Defect lego parts in just a small poly 30282
rollermonkey replied to solidbase's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Did you use the brick replacement service, or did you just send an e-mail to a generic, catch-all address? I mean, if you don't use the tools provided, you can't expect them to jump through hoops immediately. Lots of places that gets large volumes of e-mail use computers to sort through it, and if the computer sent it on to the wrong place, it might never get answered, or to the right department. When I've submitted missing brick reports through the proper tool, I usually get an automated response within a minute or two. The fact you haven't gotten any response in a week means you probably aren't going to get one. Go back to lego.co.my or whatever it should be, and fill out the missing/damaged brick from the right way. I promise that you'll get an answer right away. And it doesn't matter that you bought a US polybag. I could order replacement bricks for my Marina Bay Sands if I needed them, so the reverse should be true, too. -

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Gotta be honest, I never understood how there could be 'balance in the force' if there was only two Sith and oodles of Jedi... That makes a lot more sense if the Sith were just a faction of the dark side. For that matter, when they talked about Anakin bringing balance, when there were oodles of Jedi and ZERO known dark lords, that should have been pretty clearly a bad thing. Maybe Yoda wasn't that wise after all. ;) Anywho, I need to think about what I'm going to do to get up to $75 on SW stuff for May the 4th... I don't need the Sandcrawler that soon, and I have most everything else I want. Maybe the system-scale MF... -
There's a whole lot of overthinking in this thread... I think it was pretty clear that as far as TLG is concerned, there is no such thing as a single, unifying canon, but rather that whatever each of us wants to create in their own imagination is all that matters. While it may be fun to create a story that does pull everything LEGO into one universe, TLG isn't interested in having an official one because that would inherently be limiting to the imagination. If that's already been agreed on, sorry, didn't mean to rain on the parade, but if you're still trying to pigeonhole the movie into an official storyline, I think you're way off track. That's why I haven't voted in the poll... It's not 'just a movie', but it doesn't affect the other themes, either. It exists in it's own universe, but there's no canon for it to affect, so option 2 isn't quite right, either. It certainly is fascinating, and thought provoking to see how vastly differently people interpret it. I just read a review that felt the movie is an allegory about capitalism vs communism. I mean, WOW. I understood how this person found that in the movie, but in think these interpretations say more about the people watching the film than it does about the film itself.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

I just think Darth Malgus is prejudiced towards getting a new Sith minifig. ;) -
Well, I spoke too soon. Got 4 e-mails from TLG in a row saying that my PAB and BnP orders have all shipped. Getting closer now. :)

Just finished my FB tonight... Love the way it looks, but sad it's only two stories.

From my quick skim, I think Mara gets the edge for another reason: She's been an Emperor's Hand, a Jedi and a smuggler... So at various points, she's pretty much had the opportunity to appeal to just about every type of SW fan... -

See, that awareness of a character, despite having to go look at Wookieepedia to find out who she is, speaks volumes. (And now that I do know... Holy crap, I didn't know who she was?) There's a list of 85 canonical appearances for Mara Jade Darth Revan - 35 canonical appearances Bastila Shan - 9 canonical appearances Darth Malak - 38 canonical appearances So... Either she's more popular than you think, or they are trying to jam her down everybody's throat for some weird reason. Having never heard of the other three makes me think they are less important, less popular, or both. Don't get me wrong, I totally accept that just because she's shown up more doesn't automatically mean she's more popular (Darth Maul was WAY more popular then annoying Binks, but they brought JJB back anyways. I think EU writers are way more in tune to character popularity than Lucas has shown himself to be.) But, c'mon. If she wasn't popular, they wouldn't bring her back into the story at least three times as often as the others. Would they? ...and if this is a real minifig, and not somebody's wishful thinking / hoax, he's definitely a very cool looking figure. I'd get one for sure. -

I've read absolutely zero EU books and played zero UE games, and even I know the answer is Mara Jade. I don't know which series is more popular based on that, but I know she'd win. -
I cannot believe how fast some of these BL orders are coming in. 8 of 15 orders are here, and the remaining seven BL orders have shipped. Meanwhile, my PaB and BnP orders aren't shipped yet, despite being placed several days before the BL orders. Heck, I've even got one of my three European orders here already.

Sandcrawler can now be seen on the storefront at LEGO.com But you can't just go to the Star Wars theme and see it that way... Search for May the Fourth, and it will be one of the results. (Some of the others are odd... ) Release is shown as May 3rd so far, nothing about an early release for VIPs just yet.

I placed 14 BL orders last weekend, and the first two are already here.... Sadly, no parts that could be attached to the baseplate, as all of steps 2 and three were in the first BnP order I placed. Incidentally, is it odd that one of the two orders came with almost every lot in its own plastic baggie? (50 lots in 43 baggies)

Clone Trooper Lieutenant's embossed serial is 23B3 It may look so ultra-smooth if it was scanned in, and not a photograph... And there's really not a lot of texture on the minifig polybag I'm looking at... May the Fourth or not, I think it's a legitimate polybag. -
Does anyone else live in fear... (of new sets missing pieces)
rollermonkey replied to Farmer Harv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think it happens most (not being able to find a part) when it's in a bag that 'doesn't make sense'. Like looking for a 1x6 plate and instead of finding it in one of the bags the other 18 were in, it's in a bag with single-stud parts because those other bags were twinned bags, and it was a part with an odd number being used. Or if they actually put 1x3s and 1x4s of the same color in the same bag. We're so used to these things not being the norm, that it throws us off when they break these patterns. -
The sand green parts list is actually pretty short: 35 1x1 bricks (4521948) 56 1x2 modified brick with vertical groove (4521889) 54 1x3 bricks (4521950) 41 1x4 bricks (4521947) 50 1x8 bricks (4521949) A lot of people replace the 1x8s with a combination of 1x2s and additional 1x6s and 1x4s to save on costs

While I certainly appreciate all these MOCs you're sharing with us, it would be nice if you gave us a teaser or representative image for each so we can decide if we want to click through... -
Does anyone else live in fear... (of new sets missing pieces)
rollermonkey replied to Farmer Harv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I have so rarely had a missing piece that it doesn't even cross my mind. Heck, we get so many extra pieces, I'm more likely to wonder what extras I'm going to get rather than worry about a missing piece. When I saw the title, and in the SW forum, I was wondering what kind of interesting SoNE build/story it was going to be... Like some stormtrooper was secretly dating Palpatine's (never before known) daughter, and they were worried about being caught, or something like that. -

The motorized AT-AT was a UCS according to TLG promotional materials, and I will be extremely surprised if anything from the PT gets the UCS treatment at this stage. -
Re GG: Last BnP and BL orders have been paid, and the second BL order arrives tomorrow. I'd actually BL 10179 next if the stupid rigging pieces weren't like $180 each.

The more I look at this, the more I'd like to get the part list... :)

MOC SR-71 Blackbird, would love feedback!
rollermonkey replied to AskYourDoctor's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I didn't mean to offend, but a nicer way to do that would have been to post the link to the flickr of your MOC, as a comparison for the OP, and when people got there, they would have seen you have it available for sale. I dunno, that wouldn't have struck me as rude, but the way you originally posted kind of does. Or at least flesh out the post more so it's got some real content besides the sales pitch. Does that make sense? -
