Classic Space City... I could get behind that idea! :)
-
I like this! Only thing that bugs me a bit are the red lights on the starboard side, and the green on the port side, but don't mind this navy guy...

It will be for me, certainly. Otherwise, it might as well be Galaxy Patrol or something...
-
Never say never. :)

Yes, this is the only way to avoid looking like the 40-year Old Virgin, lol. :) I might also suggest, if you're more of a collector type than someone who just wants a massive amount of bricks, periodically "refocus" your collection by figuring out what you really love, what you want to keep and what you could do without. Sell or trade off the latter to get sets you do want.

I would love to get this, but I assume aftermarket prices will be crazy...

Yeah, do we know approximately when that Cuusoo set comes out? I swear, though, if the include a Galaxy Squad figure or something instead of a CS fig... :(
-
I like this a lot. You've captured a sense of "real" Lego design/aesthetic, too, which I appreciate. When everyone else seems to be doing their utmost to give their builds as much SNOT as possible, this stands out like a breath of fresh air! It really looks like it'd be at home among the Classic Space and Futuron designs. Well done!

Congrats on getting front paged! Well deserved. :)

Well, as I said, from my own limited recent experience, I'd say yes. It will be interesting to see how well Benny's spaceship sells, and maybe, to a lesser extent, the Cuusoo mech, assuming they include a spaceman fig as the creator did. Maybe that will convince Lego to make more CS style sets, and possibly a full line. :)
-
That would all be cool... but honestly, after this weekend, I definitely think Lego should consider Classic Space II. I sell at a local convention here. I had a bunch of CS dudes in less than perfect condition that I thought I'd try and sell. Nothing crazy, basically between $1-6, depending on condition. Last year, ZERO sold. This weekend? Everything gone the first day, and most of them were bought by kids. These were all whites and reds, btw. I had ONE blue one in pretty good condition. Priced him at $15, heh. Gone in the first hour. Obviously Benny has taken hold.

LOVE this idea. It could centre around CS too... Like what would happen when moon bases expand into cities and colonists start populating them. CS logo everywhere! :) I would like to see new colours mixed in too, especially green, orange and dark blue!
-
I don't understand, really. I'd rather have a vintage blue than Benny any day... I mean, I want Benny too, but he'll be available in more than one set, right?
-
I'm all for it. Only Lego I really collect, actually... If there has to be conflict, so be it. Combine it with Blacktron and Space Police (many of us do anyway, I'm sure), or as I stated in another thread, our intrepid Classic Space explorers could discover a long abandoned nest of Alien Conquest guys in stasis or something. :)
-
Well, I'll say this - Alien Conquest NEARLY brought me out of my second dark age. I guess that's not the greatest endorsement, but it looked a lot more appealing than most sci-fi series Lego puts out. What I really want to see is Classic Space come back, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Alien Conquest theme again either... maybe they could even mash the two together. :)

Wow, AMAZING use for that red bush. Very imaginative! Maybe the only thing I'd do is adjust the angles a bit so there's a straight trajectory. (Sorry, been watching a lot of Dexter lately!)

Any idea what that poster goes for these days? :)

Okay, here goes... I've been wondering if I should even post this, because apparently I'll be skirting the "don't trade Lego for non-Lego" rule a little bit by asking this. Thing is, I'm a big collector of toys in general, especially new and vintage GI Joes (including convention items), but also Masters of the Universe Classics, Transformers, vintage Kenner Star Wars and Super Powers, etc. And LEGO, of course, but that's been more recent. I used to have a lot of Lego Star Wars, but got a little burned out (collecting Star Wars always seems to do that to me, as there ends up being just TOO MUCH, lol), and sold most of it. I guess I should be clear here - I'm not looking to sell anything, just buy, or HOPEFULLY trade some of my extra other stuff... But like I said, I know that's skirting the rules, here, so I won't list anything. By all means, let me know if you're interested at all, but what I'm really looking for is some advice on where I might be able to find some people who might be interested in this sort of trade. I don't really have time to join my local LUG (I have a two-year-old and baby at home right now!), but I know that might be an option in the future. So yeah, just looking for some ideas here. Now that that's out of the way, I will state that I AM interested in buying, too, so hopefully this thread won't get deleted or get me banned or something. :) Here's what I'm currently looking for: 497/928 Galaxy Explorer 493/926 Command Centre 6990 Monorail 375/6075 Castle 6285 Black Seas Barracuda (I know these last two aren't Classic Space, but I kind of want them too) 894 Mobile Ground Tracking System 1968 Unnamed 6806 Surface Hopper 6861 X-1 Patrol Craft 6872 Xenon X-Craft 6930 Space Supply Station 6952 Solar Power Transporter (can be incomplete - I have one already, but it's missing several pieces) 6953 Cosmic Laser Launcher 6972 Polaris-1 Space Lab 6985 Cosmic Fleet Voyager I'd be interested in more than this, probably... these are just the ones that stand out to me right now. So yeah, mods, if I'm completely out of line by mentioning the non-Lego stuff I do have to trade, let me know. But I'd still like to work out some kind of deal for the above, as well as other Futuron, Space Police 1, possibly Blacktron 1 and white Spacemen minifigs. :)

This is cool, but looks a bit too much like an actual astronaut... I would LOVE to see it in a Classic Space scheme, maybe piloted even? You've already got the logo, I see. :)
-
Interesting! I had no idea the sets I had as a kid were from Samsonite. I remember minifigs packs, though it's a bit hazy... I think I had bought a four-pack of Classic Town firemen at one point. I believe they were carded and assembled like the ones above...
-
Yeah, what are you gonna do? It's Classic Space! Looks great.

Cool ship! Love the colours, too!

Yeah, kinda. Fill it up with old Space Police minifigs and it'd be perfect!
