D'oh! Yeah, my bad. And I guess it's been a while since I've been into tanks and such. Some Shermans had a longer 76mm gun that looked a bit more like this. Anyway, I hope my criticism didn't come off as unduly harsh - I rather like this MOC! :)

What a great idea, and well executed too!
-
Very sleek design - like it a lot!

I like the "old" looking building with the more sci-fi elements added to it. That's how it would probably be, after all, in the future. :) I love that the marines are just going about their nasty business right in the front yard, ha!

Very cool design! The good doctor needs a helmet and/or ear protection though, I think. ;)

This reminds me of the first time I saw Lego and Star Wars together - the combination of two classic, retro-cool cultural icons mashed together. Brilliant! :)

[Sci-Friend] Olivia's new ship for the summer
DPrime replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I LOVE this ship. The colour scheme is so refreshing, too. To be honest I don't see the Star Wars aesthetic anywhere, though I'm sure one can make comparisons here and there. I think this is very unique. -
Hmm, I was looking for Silence of the Lambs, actually... which one is that?
-
Oh, I'm sure I would have fun with it too. :)

Awesome! The hull in particular is spot on. The turret, I think, could be improved. I'm sorry that I don't have any real "constructive" advice on how to do it, but it just doesn't quite have the familiar M4 lines, imo... Also the gun itself should be a bit smoother, even for the Firefly variant (which I'm assuming you're going for, given the length of the gun and the "flare" at the muzzle). Maybe stick an MG on top, too. Sorry - I hope I'm not coming off as harsh. I used to be into WWII military vehicles big time, built a few models, etc. Like I said - the hull in particular is FANTASTIC. The turret is almost there, though. :)

I think maybe Chucky from Child's Play in the attic, too? I'm really interested in seeing more pics and maybe some sort of number system to identify each scene. ;)

Wow, love this thing! Especially the "spines" and cockpit/canopy design.

Something about this suggests "cyborg" to me more so than exo-suit, and I'm not sure why... Still looks very cool, though. :)

Quite a nice, appropriately Steampunk-esque design! Very unique. The lantern is a nice touch, too! :)

Cute set! I never had Fabuland stuff as a kid but I do remember it in catalogs and stores, and being drawn to it even though I was all about Classic Space and other "cool" stuff. ;) Great review - btw, that is the wheel, as you said, not the rudder - the wheel moves the rudder, if you get my meaning. Speaking of nautical stuff, in the RCN we sometimes (rather derogatorily, but in a good-natured way... usually) refer to those in the boatswain trade as "deck apes". Thought that was an interesting tidbit given the figures. :) I would love to get this for my daughter when she gets a bit older, even if it is vintage - she loves boats and monkeys in particular! Thanks for the review. :)

Yeah, I LOVED that set-up. Might have to copy it. Glad I took a look at this thread. To be quite honest Galaxy Squad and the bug stuff doesn't really do it for me, though you've got some nice MOCs there...

Definitely evoked Classic Space for me when I saw that first picture, even before seeing the blue spaceman on there! :) I think there might be a touch too much black, if I want to get really picky about it. But only a touch. ;)

Amazing techniques, especially the landscaping and water!

Without Cameron, I'm not sure how good it will be... if they can get a real talented, visionary director I'm all for it. In the meantime, I'm quite happy to consider Terminator and T2 the only "real" Terminator movies. :)

Very cool - not at all what I was expecting when I clicked on this thread! Impressive...

Beautiful MOC - I do agree that a touch of yellow might look nice, but I see what you're going for as well. Great job!
-
Nice design - I do agree that there's no real reason we need to stick to traditional looking cannons for sci-fi weapons!

Wow, pleasantly surprised! Looks like we might have a real hit on our hands here. Had no idea these were the guys who did Clone High - I LOVED that series back in the day! It'll be too bad if they can't at least throw a Luke Skywalker (and/or Darth Vader) cameo in there, or one of the Marvel characters. They're such big parts of the Lego universe now... and a heavy dose of DC (i.e. Batman) nearly takes me out of the movie, because of it being produced by Warner Brothers and all (I get a similar vibe from Big Bang Theory, sometimes). But I doubt that will in any way ruin the movie for me. :) Yegads, I hope so!

Looking for sets similar to Space Police HQ (set 5985).
DPrime replied to jFox's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
That was my immediate thought as well. You could make a pretty awesome MOC that way... -
Can't believe there isn't more discussion about this show after last Sunday. :)
