow.
  16. My highest regards, but this is nonsense. The history forum has always been more active than the pirates forum. That's why several of us left here because you can simply get more feedback there. I think my last ship wip here initially got two replies in two weeks, whereas in the GoH forum I tend to have at least 10-15 comments on what I build. I usualy post wip topics so I can get some critical feedback and improve on what I'm building. If I don't get it, I go somewhere else. That said, I really would like there to be more activity here. And I got some 40 or so pirate theme minifigs wating to be dusted off. However, my main focus will remain GoH.
  17. congratulations on being frontpaged, you truely deserve this!
  18. Very glad to have you back Etzel! There are a bunch of mini challanges going on at the moment so lots of oppprtunity to build cool mocs that will helps us big time. Nice character intro!
  19. Guys, there are currently more ships under construction from Kaliphlin as well as Avalonia. So you better step it up or we will get our butts wipped. (And I my foul mouth stuffed)
  20. Wow, so much cool stuff to look at! The water, the ship, houses ... everything is nice, except for those fleshy heads ... And yes, you are a big time Barbarian!
  21. Wow, this is one funky looking castle with all those very creative designs. I love it big time!!! As for the trees, I actually prefer these! Way to go gunman, hope you can enter on the other catergories as well!
  22. I'm sorry to bump this, but I wanted to take a look a you pictures for inspiration, but can't see them anymore. So I was wondering if there was a new place you had them uploaded to.
