  1. Um, more than half of the green parts ARE sand green already.
  2. Now I'm sad that today I got the last parts to build Jurgen's Ultimate 42009... But not too sad. I've now got quite a few more parts than I did even three months ago, and that's not bad.
  3. A stairwell would have taken too much space in the Town Hall, and I'd like to see someone try and design a functional elevator that doesn't interfere with the modular levels and do better than what Astrid designed.
  4. You need all the colors: Red, yellow, blue, black and white. Everything else is just decoration.
  5. Absolutely agree with this. As much as I like the LEGO Movie, it really overwhelmed the 'Other' forum all year. There's a lot of blurred lines in some places, like having Modulars in Town when a good half of the Creator line could fit there, too but instead is down in 'Other'.
  6. At minifig scale, the cockpit would need to seat three, if I recall correctly.
  7. Is that a new windshield? Shame it isn't full-minifig scale, but I guess that would be enormous and cost-prohibitive.
  8. Advent Calendar... Now to see if I can wait until December so I can do that while my daughter does the Friends one.
  9. Isn't Juniors less than a year old? I'm sure it was easier to get DC to buy off on licensing a set in a new, unproven line than getting Disney to do so.
  10. Hmm... Odd. I'm surprised to see two buildings from the US in one year after just the one the past couple years.
  11. I posted an idea for a 3rd-floor walkup detective agency months ago. Chinese laundry on the ground floor and a lawyer's office in-between... Pretty sure I imagined two 16x32 buildings...
  12. 1. For the most part, I like how things are run... I don't think it's 100% fair that members who happened to have been around longer get more say than adults who just came out of the dark ages, nor that complete noobs / younglings would get as much say as longstanding, well-respected members... I think the Moderating Team does a good job balancing the voices of all members. 2. Over/under moderation is in the eye of the beholder. I actually got shwacked for apologizing about having bumped a topic by a mod from a completely different part of the boards, then told what I'd been doing wasn't a problem by the 'local' moderators as I had contributed to the discussion each time and that they thought it was a pretty important topic, too. That part wasn't as bad as being told that justifying my actions to that mod was offensive by another mod from another completely different section of the board. As a 42-year-old adult, to me, if the local sheriff isn't upset with me, than the cops from three towns over shouldn't be hassling me. I was pretty offended by the treatment from mods who didn't know me at all, (as in, had never read any of my posts before that day) but I smoothed my feathers and moved on. Apart from that singular incident, I think the boards that I typically read here are pretty well moderated, and I've been on web forums for more than 15 years now and have seen much, much worse moderation elsewhere, that's for sure! 3. New topics for each year's themes? Heck yes. Can you imagine the chaos if there was a single thread for Star Wars since the first days? Yikes! You'd never find anything in there. For that matter, it's nearly impossible now! 4. I'm continually impressed at how good the non-native English speaking members use the language. Frankly, I think some of the younger American members could take some pointers from them. That said, I think that textspeak is inappropriate for forum usage, so let's stay away from that, OK? 5. No. Lastly means nothing comes afterwards. See also: #4 6. No. Just because someone has 3 posts, that doesn't mean that they don't have anything to share and conversely just because someone has fifty-thousand posts. that doesn't automatically mean that what they say carries additional wisdom, either... Or that if they do have great wisdom, that it should be kept for other post-addicts. 7. Staying on topic... While typically it is better when people do, it is far easier to merge two topics that stray together or re-title a topic whose train of thought has found a new destination than it is to split a new topic out of an old one. If people are having a mature, rational discussion, it is normally impossible to take such a rational, mature conversation to another location without derailing it entirely. Therefore, IMO, admonishing people for being off-topic can be the trickiest part of moderation. If people have devolved into mudslinging or the like, on the other hand... That's easy. 8. I actually rarely see locked topics, so I don't know where this question came from. Having said that, BOTH of those two 'Open Letter' threads in the Embassy sub-forum can be locked up (again) and allowed to rot, as far as I'm concerned. 9. No, there weren't 9 questions, but obviously I do appreciate the effort it takes to moderate a forum with as diverse a membership as this one has, and I think they generally do a fantastic job at something that is largely unappreciated by the unwashed masses, even if I don't ordinarily go out of my way to thank them for doing it.
  13. And now you know why people check PAB, BNP, BL and BO when trying to do large MOCs. It is stupid, but it is what it is.
  14. I'm really imagining Ezra's Speeder as a Rebels BP, especially after seeing the 7-minute preview.
  15. Better hurry on those modulars, a couple of the earlier ones available now are getting quite scarce. (GE, TH, PS)
  16. Pretty much exactly what I want to do when I get a second set.
  17. The modulars as released by lego? Nowhere that would make any sense without MODding.
  18. My favorite is when the splash page mentions nothing about insurance and handling charges, then adds like $10 to a $15 order. I respond with a block to crappy moves like that.
  19. Fantastic! I've suggested HSBC building as a future Architecture Line set a couple times, but I know it'd never be done justice at the typical set size.
  20. Not just saying, it's on the calendar. http://cache.lego.com/r/stores/-/media/brand%20retail/stores/calendar/september/4903-us-sept2014-621x947.png?l.r=1853065264
  21. I need to print out the parts list, I've got more than a couple lots here already and more on the way... Huh. 30 lots on hand "already". ...out of 265. Yeesh. This is going to take a while.
  22. Anybody else been backordered on M-motors? ...for weeks?
  23. Just finished the B-model. Very cool build, making a very nice set overall... ...but I'm still scavenging it for parts anyways.
