I finally succumbed and am starting a modulars collection. Fire Brigade isn't stupidly expensive just yet, so I'm starting there. :)

It was in the same conversation that he discussed playing with the Summer wave Star Wars sets at a regional manager's meeting... (jealous) So, I'm guessing that it was mentioned there.

The manager at my local LEGO store seems to think that City Hall is the next to retire. :(

So glad it isn't in the Architecture line. $100+ for 250 pieces? Yikes. Gotta be the worst price per piece for a current set, ever.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

Premium instruction manual? Link please? -
3296 pieces... 800 of which are bulldozer tread pieces. Fantastic improvement over the old 'crawler. Definitely do want. Also kind of impressive how much opens up. Must be a pretty beefy Technic skeleton in there. ...actually looks like right about 40 links per tread, so 40 X 8 = 320 Not as many as I thought, but still. I hate putting them together.

REVIEW: 75003 A-Wing Starfighter

Hah! I just bought this about two weeks ago! It's been a long time since my minifigs helped me build a set, though. :) -
LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
There's a LEGO made poster that says all three were considered UCS by TLG, even if the box didn't say it. Anywho. They need to make a new UCS-style MF. Hopefully the rumor is true, because I'd buy it. -
Oh, it was a blank form, but there were separate blocks for shipping, services and merchandise. Very odd. The prices/costs were included in the e-mail, not on the form.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I Huh? You contradict yourself. AT-AT has been a UCS (the motorized one), you say they shouldn't re-release UCS sets, then you suggest a rerelease of the AT-AT... The well known vehicles have all been done apart from Slave I, but you don't want them wasting time with "unpopular" sets and you don't want them redoing sets they did before? You can't have it both ways, Fenson. :) -

Ah, OK. Thanks. -
Oh, neat! So it ends up being a mosaic, since not everything is connected? That's pretty clever.

I filled the same form, but didn't send the copy of the credit card. There was a section for the sale of the sets and another place for the shipping cost, and she (Norberta) had given me two quotes on the shipping. One for express and one by regular post.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
We were told straight up that we were never getting them. Not sure which is worse. :( I hope they release either 10179 re-hashed, or an updated UCS MF. Call me sacrilegious, but I never cared that much for the Falcon, but I'd still like the opportunity to build a model as nice as that. As mentioned, for those of us who were in the dark ages when it was out, it'd be nice to get the opportunity now and not have to pay the anal-raping prices on the reseller market. -
Seriously? I must have paid your shipping plus mine. $SGD 64, just for shipping, and I paid more than that per set, too. Sounds like the hotel staff is engaging in some shady reselling activity, too. I've got MBS return labels and paperwork in my package, but paid a completely different price!

Can you imagine the MOC you could do with two of these and a couple more hull bottoms? <3<3<3

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You seen the movie, right? Wouldn't call that a spotlight, and it's computer animation, not a printed figure, so... Yeah. Not really that much design effort compared to the whole or if they'd brick built a new figure for the movie. -

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
As much money as The LEGO Movie has made, particularly when you factor in the huge bump in sales, right now I don't think they would consider anything they did in service of the movie as a waste, including minor tweaks on a cameo figure with less than 5 seconds of screen time. -
