Review: 44029 Queen Beast vs. Furno, Evo & Stormer
Mutant Orc replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I think the colours work quite well on her as along with her limbs they help make her look related to Tunneler Beast (the legs), Flyer Beast (the wings), Splitter Beast (the orange on the chest and the blue) and Crystal Beast (the murky-trans wings) even if only slightly. The only one that's harder to find a very slight similarity to is Jaw Beast. Spose... just the jaw but thats common to them all anyways ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
Review: 44029 Queen Beast vs. Furno, Evo & Stormer
Mutant Orc replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I was initially skeptical of this set, but I bought it and think its worthwhile. It's one of those cases where the box art make her seem so much worse than she really is in hand. I don't mean to advertise but I'll now advertise ( ) the fact I did a review (the only internal one I think...) on Brickset of her, no images but its there if you want a load of text to read about it. Some of the stuff there is mundane but its a review I wrote at the time so it'll be more accurate to how I felt about the set than anything I could tell you now (its long since been disassembled). -
Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion

Here's something youtube suggested for me. Thought I'd share as I couldn't recall ever seeing it posted here. -
Wow that's super impressive. I love it...the use of parts is exceptional as is the shaping and the use of the orange and white.

Hahah, entertaining and informative, a great read- thanks for the review! On a side note I thought Fant-Four-Stic was....ok. On the poorer side of ok. The exposition felt like it was from a 3 hour film because it was so long and towards the middle it started to drag. The ending was terrible.

I liked the Squid guns and especially the ammo too! maybe that's cause they were about the same time I was getting into buying Bionicle sets properly so I might have a pair of nostalgia goggles on hahah

this could've been something interesting to see on a character like HF's Splitface -
Thanks! Nice design, looking forward to the rest. Now I wish I had some of those parts for when I get him eventually, hah!

I'd be interested in seeing that please TheOneVeyronian. Grievous seems good I'm glad the price didn't end out at £35, but he certainly is a bit too gappy up top.

Booster to me makes it sound like it would contain something to make a Toa more powerful (a boost). So maybe it was going to be like one of those Hero Factory polys, with a weapon and then a couple of the armour add-on. Edit- found example of what I mean http://brickset.com/sets/4648933-1/%7BHero-Factory-Accessory-Pack%7D http://brickset.com/sets/5000194-1/%7B-%7D and look, one is even called 'Booster Pack'! http://brickset.com/sets/4659607-1/%7BBooster-Pack%7D

I do believe that a Hologram Palpatine appeared in some Imperial Star Destroyer sometime recently actually. Thanks for all the reviews. I also like the sets but feel there's something a little bit lacking for the prices.

Oh of course sorry. I retyped and reread my own post and other posts too much and muddled myself. Oops.

I'm trying to think of disaster-esque things. Ice could have avalanche? Jungle is a tricky one. Unless they decide to use hurricane/cyclone/typhoon seeing as Lewa still retains some of his air related powers...he does fly/glide afterall Just seen GK733's post and blizzard could work also for Ice. Stone is also awkward. The only thing related to desert/stone I can think of are drought and landslides...neither of which make cool sounding set names. Edit- Sandstorm could work for stone... and Storm works well for jungle too actually seeing as tropical rainforests are known by their storms of rain (hence the name). But would they want to have 2 sets with the word storm in them as it makes them rather similar

I have another Slicer. I was going to use some of my VIP rewards to get it cheaper but the store I went to had a problem but I'd queued n all so I got it full RRP anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I wouldn't mind picking up a double of maybe some of the others either (for the parts such as for mocing/moding the toa in skeleton zombie versions which is amusing) but then there are other sets coming out later this year such as the Star Wars ones that we don't yet know the price of in sterling so how expensive they are will determine if I do get more doubles or not.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
Mutant Orc replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't follow this topic, so sorry if this has already been said, but I was in the Lego Store in Liverpool today and they had the figures for sale. So...they're out in the UK. -
Wow, that's some odd. I knew some countries got them slower than others, but by now I expected everyone to have them. How come they don't release things in the same region at the same time? The release hasn't exactly been very thorough over here (the UK) though either. I've only seen S@H and Lego stores with the sets, none in Argos (although they were slow with the first wave of sets) and none in Smyths (which is normally quite efficient). Edit- Ah... I just realised this is a 2015 thing in the 2016 thread. Sorry about that.

A while back I decided I wanted some more of the parts in colours that were exclusive/new to some of the Bionicle sets, and when I did I comparison between getting the parts I wanted from the bricks and pieces service or getting doubles of the sets, doubles of the sets turned out a huge amount better value.

Would this be the place for me to mention my surprise at the Hulk..? He's so small! I expected that set to be quite big, because I was thinking along the lines that the Hulk was going to be about the same size as the big figs from the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings license (the only bigfigs I have). He's a lot smaller, and so is the Hulkbuster, than expected. The Hulkbuster as a model is too big, but I've come to realize that's not helped by the fact that the Hulk seems too small as well. Was he always this size or have previous versions of him been bigger? I've gotten more use to the size now, but when I first opened it I was quite surprised. I think he could've done with being a bit taller? Not a huge amount, but at least a little bit bigger. What do you all think about it?
-
I didn't know this! Just gone and removed them all from the figs I had on them, thanks for that info! I personally am not fond on the superjumpers, not only because they damage the figures, but I don't really think it's that much fun to have to mess about so much just to knock these tiny things off. I think there could are more amusing features that can be incorporated into sets that are less damaging and easier to do. I'm not even very fond on the stud shooters being used so much, they're fiddly and the ammo is annoying. I much prefer the spring loaded shooter and on places like on top of the Hydra fort tower, they'd be a lot better as the added size wouldn't be so much of a bother.

What are the most underrated Hero Factory sets?
Mutant Orc replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I really like Breakout Evo with his beefy arm because he was the first CCBS set I got, along with Splitface (although now I regret not getting the Black Phantom that was also on the shelf ) Not sure how the Invasion from Below sets were received, but I personally loved the creatures in that. It was the theme that actually got me into CCBS properly. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Mutant Orc replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I wouldn't mind seeing those parts surface in a modular at all, seeing as I don't have any. I yesterday received the Pet Shop through the post and built it. It's a good set and I wouldn't mind seeing another set sometime that incorporates a similar detachable dual building format. My only issue with the set is similar to one I found with the Detectives office- how the exterior stairs aren't sealed off from the interior of the shop/building, leaving a big gap open to the elements (and burglary). There's also the problem of anyone walking up the stairs slipping and falling into the shop... I'd rather the stairs were sealed off. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Mutant Orc replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
If they do re-release or even create a new set that features the arched window piece, it'd be nice if they make a glass piece for it. They use it quite often with it featuring in Cafe Corner, Green Grocer, Pet shop, Palace Cinema, Parisian Restaurant and the Detectives office, although I'll hasten to add some of those did use the mesh piece inside it so that's ok. But for those that didn't and had them left open, especially above a stack of glassed frames, the effect is odd. It can be ignored, but it'd be nicer not having to. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Mutant Orc replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
One thing for sure they'd have to add into a re-release of an old set to conform to the new crucial addition to the criteria of making a successful modular.... ...play features/story! flick missiles? exploding stairs? swinging axes? hidden trapdoors? bring them on! In all seriousness I would have no objection to a resurfacing of older modulars, seeing as I only knew of them when the Parisian Restaurant was released and so completely missed the older ones. If they were to remake them is it possible/probably that they might downscale them in some manner to furnish interiors? (the older ones didn't really have those did they?)
