The belief is we won't see them until Jan 31st or beginning of February.

Limited distribution of 21021
rollermonkey replied to Off the wall's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I still say that some transparency to the decision process would be nice. Releasing a limited minifigure or polybag as part of an event such as SDCC or NYCC is something I can understand. Selling an exclusive product only through S@H and official LEGO stores is understandable. But selling an AFOL targeted set, chosen by worldwide polling, in S@H Korea, Legoland Malaysia and some Singapore locations is just weird. How does LEGO gain anything from exorbitant reseller markups? -
Interesting build, particularly since it's all hinges and swivel-plates at the bottom, the lowest legs can sort of 'dance' as you place the top level on, if you place too much lateral pressure at the upper level. I like it, and I wonder if enough of these pieces are available in brick red and/or white so I could MOC up Tokyo Tower using this as a guide. ;)

When I woke up this morning with a plan to go get the Eiffel Tower, I never thought that I'd be building Cinderella's coach first. :) I also never expected to find SNOT techniques in a 'girls' set, either. ;)

Well, as suspected, nothing new for SW on S@H today. :( I half wonder if it's to give the LEGO Movie stuff time to sell.

Limited distribution of 21021
rollermonkey replied to Off the wall's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I just wish that TLG wouldn't be so secretive about this stuff. If the set's 'limited edition' is just a limited availability like Eiffel was for Bon Marche in December, then say so. If it's truly limited to the 10K made (and apparently sold already), then say that. The Architecture set is pretty popular with AFOLs, and architecture folks DO know who Moshe Safdie is, even if the building in question is fairly new. The poll that (purportedly) resulted in the creation of this set was a worldwide poll, so why limit the release to one geographic area without explanation? For that matter, two sets that DIDN'T win the polls were released worldwide (Pisa and Eiffel) but the first winner hasn't been released at all. Again, it's the lack of transparency that rankles. Why conduct these polls for future sets if the results don't matter? Just for the record, I've got a 21021 on the way from Taiwan (were they even sold there?) and I'll be at the Lego Store tomorrow to get my Eiffel Tower. I have all the other sets, but had to PaB the John Hancock. -
If I only get one TLM set, this'll be it. :)

Wow! That was fast shipping, indeed. I ordered mine a day before you, and it's still sitting at the San Francisco airport somewhere, and hasn't even hit customs, let alone the post office.

News LEGO Architecture 2014 News & Discussion
rollermonkey replied to Herky's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The only rumor we seem to have is Trevi Fountain, but if Habitat 67 won the poll that was conducted before the one that Marina Bay Sands won, where did that one disappear to? Edited to add: I've asked before about this: We have 21019 Eiffel Tower and 21021 Marina Bay Sands, but virtually nothing on 21020. Is Trevi Fountain still the only rumor?- 180 replies

Time to add the Curiosity Rover to the original post! -
"Were" because it is selling out everywhere it has been available within a couple days of it's arrival. Thus far it's been bought in Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. I bought mine off eBay from a seller in Taiwan and another bought it from a seller in Japan. Non-retired doesn't necessarily mean it isn't extremely limited availability. Furthermore, a few of us (including me) contacted MBS directly, and they have been out of stock, too since mid-December. In any case, plenty have been bought outside the Marina Bay Sands gift shop, enough that you need to modify your conspiracy theory. :P Now... If MBS is secretly all of the eBay sellers offering these up for $150 and up...

Vee, the problem with your conspiracy theory is that these were sold through the Korean S@H and TRU in at least a few countries. Someone is definitely losing out on possible $$$ here, though. Definitely weird that the 'winner' of the poll got the limited release, but there have been 'losers' that got released worldwide. There's your conspiracy, Vee!

Huh. I had zero desire for this before reading. That cop car is a BEAST, and I love the vehicles that use the tracks in interesting ways like this and the SW Tank Droid.

I like it. Shame you can't make windows in the sliding door at this scale. It looks a little smaller than minifig scale. Is that right? The only thing I see that's a little off is where the top of the tail meets the fuselage shouldn't be sloped past the engine exhausts. I've only been around USN and USMC hueys, though so maybe the civilian/police models are as you built this? I'm trying to think of a part that could represent the tail skid, too... Perhaps there's some sort of hand tool would work?

Thanks. Weird that they suddenly popped up in the architecture stuff today.

Anybody know what the story with these is about? They started coming up in S@H for me, and offer some truly bizarre ppp values... $790 / 2619pcs, $485 / 4900pcs, $37 / 219pcs, and $755 / 2455 pcs Very odd parts, too. Duplo, Friends, City, etc. all mixed up together in each set.

But... The series IV Planet sets won't be for sale in the US, so you'll have to Bricklink or order it from some other source. :(

I wonder if you bought from the same eBay supplier in Taiwan that I did. They had ten, and after each one sold, the price of the next one was higher. I got the second at $85 plus $22 for shipping, and when there were 5 left, it was up to $105 plus $25 for shipping, all from the same seller and the same lot. Never mind the ones on there that were going for over $200! Glad to see my shipping info today... I guess I'll hold off on a vote until I get it. :)

Aw, that's messed up! I was wanting a couple of those. :(

Thanks, but I wasn't looking for an alternative part suggestion. :) I found one on ebay for an acceptable price ($85 for a $75 set? OK! ) and was actually wondering if it's unique to this set.

21050 Architecture Studio... Gone? Back!
rollermonkey replied to rollerbones's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Interesting... I cut the seals so that I could read the book, but never opened the bags. I didn't buy it for investment purposes though. I'm just a completist. :) -
So, does anybody know if the olive-green round tiles are exclusive to this set? Now that the instructions and part list are available from the Korean S@H site, I looked them up on PaB, and got no results.

70800 Getaway Glider & 70801 Melting Room

Gotta be honest: these sets do nothing for me until I know what they are supposed to represent. So, until the movie actually comes out, they seem kind of pointless.
