Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion
Mutant Orc replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Thanks for all the pics and reviews! I also echo the sentiment that Grievous would be even better with a cape. He's still rather impressive though. -
Hahah, too true, too true. But would they introduce parts 'generic' enough like that and then only use them in one theme?

Not sure if this is the right place or whether this should be in the Wishlist one...sorry if it's in the wrong place. I'm sure you've all noticed so I don't think I'm really saying much here, but the parts they use in silver and orange on Jango and Cody on the upper arms/shoulders are reminiscent of those used on the 'nuva' toa (here) rather. It seems that it'll be unlikely that there will be much use of the shin part judging by comments about how it doesn't work with shorter upper thighs and I doubt they'll make the toa any taller than they are, but there's a good chance they might use that shoulder pad in the gen 2 'nuva' toa isn't there? That would be a nice nod to the past.

Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion
Mutant Orc replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Hah! Jango has a flick missile, didn't expect that! I wonder why they chose to use that part on the upper leg in brown when light grey ones appear in the set? they use them as holsters that were indeed brown but I would've expected them to save cost by having all of that part in the same colour regardless. It's a nice attention to detail and effort though so I'm not complaining. I don't like that gap in the middle of his back between the jetpack and the torso frame though... I wonder what he'll look like in normal blue (I'm not sure Takanuinuva if that's want you meant by mata blue or not) as although what Lego has done is accurate, having the same blue as the helmet would make him more visually striking I think and might make him work better by having a consistent shade throughout as has been done on previous toys collectibles ( ) -
Has your pet(s) ever caused damage to your collection?
Mutant Orc replied to legosamsonite's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've never had a problem with a cat, other than them getting in the way (as they do when you're trying to read) by sitting on parts or in front of the parts when I want them, and shedding some fluff. With dogs, when we had dogs, I never let them into my room because of how bouncy and large they were. They did once get in when my door wasn't shut properly and they did chew a small set (luckily didn't swallow anything) damaging the parts, and knocked some things over. It might be easier just to keep the dog out completely but if you/the dog want company then you could try giving it a bed under the desk and its own chew things. I personally wouldn't ever leave it unsupervised though... -

Nice! I really like that entrance, how you've inset the shields and also got the gradually shrinking arches...the effect looks great! It'll be interesting to see how this progresses over time.

I couldn't find it directly but I did eventually get it by changing the url http://www.lego.com/en-us/bionicle/story/episode-11

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Mutant Orc replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The general idea is an arcade at the moment. For a short while we thought Deli but that's just another of those Creator town building sets like the Cafe and Bike shopones. I have other themes I like so I can wait a good long while 'till the next modular too, -
Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Mutant Orc replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
I also hope that we get a Cap with a normal face, a removable helmet would be nice to achieve this but could look a bit oversized... I aslo want him easily available with a serious expression. He barely wears the mask and I can't think of a time when he smiles like they printed on his face... On the contrary a slightly smiling Thor would be nice to see along with a slightly less angry neutral face. Also a leg print. Also arm print of either his chain-mail or bare arms with gauntlets. Also his hair is meant to be the same colour as his beard so that needs recolouring. We'll have to wait a while till we see another Thor though... (and yes you guessed it, I like Thor heh) Another thing I hope they change is Scarlet Witch's magic stuff. They should've recolored the part to trans neon orange/trans red. Hopefully they won't give her blue magic again when it's clearly red I hope the Civil War sets don't disappoint and that full effort is put in...they'd be great and I'd probably buy a load if they do -
The ferry could be one of those small ones that just transport a car or two accross a lake or river... http://shipsandharbo...ws.com/1369.jpg http://www.sunderlan...r-van-thing.jpg Edit- just realise that's already been said! Oops

I didn't post this earlier when looking at the 2016 list of sets on Brickset, and it's too late now to find those set names as Brickset have removed the list, but the unusual sounding fantasy/castle line had sets listed with a 10 euro price attached (if I remember correctly) using what seemed to be a character names and then the adjective I think was ultimate or ultra. This thought hadn't occurred to me but it did to my friend- Weren't the Chima CCBS sets called ultrabuilds? Is it possible these might be some more non-bionicle constraction sets that'll arise from this theme..? It's possible but most probably highly unlikely...I just thought I'd mention it here. [sorry if its the wrong thread I've got a bit muddled recently with them].

I've now got the Mystery Machine, the Mansion and the Plane. The first two are great but the plane is underwhelming and a bit ugly looking to me personally. I managed to make some simple changes to the mystery machine so as it sits 3 figs in the cab. Basically the way I did this was add an extra studs depth to it so as it's 6 by 3 rather than 6 by 2, so a figure can be sat one stud further back between the original seating areas on either side. I also made some other small changes but that's unimportant. I don't get why Daphne has flesh leg printing though...she always wore pink tights right? Among other things that'd be nice to have, of which there are loads, I would quite like having a grinning scooby face and also a super scared shaggy with a new hair piece for when his hair stands on end. https://dreager1.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/754383-shaggy_super.jpg

I'm continuing from the discussion from the 2015 thread to discuss the rumours around that latest set release. People are saying Ekimu could be the Mask Hunter, but wasn't it said that Makuta was the Mask Hoarder? and to hoard masks first you need to hunt them down and get them...

Wow there's some great NPU going on here...I was going to mention my favourite but I can't decide. The only quibble I have is maybe that Gali's mask is a bit too narrow for a bulky body like this, and that maybe one of the wider masks could work better..? I'm not perfectly sure. Nice moc!

Stunning build as always! I really love how it looks and the colours used.
-
Shame it's not accurate to the actual grey and sandblue/dark grey two seater craft from the episode though... http://www.dailymoti...f-halloween_fun There's the full episode. If you jump ahead to the 20 minute mark it's around there. But I see why they wanted to keep the lively colour scheme. My main bother with these sets is the price in GBP.

I agree with Flobnomdob. The fanciest armour used to feature faces or animals on it anyways didn't it? Smaller probably, but all the same...
-
That makes utter sense yes, especially when you consider how their civilization collapsed rather what with them loosing the ability to forge great masks of power and having to abandon the city with no sign of them rebuilding anything like it. No doubt they'd have left behind a lot of aspects of how it once was forgotten in the city.
