  1. So that new creator trin is different from the new city train?
  2. I haven't read through the whole thread, but has anybody realized that some of the cars utilize a new 2x6 plate with rounded corners? I haven't read it anywhere, so I was just wondering.
  3. That looks really good!!! 7 wide definitely looks good to it You might consider to make the cab a little higher, as it sits very low. Brick on Sunder... I hope we'll see some other train designs from you in the future
  4. Wow that's a stunning great build! I liked the ship itself when I was younger (and still do) and you got everything right! Brick on stebai...
  5. Hahaha, I like that windshield, and as you said it is just logical; I for myself thought about cutting two of these, cause as I can see here the result is perfect. Also like the overall ideas of updating old sets Keep'em coming
  6. Looks great! I like the fence on the curved sections.... really improves the look!
  7. After searching more intensively I've found a better pic: http://lugnet.at/fot...ed_2014_030.jpg I saw the train in real life and the train had many stickers indeed! Anyway I'll try to get in contact with the builder.
  8. So I have been following this thread but haven't read all of it so I don't know if this question/suggestion has been asked/made: Why not combine PF and the old 9V system together? My suggestion would be to make metal rails as the power supply. TLC would release a power pick-ups as a new PF element (either metal wheels that pick up electricity or something else, they can be creative there ) which kinda replaces the battery box. As a result you'd have the advantages of PF and 9V combined: you don't have to use the standard pf bogies, but can use the power pick-ups with any pf motor which makes it easier to power any kind of engine: from small shunters to steam engines. Of course you could still use the conventional PF motor bogie, but not necessarily. You could also still interconnect the IR receiver and therefore run multiple trains on one 9V setup without the need of isolated track sections. That was just my thought, but what do you think? Is that too much variety for one train system?
  9. Hi! First of all: Merry Christmas!!! Secondly: The train really looks good (I haven't take them, but I've seen them in real life). I have seen a 7-wide model on the Viennese Model Fair in real life this year, but I can't remember seeing images of the model somewhere on the web. I might be able to somehow get in contact with the builder, if you're interested.
  10. Thanks, I'll do that I use pov ray and the ldd to pov ray converter for the renders. Actually they're just placeholders for BBB medium driving wheels, as they have the same size and diameter. Thy wouldn't actually work (as far as I know)
  11. I like how you modded some stuff, but especially like your mocs. I know you've said they're not finished or look bad, but could you pleaaasee show some of your carriages (MK I coaches and Pullman if I'm right?) and also the tank wagon? They really look good and would deserve some pictures And nice for you to get more space, hope yo use t for some more mocs
  12. I assume the engine is a typical American design? When you change from 6 to 8 wide you should also consider making it taller, as the proportions are somewhat wrong. All the details are fantastic though. Is it powered?
  13. Really nice idea! Now you could do shunting at Lego shows instead of the normal trains running on a loop all the time; I'd definitely be interested to see this engine shunting some wagons
  14. Thanks! The dark red brick brick will be in some 2015 sets, so it will be possible I've already heard about the virtual rods, but I normally work with LDD. I tried LDraw once (also with BBB wheels ) but the plates didn't always have the right distance, or interfered (especially when I was using snot, so that's my problem ) And yes, absolutely! Virtual building shows you more ways of doing something (although some techniques are not allowed in LDD ) Thanks! As said, I'll add more buildings in the future
  15. Thanks everyone! That's the thing I like most about digital designing: not only that I'm not limited with available parts, but I have all the parts and find out new ways to use different bricks. Haha, too many! Actually I just counted and realized I designed about 13 engines (all steam btw), a handful of cars and some modulars. But most files in my LDD folder consist of parts and many ways to use them, e.g. window techniques, tower building techniques... basically designs of different things with parts many haven't thought about before. In fact I like to find new ways to use parts just to make my buildings, designs etc. unique As most of the design (everything but the boiler and running plate) has been published here before I won't hesitate to publish mine as well; I've attached it. LNER_A3_ by_ScotNick_ based_on_Bricktrix'_A4.lxf
  16. Well, most of the used parts exist or are easily substitutable. The real problem is not whether they exist or not, but how much they cost! And all the connection rods should work, I left enough room for all that. Furthermore I'll use Zephyrs custom connecting rods
  17. Well, there is still Carls very old version of the flying Scotsman out there, and recently I also designed my own version: Credit for the tender, cab and wheel arrangement goes to Carl Greatrix, whose A4 I revised into an A3 by adding my own boiler version and the running plate. As many say, the tenders look a little bit too tall IMO. Somehow it seems to me that some proportions just aren't right, but I'm not sure about that.
  18. Hey all! I know I haven't been very active in the forums (I think I've never been; I'm not that kind of person ), but I've always been busy building and redesigning some of my models. As I'll take a short break from Lego for half a year, because I'm really busy with school, I'll show you my latest works (or at least those I haven't shown on Eurobricks yet . Here they come: First of all a GER D56 (with dark blue livery) and the same engine with a later colour scheme and tender, classified as LNER / BR D16 And then a Bagnall 0-4-0ST, of which only two were produced A Hudswell Clarke Standard 0-6-0T An LBSCR E2 (some of you might remember this engine in a different livery ) My redesigned GWR 57xx I know this might not fit exactly here, but there are engines in the pic And then, one of my best designs: An LNER A3 known best for the world-famous engine Flying Scotsman 4472 Actually I have to admit, that the tender, chassis and cab are Carl Greatrix' design (because they fit the prototype so perfectly ) I found a new way to create a bigger (between 4W and 6W) boiler and wanted to try it out with this engien. Although it isn't perfectly round, I think it fits well enough! So only give me credit for the boiler and running plate, because the rest isn't really my work And finally, after so many British models, I present you my first design of an engine from my own country: a KKSTB 310 The 310 was built between 1911 and 1916 for the KKSTB (Imperial Royal Austrian State Railways) and reached a top speed of 100km/h or 60 mph. I also used my new boiler method for this model again Pacifics (4-6-2) were very common at that time so the 2-6-4 wheel arrangement was (and is) quite unusual, which gives the engine a distinctive look. The tender is too long in comparison to the prototype, but that's for the sake of having the engine motorized with 2 PF or 9V or motors. I will build this engine in real life, as it is my first engine which doesn't use uncommon parts in uncommon colours Furthermore I really love the design of this engine Also I'll use BBB XL wheels instead of the here shown L wheels from Lego.
  19. Sometimes I think the engines I design are already detailed, but then people like you come and show me that even more is possible! Although to me it's already too much for my eyes, from what I can see your engine looks superb And, as others said, you should build more steam engines
  20. I haven't seen single Fairlies, but from what I know about double Fairlies your engine looks stunning, detail-wise and proportion-wise, though the cars seem a little bit too big for the engine.
  21. Now I think you don't get what I said. I said that we don't kmow yet if there is a pattern, but many people assume it, because TLC has shown us that they have a pattern in other themes.
  22. No, actually the pattern thing isn't something new to trains. We don't know yet what we get, but we realized that the modular buildings have a pattern (see this: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84574&st=500#entry1902863 ) and this can't be just random.
  23. Beautiful  Especially how you made the tower! Not only that it looks nice, it is true to the original! I really love the facades!
  24. Haha, that must look squashed Thanks! But I used LDD so... sorry Anyway I rendered the whole town layout and here is the result: Any suggestions what to improve?
  25. I saw your model a while back on flickr and was fascinated how much better the 60051 could look when modified! The new look fits much better and even the nose piece seems to have more potential then I would've thought! Great work on the pantographs and the train as a whole
