  1. Thanks guys! It was definitely too easy, I have to make it harder Well here is the original image: The remade gas pumps and car And the gas station itself: I didn't change the design of the gas station very much, I just made it modular and changed the design of the gas pumps and cars. When remaking this (and other sets) I had some ideas in mind: The buildings should be adapted to fit with the other modular buildings They should be more detailed I like 6 wide cars, so I make everything 6 wide (again more realism) and a VERY important point was, that the additionally used parts wouldn't be too expensive to acquire, to make it easier to change a normal building into a modular one, or if you had two kinds of this set you wouldn't need much more parts I already have a modular design of the town hall and movie theatre from the town plan, but thy need to be rendered first. Also on my list of buildings to convert to modular ones are the Model Town House, Medieval Market, Diagon Alley (especially the Gringotts Bank building), the Arkham Asylum and more... Comments are always welcome ~ Nick
  2. Wow, so much creativity for parts usage round here! Really inspiring creations, especially the small decorations, like bushes, benches .... Brick on "Kevin8" ...
  3. Hi there! I normally post in the train tech section, so I'm not really known here. So just recently I made modifications to some Lego sets, and thought it would be interesting to let you guess the set I remade. I will post larger images if you guess correctly or don't know the set, and if you guys are interested I'll keep the thread running with newly remade sets. There is one rule I stuck to in order to make it easier for you and to keep the spirit of the real Lego set: I tried to keep the style of the buildings/cars, but changed the design a little bit to more modern standards, added some details, made it more realistic...etc So here is a small section of the picture to start with: Happy guessing ~Nick
  4. Really nice buildings, I really like the details of the train station, it looks really good! Also thanks for the lxf!
  5. Really cool, I never thought of modularizing the simpsons house Great work!
  6. Hmm, I have some sets, but none of them are actually built. I own: 10194 Emerald Night (2x) 4559 Cargo Railway 4552 Cargo Crane 7936 Level Crossing I have one custom engine that waits for money, parts and time. It sits on its shelf already for some years and is improved every now and then. And there is a soon to come custom 2-6-2T engine waiting for parts to arrive.
  7. I don't know if this will help. Although it isn't quite the same I did a similar thing just recently: https://www.flickr.c...07/15274398016/
  8. I really like that much detail in such a small space, as well as that you can operate it!
  9. Nice, I really like how this engine looks finished. Will you apply stickers? You should definitely upload pictures of the MK I coaches
  10. I don't know how all that is called, but it works well together and looks good
  11. I have designed a well wagon and a tank wagon a while ago, let me know if you want the lxf.
  12. Hmm, I don't know if this helps, but I tried a different boiler version: The front is only slightly larger, but it looks much rounder, which I think is better. Though I don't know if the boiler is too small for you.
  13. Have a look at the lxf I added. It's an approach to make the smaller boiler slightly larger. Engine.lxf
  14. Thanks, I tried to make my model as true to the prototype as possible, that's why the gap is that big Haha, which station are you talking about (or what are you planning to build) ? I am happy to help if you need the ldd. Also I think it is better to get the cars lower, because increasing height is always easier.
  15. Thanks everyone! I attach the 1x8 or 1x6 tiles to plates with clips You can do it in real life, but in LDD you need a little trick, which I have shown here:
  16. Welcome! Will you also do some train mocs ???
  17. Hi! I haven't been very active here for a while, but I was busy "working" on some LDD models and revising them. Some of you might have seen them already on my flickr photostream. I also got to render my models for the first time Ok, I'll show you the pics My revised BR Standard Class 9F "Evening Star" I borrowed codefox421's coaches to try on the 9F (all credit for the coaches goes to him, here is the link to his topic: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=97927 ) I also revised my GWR 14xx, but that'll be part of another topic soon Then I also rendered and (re) designed some rolling stock: From top left to bottom right: Cattle Wagon Tank Wagon Well Wagon Vent Van GWR 16 Ton Toad Brake Van BR 20 Ton Brake Van (brown livery) BR 20 Ton Brake Van (grey and yellow livery) I also designed a water tower: and a modular train station. This is one section: You can make it bigger: and build a pretty decent station: The station has too many parts to be rendered And another station building: I hope you enjoyed it Comments and criticisms are welcome! Greetings, Nick P.S.: You can see higher resolution pics on my flickr: http://www.flickr.co...s/94645638@N07/
  18. Lovely design, especially the handcuffs and the other rods. This is simple but effective!
  19. I really like your idea to make the parts you print more like standard pieces so you could use them in other models aswell! Like your wheel holders, which look more realistic to me than Lego's ( especially the "suspension" which looks more modern on the Lego version)
  20. Really eager to see some work/progress/results! I have followed your thread about the BR 08 shunter and it really looks interesting. Seems you have much ahead of you seeing that Moor Street is a big station. I'm looking forward to see more!
  21. A really nice moc! Especially all the nice features and details make this truck stand out!
  22. Really looks good, all the small details and the train as a whole! Brick on Gabor
  23. Haha, that'd be a great one!
  24. But the very important aspect would be that it comes with, say four tracks or so, that the kids can play with it and grow a desire
