I need a "new" white to pilot the mech. The whites were almost always the ones driving the land vehicles...
-
Oh, were they? I stand corrected... Just going by my childhood collection of bricks (1980-1988 or so), which had zero 2x4 bricks with cross supports. :)

LEGO is destroying creative play according to this article.
DPrime replied to legoman19892's topic in General LEGO Discussion
EXACTLY. I get the impression that she watched The Lego Movie (or at least read a summary of its plot on Wikipedia or whatever) and wrote this article. I mean, her insight isn't really all that impressive considering that was basically the plot of the movie. :) I do think, however, that the company should start putting pictures of alternate builds back on the boxes. That was a really cool way to encourage creativity. -
Yeah, I guess we should be talking about it here, eh? Not sure what I'm going to buy to get this. Maybe another SSS?

How important is it for you to write "LEGO" vs Lego?
DPrime replied to DPrime's topic in General LEGO Discussion
lol, is that how they are "supposed" to be spelled too? -
^ I was thinking the same thing. I wouldn't want to see it as tall as the AT-AT myself, but some articulated legs would look amazing on that. Maybe more like the AT-TE?

Why Was Benny's Helmet Broke In The LEGO Movie?
DPrime replied to CrazyDalton777's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I had a feeling! Enjoy the vintage figs. IMO those are the best. :) Yeah, I remember that... Once that neck got loose, it was nigh impossible to get that helmet off. -
So if you were to put them in, they'd be a bit loose, or too tight? Haven't gotten mine yet, but it's listed as shipped! :)

FYI, use the "wet method". Someone here mentioned it to me recently - it works great! Just fill a small bowl with water and a drop of dish soap, dip the part in, then dip the sticker in using a pair or tweezers. You'll be able to move it around on the piece for a couple minutes, so you can get it on perfectly. It dries perfectly too, with no fingerprints and very little, if any, air bubbles.

Just something I've always wondered when it comes to AFOLs. Seems to be a sticking point for many, though for me, other than in a very formal, professional context, writing it in all caps all the time seems a bit forced. I also don't really have a problem with "Legos", though I try avoiding it myself. :)

Some good, interesting points here. I think that, whether or not a CS reboot happens - Lego really should reexamine the idea of including pictures of alternate builds for whatever sets they do, even licensed ones like Star Wars. It really would encourage more creative play, I think.

Why Was Benny's Helmet Broke In The LEGO Movie?
DPrime replied to CrazyDalton777's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
May I ask how old you are? Just wondering, because if you didn't actually grow up with Classic Space, I could see why this might not be obvious. The helmets were quite prone to breaking, and on a similar note, those golden moons didn't stay golden for long. I guess I may have played with my old Space sets quite a lot back in the day, but I wouldn't describe it as excessive or anything - just normal play! I had more than one broken helmet in my collection even at a very early age... -
I see cross supports!

Early LEGO in Norway, Sweden, Finland
DPrime replied to LEGO Historian's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hmm, I had a bunch of those windows... Wonder where they came from? I was born in '77... -
I don't mind miggle, lol. "Collection", as some are suggesting, is way too generic. What's the point, if the word applies to every single other toy brand - not to mention art, cars, antiques, books, etc. - out there?

Thanks. I figured that was the case but just wanted to make sure. -
September LEGO Store Calendar - Classic Space VIP set!
DPrime replied to just2good's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Do US offers like this occur concurrently in Canada? i.e. is this a North American thing? -
Still in progress for me (Canada)... Ordered at maybe 12:45 AM August 1st.

September LEGO Store Calendar - Classic Space VIP set!

Hmm, well I haven't bought a second SSS yet... -
Wow, that was quick! Out of stock in Canada, now, too. If this doesn't send a message to Lego about a possible CS reboot, I don't know what does! :)

Yeah, seems like it was just glitchy for a while. Eventually I ordered two plus the Research set, and got free shipping and the freebie set no prob. :)

What's number one on your list to get 1st August?
DPrime replied to talos's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ah, got mine in. The site was pretty slow there for a while, but looks like I'm good to go. :) Picked up the Research set too. I will be saving that for my daughters for when they get a bit older (it's mainly Duplo for them at the moment!). -
I checked the Canadian site just after midnight - still "available soon". Did a bit of work (it's 12:43 now), and I check again - OUT OF STOCK! Can't be... right? :(

IMO, that's why it works best. Because it already means a collection of something, rather than simply making up a definition. It's not like it can't have more than one meaning, after all. :)

I like clutch. Best answer so far, imo. :)
