  1. Do you have a reference picture that you are working from?
  2. I'm saying it's ugly so I don't want it. (That may seems backward, but it isn't.) The box for Marina Bay Sands says "Architecture" right on it. (I did get my hands on one.) The Lego House box, of which we've only seen what I'm sure is just a placeholder, does not. The set numbering for Marina Bay Sands clearly places it in the Architecture line. The set numbering for the Lego House clearly places it in a different category. (Whatever 6-digit sets that start with 4 are) The Lego House has a minifig, something obviously not included in any Architecture set to date. All of this, plus my fervent desire that it ISN'T part of the Architecture line (so I don't have to pay some ridiculous amount to get one) is what we have to go on. :)
  3. It's kind of ugly and CLEARLY not part of the Architecture line.
  4. Just looked up Vitruvius myself. Very cool. I actually lived in Formia when I was stationed in Italy. Very apropos, naming this character for him.
  5. Are they just getting that bad at gauging customer interest?
  6. Been eyeing the Corporate Droid Tank for a looooong time, and finally picked it up. Should have got two. Would love to MOC something with the two tracks as built, but none of the droid cr@p.
  7. More than that, as it looks to be sold out with no more on the way.
  8. With all the Lego Movie chatter, the Architecture discussion was falling off the front page. :(
  9. I thought this new Snowspeeder had two seating positions, is this not true?
  10. I agree to some extent. Under the sold out category, they list products with anticipated restock dates or timelines, as well as retiring soon products. If a product is retiring soon, and is sold out, isn't it pretty much already retired? And why only give restocking info on a portion of the sold out items? If they want to restock them, offer a timeline. If they don't want to restock, pull the listing. It's the vague middle-ground that is annoying.
  11. Nice! That shows that a bridge really can be done as an Architecture set, and done well. I white like the white box mockup, too. And that is a lot of hammers.
  12. I agree with you 100%. It's messy, it's underscaled, it doesn't do the original justice. I guess it's like the Architecture Sydney Opera House in that regard. Michael, did you happen to see the piece count on that data sheet?
  13. I thought of that later, but it's still a long stretch for the Architecture line.
  14. OK, it's getting to be a bit ridiculous... On the US S@H, 105 items are "sold out", 8 are "call for availability" and 15 items are out of stock. That's 6 full pages of items being listed that can't be bought, not counting the sets with future release dates.
  15. So merge and proceed?
  16. So disappointed in this. I had hoped they would have done something that was actually about architecture. Trevi Fountain is beautiful as sculpture, and not really important as architecture. The real location is all about the amazing detail everywhere, from the columns and friezes to the rails and statuary. For that reason, it doesn't work for me, at least at this scale. Also, for authenticity, it needs about 3,000 mini figs crammed together, all with cameras, and trying to get down the terraces to throw coins in. Oh, and pickpockets working the crowd. Yeah. It's pretty, but one of the worst tourist attractions because of its popularity. If you've ever wanted a bunch of 1x1 Trans blue bricks, though... ;) At least it's "only" 50 euros.
  17. Via eBay, I paid $85 USD for the set and $25 for shipping from Taiwan. The original list price was roughly equivalent to $70 USD.
  18. Except we know it was also sold on S@H Korea, Legoland Malaysia, and Toys R Us in both Hong Kong and Singapore. :) We also know it won the worldwide poll to choose the "next" LEGO Architecture set.
  19. I don't know how long it will last, but I got an e-mail from Marina Bay Sands' retail manager today, and this set is back in stock, for 115SGD plus shipping. Move fast if you're interested. They reply to e-mail request in about a day.
  20. Still want one? Move quick. These probably won't last long. (I cannot believe I paid US$85 for this from a reseller and the hotel wants US$90! )
  21. ^I'm sorry, but that's horrible. As bad as the April Fools BT tower.
  22. 2026, maybe. They would like to finish it by the 100th anniversary of Gaudi's death, but make no promises.
  23. Just read through the older parts of this thread... People were VERY prophetic! Wishes that came true include: Pisa (actually, that was a please DON'T make this set), Sydney in small and large scale, Big Ben, Eiffel, Villa Savoye, and maybe one or two others. Looks like Golden Gate Bridge has been a desired set for a loooong time. :) The Chrysler Building MOC on page 2 is AMAZING. Go back and look at it if you haven't already. I'd like to see something from I. M. Pei Turning Torso Bank of China Building (Hong Kong) I think seeing Tokyo Skytree done with LEGO would be very interesting Milwaukee Museum of Art. (No, I don't live there, never have, but it's a very cool design and would require a creative approach by the designer to pull off well.) Now that I think of it, the last 4 all would require unusual techniques: Bank of China is all triangles, Turning Torso is obviously a challenging proposition, Skytree has a hyperboloid structure and the Milwaukee museum looks like a cable-stayed bridge.
  24. Missing pieces are fulfilled by TLG in Denmark. I've gotten a few international DHL envelopes from there. Pick-A-Brick orders are fulfilled by your region's main distribution facility. (For US, it's a Mississippi location that my FedEx packages for both PAB and S@H are sent from.) So, one could absolutely be out of stock while the other still has plenty.
  25. Besides the fantastic holy crap factor, and the sheer tonnage of this beast, it does seem to have a shortage of swoosh-ability. ;)
