  1. Yeah, I don't get it. Even if they put it on S@H, but not in stores, it wouldn't bother me one bit. I am something of a completist, so I really hope this "limited" is a time-based thing, like how Bon Marche had the Eiffel set for a month before wide release. ...and I pulled the trigger on an eBay "buy it now" for $85 US plus shipping. Hopefully it isn't a scam and hopefully (for me) it doesn't go on sale in the US for $50 six months from now. :D
  2. It's on the US store as coming January 1st. I should go to my local Lego store and see if they have it yet. Oh, wait. I'm broke. :)
  3. Oops. Thought I was looking at a Marina Bay Sands topic for a second.
  4. Didn't see this mentioned, but 21019 - Eiffel Tower is showing up at LEGO.com now: http://architecture.lego.com/en-us/products/landmark/eiffel-tower-21019/ It's still not on S@H, but at least it's a step in the right direction.
  5. It really is stupid if you think about it. Since the sets that are sold via S@H are always full retail price, TLG gets all of the profit from those sales. Unless they get some fabulous financial deal from the hotel to sell it exclusively there, they're only throwing away potential sales.
  6. I was able to edit my address in my profile to include the US as my country, but when I tried to actually place an order it errors out and says that there are no shipping options to my country.
  7. I'd buy one. I even PAB'ed to make my John Hancock. :)
  8. This is over $140 on eBay already. I hate when they pull stupid crap like this. Hopefully they give it a wide release, through shop at home, at a minimum.
  9. I can't buy this from Bon Marche as they won't permit l' Etats Unis as a country in the address blocks. :(
  10. ^The B-Wing has been available online in a couple places for less than MSRP. I posted about it when I got mine. Anyways. 9492 TIE Fighter Tie Bomber w/ Asteroid field 9500 Sith Fury-Class Interceptor Since the 9500 is out of stock, I placed it as two orders. That would bring me up to 4 Clone Lieutenants. :)
  11. Last day for double VIP points, so I pulled the trigger on the Red Five X-Wing. I guess I know what I'm going to do next, as my wish list only has one thing left on it. The TIE Fighter.
  12. If Eiffel is up next, then it should be 21019, and if Marina Bay Sands is 21021 based on the leaked images... What have we not heard anything about that will become 21020? Maybe there's been another Eames House type problem?
  13. Wow. That turned out great. Using the spears/light sabers(?) for the flying buttresses and the reversed pieces for the side windows were strokes of genius. I didn't even notice the blue backing for the rose window until I watched the video. That's another nice touch! Have you submitted that to CUUSOO? I'd vote for it. Heck, the only thing you'd need to do is make the 1-stud wide black, stepped down rim around the base, and you'd never know it wasn't an official set.
  14. So... I built it in about an hour, maybe 75 minutes while goofing around online. Build quality and booklet quality are as we've come to expect from the line. Nothing too impressive in the actual build techniques apart from the General Assembly Building which has offsets that combine to form a tapered shape in increments of only 1/2 the thickness of a plate at a time. The little antennae that represent the member nation flags are much stiffer than I remember from other sets, which made it easy to get them all aligned nicely. That was a bit of a relief as I've seen too many of those pieces that were loose and wouldn't stay in position. (I even put them all on with the injection point in pointing the same way, lol.)
  15. A trip to the local LEGO store found the UN Headquarters on the shelf a few days early, and with 400+ VIP points sitting in my account... $10 for an Architecture set, 7 days before the release date? Yeah, of course I did.
  16. Picked up the recently discontinued B-Wing from Wal-Mart online for $153 plus shipping.
  17. In the US, Wal-Mart still has them online only and for "only" $153. Pretty cheap, actually.
  18. Just to clarify, the "official" giveaway is that you must spend $50 or more on Star Wars themed LEGOs. The MIni VW Camper Van goes with all other purchases that total over $75. I'm not sure if you can get both if you buy over $75, including over $50 of Star Wars... I'd guess the official rules would say not, but maybe if you're
  19. Just started book #4, and I take back what I said yesterday. This is absolutely an Expert level set. Following along in the steps is easy enough, but the artistry and creativity to make these shells as precisely as they have is fantastic.
  20. Mine arrived today, and I'm just now through books 1 and 2 and I thought the un-numbered bags of Tower Bridge were far more difficult than this. I built that in just over a day, about 26 hours. (I don't sort my pieces and just build from the bags. I start to remember what's in which bags pretty quick.) I actually have seen a few steps where I thought they could have added more pieces at a time in the SOH, and thus that I was being babied along a bit.
  21. Twin-Pod Cloud Car / Lobot / Bespin (9678) and Gold Leader's Y-Wing Starfighter (9495) Neither were actually on my wishlist.
  22. What? Not minifig scale? ;)
  23. It's sad that if it hits 10K, the review process will likely say that the subject is too politically charged to develop into a real CUUSOO kit. It is a fantastic MOC, though.
  24. I picked this up because I needed a couple points to hit 800 and it's retiring soon. I too, was very impressed by this little build. How many kits actually go SNOT in all six directions? (OK, 5 plus the top, something has to be the top, right?)
  25. The US catalogue lists it for $49.99, if that helps any.
